They do have an anti venom. They have to extract the venom from the black widow and inject it into horses to make anti venom. It's a cool /interesting process.

What an educational video, Kat! About the tarantulas not exactly seeing and how jumping spiders rely on it. Don’t worry about people who complain at you. Like you said, uneducated people make uneducated comments. You’re awesome and you’ve helped me get over my fear of spiders. Which has kinda transferred to the rest of my life.. it’s teaching me patience and understanding and how I can decide to try and not be so afraid of things and I can try and tolerate if I choose.

The fact that talking about c0vi:D is "illegal" on KZread, that's owned by Google, that was made in america. I wonder what else was "made" in america 🧪💉🧫

The major issue with black widow bites is that the venom protein is a common systemic toxin that you can have an allergic reaction to even if you aren't allergic to other venoms, like bee stings. If you are allergic to bees, you should be equally wary of bites from black widows. What I like most about them is their behavior. During feeding, they are one of the most fascinating creatures to watch. They are extremely careful with how they approach prey items in their webs. They really don't want to get hurt. They also eat other spiders quite commonly and it's crazy to watch one hunt in a web that belongs to another spider. Their slick bodies don't stick to sticky silk. Pretty handy for when you are on the move through the territories of other spiders.

I recently found a false widow and I’m obsessed! She’s beautiful like a black widow minus the fact she won’t live as long but she’s so much fun to watch and stays out of hiding all day! And watching her catch food is awesome. Love your enclosures!

I started following your channel last week. My daughter has wanted a tarantula for a few months. Instead we have settled on a jumping spider. We have pre ordered on Saturday 🎉. We can’t wait for our tiny friend to arrive and give it a nice home. 🏠 names have been chosen already. I love your channel. As someone who was terrified of spiders as a child I’m surprised at myself for agreeing to get a jumping spider now (at 37). Maybe it’s the motherly instinct coming out 😊 but also instilling in my kids that you have to look after all animals no matter how big or small. So thank you for all this information. You inspired me. Xx

as a longtime keeper of amphibians yet never had a rainfrog im based in the uk wales so our laws dont allow imports i believe its captive bred only but i really would love to have rainfrogs tho from people who have had them said "you don't see them much they said allot of the time they are just like potatoes in the ground" but from your experience kat would you say that they are active and are great for experienced keepers ?

My GBB was the most spicy T I’ve had so far. Even my H. Mac is more docile than he was. My LP is a fun little clown who likes to take crickets from my tongs and then dance and my curly hair likes to sprint towards her water when I give her fresh. Everyone is so unique in their temperaments and I absolutely love bringing in new Ts to see how they change my perception of that species.

I have really bad arachnophobia, but for some reason I can't stop watching videos about this species of tarantula, they're just so gorgeous. I have no interest in keeping tarantulas and I doubt I ever will, but I still just really enjoy watching videos on this species.

I still don’t like those… but I now want tarantulas and velvet spiders and jumping spiders. Then all the people I don’t really like will be too scared to come to my house 🤪😅😅 you’re awesome, Kat!

me and my sister used to love finding little millipedes under rocks and stuff when we were kids, wed love to hold them and play with them. i was afraid of them at first but my sister helped me by calling them 'friends' and from that point forward for YEARS wed call them 'Friends'. didnt even know they were called millipedes till we were both like well into our teen years, when we didnt call them friends we thought they were centipedes lol. but i love these guys so much, tempted to get a big boy friend.

hmm... isn't it their urticating hairs which are the more common threat to humans? afaik, even the largest tarantulas would prefer not to get into melee / biting range with a human, which is like 200x its size... but they would definitely kick some of their hairs at you, which itch like hell and are extremely painful if they get in your eyes.

When I was a kid, I found a black widow and put her into a mason jar with holes in the top. We went on vacation for a few months and when I returned home we saw she had babies and they all got out into the house. My mother was livid😀

I had a Black Widow when I was in 3rd grade. Her name was Emma and she was my first pet! 🥰 We found her in our back yard, but what's cool is that there's a Black Widow farm literally down the street from where we live, and they would send us food for her. 😊

So I want to tell you something. My barely sub-adult versicolor has been in her hide for 3 months, I figured per-molt. So last night I took the back off & what did I find but a sac. What !! Was able to feed her & take the beautiful Snow White sac out with little dried up eggs. What do you think of that 😳😳😳 Comment please
