When it comes to fishing in the fall, the fishing can be extremely tough. I have always heard that all you have to do is run to the backs of creeks and that is where all the bass are but thats simply not the case.
My best approach to fall bass fishing is to fish extremely free and simply cover a lot of water. You are going to catch fish all over the place so don't lock into anything specifically.
BassFishingHQ is dedicated to teaching people how to catch more and bigger bass. I will go over different bass fishing tips & techniques that will put more fish in the boat or on the shore. Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned tournament angler, my goal is to help you catch more bass.

What can be most frustrating is the inconsistency in fall patterns. That definitely makes covering water essential. I’ve had good luck punching grass mats in the fall, but if bait isn’t scattering when your lure hits, you might as well move onto the next pattern. 😅

Double Willow w/painted blades works best for me. I always use a white boot tail swimbait as the trailer. I like the 1/2 oz Terminator Pro Series. They really move water. When not out of balance, it's hard to fish them too fast because the blades spin so fast.

I want to let you know, I've have now used your Finn Fishing sun gloves for a whole season and they have been great! They fit good, have held up and are very comfortable. I can tie knots with them on and put them on when I get on the water and never take them off until I pull the boat out. I wanted them for sun protection but had never wore sun protection gloves and was worried I wouldn't like them and may not be able to hold onto my poles very well. Totally opposite, I can't fish without them now. Great product, and I recommend them. I'll be ordering another pair before next season.

I remove the treble and add a maribou jig to my inline spinners. Sometimes a swimbait jig head with a small to medium boot tail swimbait. The weight of the jig heads keep them from spinning, or if I add a swivel. Usually works when an UnderSpin does not.

Since the shad are now schooled up in my river in Ohio I have been using gizzard shad or sexy shad Strike king 1.5 squarebills. They are working good at the moment. Also a wacky rig in green pumpkin or black with blue flake I always have tied on a rod. Today I saw a bass chasing a shad to the surface so I tossed a bps bleeding shad popper and it hammered it. I got it in and it was a pb 3lb 12oz Largemouth! Not bad for a $2.99 lure lol. Just got some super flukes in white pearl and a Strike king gizzard shad wake bait to try out tomorrow! I will throw a sexy dawg or choppo also some times too.

I've always been told to match the hatch. However, natural selection dictated all of the bait fish to have about the same colors, so that means any deviation from those colors meant you were maybe more likely to be picked off by predators so having the silvery coloration was most ideal for survival. So, mismatching the hatch has a logic, when I think about it as you're representing a baitfish with less than ideal colors for survival

Dude, turnover is only a problem when you get a rapid change in temps that is atypical. Most of the time the temperature change is gradual and does not affect fish surbrival during turnover. What it does do is the temperature affects where the bait and predator fish set up. There is always enough oxygen mixing at the surface to mitigate turnover issues 99% of the time

    1. Be careful at night. Stuff can go bad in a hurry. 2. Use a bait like a Spinnerbait with a lot of vibration to locate some fish. Then slow down with a black and blue jig when you find them

@@BassFishingHQ I usually throw a war eagle nightblade, I definitely throw and drag a jig or Caroline rig, but during this time of the year it's tough tough tough.. we had our classic this past Friday night and it only took 10.35 to win.. we had 10.15 and that was with BIG FISH a 4.08 spot and a 3.21 largemouth, but the other 3 were babys. Our tournament was from 7p.m to 1a.m and we didn't have a fish in the boat till almost 11p.m!!! I was just wondering the best thing to throw at night time during these tough transition periods. I don't ride around and graph a lot at night time like I do during the day. I mainly fish docks and dock lights and I'll go to the dam and drag a Shakey head.. but yeah I'm crazy careful at night bro.. u gotta be, even during the day. To many idiots with their daddy's money that have ZERO boat etiquette..

The biggest thing with most river fishing is all about current breaks and current seams. Jetty’s and hard cover the sticks out can offer current breaks and placed where two different currents meet are the seams. Usually if you find one bare you will find a lot of bass. Smallmouth typically won’t get far inside grass but if you can find a grass line where the main current sweeps by…some fish should position on the outside of the grass
