You know, if you would have left the trapdoor on the Kleenex, covered the enclosure and left it in the dark, the spider with crawl off of it, find it’s prime location in the dirt and start digging it’s home. Then you can open it up and get your Kleenex out of there. Wait a half hour later, then throw a cricket in there and watch the door of death open really fast and the cricket disappear. I would have left the leaves out of there, just straight dirt.

The jumping spiders were legitimately cute and curious. The trapdoor however was anything but cute. It looks terrifying.

It's not a trapdoor it's a entirely different kind of spider they are called trapdoor spiders because they use rocks as doors along with other random items and are smaller than this specific spider

It's seriously ridiculous how adorable jumping spiders are. Especially the males when they do their little mating boogie!😍

Jumping spiders travel alot. I cant imagine having to live in a small plastic box instead of being free. I like how Exotics Lair keeps his jumping spiders. They have free reign on the spider room.

I wish I had 1k jumping spiders in my kitchen they only appear one at a time and I do LOVE THEM SO!

Exoctic Lair had one today...WITH LIL SWORDS on each front leg..this was adorable and so friendly and playful. I wish i knew EXOTIC LIARS (he did that not me😁) Anyway..it was waving at him and his little sword legs were just too cute. I've not seen one like that before. I'm going to Google it

This was really interesting. I have really bad Arachnophobia. I don't hate spiders I just am really scared of them. But I have to agree with you that the female jumping spider looks really cute. And the trapdoor spider is really cool looking. I have pet rats and a lot of people are scared of rats. So I understand the attraction to unique pets. Thanks for sharing this. Love from Denmark

oh the jumping spiders are the cutest i have one of that species too I had it since it was tiny tiny spiderlet and now it is like 2cm so still p small but theyre so sweet how they look around w/ big eyes and wave their paws theyre quite active too like theyre usually doing stuff or moving around

The trap door is really cool but I believe I love the black velvet more. I'm so glad you didn't get bit, medically significant or not. I've heard it is extremely painful for a couple days. Not fun. That second jumper warmed my heart 💓. She looked so sweet💞. Tyfs God bless you

Yeah I live n Ohio too. I use to hate spiders (sorry :/) as a kid. I was raised by a mom who legitimately has arachnophobia sooo yeah. But I love em now. Stink bugs r the bane of my life. Such nasty little creatures

tarantula is a word that most people use wrong. for example: theraphosa blondi, grammostola rosea, t.smithi, ... is not a tarantula ,it's a birdspider. a tarantula is a wolfspider. and a tarantula has 2big eyes, an examples of a tarantula (wolfspider) is a phiddipus .those 3little ones that you have are tarantula's. you do a great job. beautifull spiders!!!!!

All three of those species you named ARE tarantulas and a wolfspider is a completely different.. wolf spider is classified as Lycosoidae not a tarantula and all three of those little spiders are jumping spiders which classify as araneomorphae not tarantula

you can translate it with google. Birdspider is the collecting name for a few species of the family theraposidae. they only exist naturaly in south and the middle of america. The REAL TARANTULA is a south european wolfspider, lycosa tarantula, witch is not related at the birdspider(vogelspin). just type: is een vogelspin een tarantula. in america they named almost every big spider a tarantula, but iff you check the latin name, groups, species, family , then you will see that the lycosa is a tarantula. the tarantula has 2 big eyes, and she can see verry good. the birdspider(t.smithi, grammostola, avicularia,.... are birdspiders)they are two different groups: bodembewoners en boombewoners.(tree and ground ) grts

katinkakyara theraposidae is the only species of tarantula. They called Lycosa “true tarantulas” back in the day but they aren’t related to what we consider tarantulas today. And the Lycosa Tarantula gets its name because it was found in a region of italy near Taranto and was once associated with Tarantism but they are not REAL tarantulas they just called them lycosa tarantulas. Wolf spiders are not REAL tarantulas.

tip for the trapdoor spider: you didnt compact the dirt enough, theres a good chance that it's burrow will collapse if the dirt isint compacted

Jumpers are one of my favorites! We have them ALL over our yard. I found one almost dead and frozen. I immediately picked him up and warmed him up. That was 2 months ago, its winter so I can't put him outside yet.
