Yeah I could have added in there a category for that. I have just the video on the way right now which addresses your desires. For a starter wheel, if you get an 18"ish wheel, then you'll want either an s19, Patton, Extreme, or Commander Mini. That video will be live in less than a week, which compares those 4 EUCs in great detail🙂

My first wheel has a 300W motor and I'm 300lbs! Sure its got a 7mile range at 12mph max and could cut out if you're not careful on an 8 degree slope but the learning experience was invaluable! It was 6 months before I decided to upgrade to a 16x but I'll always keep and love my first ride. Granted, I did have to rebuild the wheel 3x but that experience was also invaluable. $75 used/$250 new... what's not to love... {I currently have 5 wheels, none bought new.} I couldn't more highly recommend the 16x (used only) for a starter wheel, maybe the 18xl too but everything KS has made since then has been hot garbage! IF YOU MUST have a performance wheel, the O.G. Sherman and Sherman Max have extraordinary reputations for non-suspension wheels. The Sherman S is the only suspension wheel I would consider until the Challenger is upgraded and the Adventurer proves itself worthy. NEVER buy a 1st gen wheel. ALL wheels require DIY service and maintenance, so don't expect to not have to disassemble and repair your wheel at least once a year, if riding regularly.

Thanks so much for making & posting!! Just thinking out loud here: 1) For fun, recreation, motivation, health and wellbeing. Mostly trails. 2) Size matters 😂 I guess I’m fine with very small. 10 to 20 mph maybe my norm. maybe. So maybe 15” ? I dunno. Please consider this question: What would you recommend for first wheel if money and upgrade costs aren’t an issue? 3) Yes, a butt tons of gear. Specific shoes or boots, wrist guards elbow shoulder head knees ass-padding , and maybe hips too.. Extra padding for the cell phone too. I dunno. 4) Loud and clear. I hope to out grow my first euc quickly. Buying used , much smaller and non suspension euc is fine w me. If I like euc I’ll own two. If I love euc I own three. If I adore it I’ll own four different euc. Learning on smaller bikes was not only faster, it was funner, and it is great to switch back to smaller bicycles and motorcycles later on. Maybe euc is much the same.. perhaps it is more important than w two wheels, I dunno yet. 5) yes to coil suspension, if I can get that good. I’m just over 200lbs, so that’s a factor. 6) fuk the State! We need, need, greater levels of anarchy/ personal sovereignty. Simply take Personal Responsibility for all you do, and expect the same from others. 7) Support local businesses and they will help you in numerous ways!! 8) yes to wheel protectors. 9) 16:38 okay, but prolly for my third wheel (maybe second one) but certainly the one that is lighter w the best suspension, but only small jumps. 17:50 very very interesting. Maybe this “old man” should consider it for his first wheel?? Maybe 18:58 for my second wheel? I dunno. Again, thanks so much for this advice and overview!! It would be **great* to hear your response to my thoughts.

Hoo boy, lots to respond to here 😄 let me ask you this: what is your (approximate) location? If you are close-ish to an EUC vendor, many of them offer a free first lesson to get you up and running. This will help overcome the initial learning curve and you might be able to just jump into the "fast " EUC that you want. Also, what is your budget? If you can only afford to get one "nice/fancy/fact" EUC, then I recommend getting the one that you want and just struggling through the harder learning curve, if you have the mental fortitude to do that. If you have children who want to learn, I would suggest possibly buying an A2 and you can give it to your child to use after your skills have outgrown it. Even small wheels have their uses, even for experienced riders. I got my daughter an A2 to learn on, but I still use it occasionally for little tasks that don't merit using a "big" EUC. Small wheels are so much more packable in a car also. 10 to 20 mph is very doable with small EUCs such as an A2. I can't tell you exactly which to buy since I don't know your use case, but I think you'll be happy with a more powerful starter wheel such as an A2, or diving right into a powerful EUC such as a Patton/Extreme/V14 if your budget (and patience) allows for it. Hope this helps, and hit me up again if you want further recommendations 🙂

@@WheelGoodTime Thanks. Exactly the kiqnd of feedback I was looking for! I’m in the USofA, West coast.. and a snowbird. I RV tons, as far north as western Canada then & down into Mexico. Coastal is my norm, but sometimes Colorado. Which takes us to transporting one or more wheels, as my RV is pretty small .. A wheel or two should be easier to transport than my other toys. It becomes a big deal to have more than one bicycle, worse still to have more than one motorcycle. Protection from elements is a big deal as I don’t see myself storing them inside my rig. I see myself having to ship the euc to store’s service centers for major service , as I usually avoid cities as if they are hell-holes. I like the way you think, and now I’m wondering if one of the store fronts would rent me one for a week and give lessons, while a mid sized unit is on order.. or at least deposit is on hold. I guess I could maybe do L.A. or Vegas , but Quartzsite or Yuma AZ would be excellent for the next couple weeks. Trail & dirt use will be the largest percentage of my use, so the right tire is vital. Not sure what else would be vital .. well, except maybe impact protective gear over abrasion (high speed) protective gear. I dunno what else 🤷 Maybe this prompts you to ask me more particular questions? Already you have been very helpful!!

@@captnhuffy in the West Coast there is Alien rides in SF and Vegas, and they have a good reputation. To pay the absolute least, Next Gen Mobility offers by far the best value - that's based in LA, but there isn't a physical storefront. In Tucson AZ, there is a service center for eWheels and they might be able to greet you and show you around, but I'm sure that would take a call ahead and they might say no. Eevee's is in Vancouver BC and they offer demos of all their products as well. I recommend all those dealers 😊 I don't know which ones offer rentals if you don't know how to ride already but it's worth a phone call to them to see 🙂

@@captnhuffy something to keep in mind is that you generally do repairs DIY style. But don't fret, EUCs are generally easy to work on overall. But some vendors like Alien Rides offer a plan (with an extra charge) to do repair work. EUCs are very heavy and therefore super expensive to ship back and forth so DIY repairs are preferred for dealers and buyers alike, for the most part.

  • @WheelGoodTime

They are very different animals that don't translate well with each others. With an EUC, you have to constantly be in motion, much like on a bicycle, to keep your balance. If there is any device that translates well for learning EUCs, it would be riding an "analog" unicycle - which is significantly harder to learn.

I am a first batch buyer myself, and I believe Begode has proven themselves to follow through on fixing first batch issues. For example, they sent all master, master pro and T4 owners replacement circuit boards to correct a cold weather screen display issue. Then they sent V1 master pro owners metal battery boxes free of charge, months later. They also sent T4 early adopters replacement motors. InMotion corrected their motor bolt safety issue, and LK sent upgrade packs for the SS early adopters. I probably should have included a disclaimer about being a first batch buyer, you are right. Maybe I have more faith in these companies than I should 😆 but at least it appears that they are not leaving first batch customers completely behind anymore.
