Don't Buy An Old Boat - Project Triton EP3
This is part 3 of Project Triton, my journal of refitting a 1963 Pearson Triton sailboat for liveaboard and cruising.
The Pearson Triton was designed by Carl Alberg at the request for a 28-foot sailboat that sleeps four. It became one of the first fiberglass auxillary sailboats built in the United States. The Triton is a recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass. The design was inspired by the lines of the traditional Scandinavian Folkboat. It has a spooned raked stem, a raised transom, a keel-mounted rudder controlled by a tiller and a fixed long keel.
The Triton 28 has made at least two circumnavigations and several other Atlantic and Pacific crossings.

So good that you can stand upright. We really appreciated that when we moved up from our Mirage 24 to our Aloha 32.

Lol, don't rock the boat, don't tip the boat over. Just had a mental picture of boats on cradles falling over like dominoes.

I hope you like the videos Brian. There will be a lot of them. The project is just starting but I have a lot of plans for refitting the boat, a lot of trips with it and possibly some modifications.

I am surprised by the commonality of our interests. We met in Queretaro where we had the room next door. The room you had the week before. You took our picture. I found your videos and noted the common interests including: martial arts, Mexican travel (64 cities now), canoeing in Ontario parks, the Camino (bucket list) knots and now sailboats. Darcy and I sailed our Grampian 30 to Florida. I hope to meet you again, perhaps on the water.

You might watch Motor City Boat Works latest video about a product called RMR mold and mildew remover. But your boat seems near immaculate already. Mine is nothing but dingy black inside. I ordered a gallon of RMR. Spray on and leave for one minute then RINSE with clean water. Keep it away from metal because I think it eats it.

I'll check it out for sure. I read that vinegar was good for this type of thing and it definitely cleaned a lot up but as I continue to work and then live on the boat, I'd like to get it as clean as possible.
