    The dominant leg is usually the leg that you put on the EUC pedal..You then kick off with your non dominant leg..just like you would on a skate board or kick scooter. This is absolutely the first time I have ever heard anyone suggest putting you non dominant foot on the EUC pedal first.

  • @YvesFOLLET

    I totally agree. The dominant leg has to be on the EUC, that's the one that keeps it tight, able to maneuver it with ease. The other one stays on the ground when stopped.

    Not for everyone…. My dominant leg is the right one and I prefer to kick off with it on a skateboard… the only thing that bothers me with the euc is that it is heavy so I am tempted to use my right leg to control it but at the same time I am more comfortable to push while having my left leg on the pedal…. at the end of the day beginners should just experiment and choose what suits them best.

    Huh? Most skaters use the rear foot to stabilize and push (which is their dominant leg/foot). If your stance on a skateboard is "regular" the left foot is forward and right foot is rear. Most push off with right unless they are pushing "mongo" which is not typical/considered by some a bad habit.

    I've ridden motorcycles forever. My right leg is dominant kicking a ball or starting a stride. But, I have to use my left leg on the EUC. I think it's because I have trained and strengthened that leg to hold and balance weight at a stop for 40 years. My right isn't strong enough to fine control the wheel without a lot of practice. My left did it naturally the first time. Left foot on right foot shove offs are smooth. Right foot on left foot shove offs are sketchy af. So sometimes it is backward for some people.

    So I just got my v11 today, applied the standing technique, head up with the wheel around me left and right. This really gives you a feel and weight of the machine. Got a bit dizzy but that's all part of the game. Overcame the fear of falling and leaning into it and the more you lean the more speed you get and the more stable it becomes. 20 minutes later riding fully independent. Can't wait to see what I'm like after a month. Once they become sub conscious for where you put your feet, and your body learns the balance. This video is excellent and really made a difference.

  • @ThomiX0.0

    @ThomiX0.0

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@jc84com , you have the right description here..being a motorcycle rider, you know that your body makes the balance by the brain connection everybody has. Technically: there is a moment, when counter steering sets in..like with a kickstep, bicycle and motorbikes. This happens later when the size of the object is bigger.( as you know by now, EUC's have this point at walking speed) Looking forward and not down to the wheel, makes your brain switch from what it reasons by sight first (as we think usually:-) to the automatic balancing by the brain later. The sooner we give room for the brain to react, the quicker we get balanced out. = blindfolded and a friend to walk next to you, you might learn it in two minutes= What do you think Julian?

  • @jc84com

    @@ThomiX0.0 yeah I will test this out with a friend. I have also noticed. Hip.knee.ankle strength plays a major factor. So many people are not fit and this makes balancing extremely difficult and a much longer learning curve for the body to build the muscles. plus they become tired much faster.
