I just got this yesterday. The only thing that sucks is the Facebook app doesn't work well on it. I deleted it and just use the desktop version, so it's all good. I used to be a die-hard iPad Pro fan, and they finally came out with a great screen this time, but the price for the tablet got crazy high. I thought about getting it, and I still want it, but I'm cool with saving my money. I don't really use all the power it has for the price I'd have to pay. Plus, I prefer Samsung phones, so I'm already used to their stuff. Good review.

I agree that the Samsung is great value for money. It’s not necessary to pick the Ultra. I have the “regular” Samsung Tab S9 and it has a fantastic OLED screen and microSD expansion.

yea its fabulous value for money. I can get one (with keyboard) direct from samsung for about 800 GBP, including a 200GBP tradei n with an ancient ipad of mine. Going to replace my mac with it this summer for A-levels

Just switched to Android with the Galaxy S24 ultra, and it's amazing so far. Might get this tablet as a laptop replacement, cus my Laptop is too thick to move around and really hot. (also i love the s-pen)

@@Unlucky1776You can literally plug in a USB-C to a monitor and the tablet in DeX mode to use it as a full desktop replacement. With the office suite, Teams, and any other non-specialised productivity app... You're actually out of your mind if you think you can't replace it. Not to mention the portability, with a fantastic keyboard. The amazing screen for media, webcam for calls, lightweight.. It's better than a laptop in many ways if you don't need special software.

I have the tab s9+ and ipad pro for work. I much prefer using the s9+ especially for notes withh spen..

I switched from iPad Pro 2020 the only thing I miss is ARkit Tools no regrets it all using Tab S9 Ultra daily for - collage I can sync my lectures and homeworks between, phone and laptop is a god sent, no icloud storage crap - Emulation I have 230gb of games in the SD card, PS1, PS2, PSP, PSV, Switch, Mobox - Universal clipboard copy paste cross my phone and laptop - True file manager, the iPad one is hell to use buggy - Real Multi-tasking (multi-Star module will make even better) I was scared about the big size I got used to it tho, I can't carry it in a small bag sadly, you can get the small S9 and you will do 100% of what I said above. - I'm still mad that I still didn't get OneUI 6.0 update, but I installed it manually - The smart keyboard case is expensive and out of stock for months, and doesn't support my language - The notch isn't annoying if use the table the right way, but when you want to use it for drawing with case stand to get lower angle the notch at the bottom is bad

@@kamarealloyd5574 In lecture no it was a breeze I can open the lecture and my note memo, and pop up audio recorder and still has screen space, I was a little bit embarrassed carrying something huge like this while watching YT on off times, but when a looked at other students carrying laptops/iPad 12'9, it is way more convincing, you can get the S9/S9+ if the size is bothersome, or get the cheaper S8/+/Ultra

You should do a quick video about how to use a samsung 24/23 during the solar eclipse. What camera modes work best for example.

DISAPPOINTMENTS WITH TAB S9 ULTRA 5G ::::::: The keyboard for 5G variant (not that I tried other variants), very weird! ::: Right-click browser inconsistency (sometimes doesn't show right-click options and just stare blankly) ::: Powerpoint in Cloud doesn't work (slides can't animate-> whatever animation uploaded will be gone, need to download and edit in other apps), ::: WPS office can't hyperlink, and ::: Showing on-screen keyboard with physical keyboard eventhough "show on screen keyboard is disabled" ::: Can't drag some picture, "format not supported" to ppt documents ::: Out of the blue can't create folders when you need it, "error try again" ::: OfficeSuite can't insert animation ::: The trackpad and keyboard shut down in the middle of work, need to press any key (except trackpad) to work ::: Can't drag images from Samsung Internet to drive ::: Webpages refresh when pop up windows resized, annulling input logins or data ::: The physical Keyboard disconnected, redo login (Etoro) ::: KZread paused on pop-up window, resumed on audio but not video ::: pop-up window overdragged stuck on the edge and is hard to retrieve especially with side gestures navigations on; needing precise maneuvre to trigger snapping to the side ::: Apps often "refresh" for no reason when trackpad is turned on with Bluetooth mouse (Canva, Sheet , Nexomon, etc) losing progress :::

I think what you really needed was a laptop. And most of the stuff you mentioned are app based or some glitches that can be fixed with updates. You cannot expect a tablet to function just like a laptop.

I had the ipad Pro 12.9 6th Gen and had a whole month comparing the 2 and I ended up staying with the Ultra and selling the Pro...They both great devices but the screen of the ultra and the fact that it has an SD card slot was the main reason I decided to sell the ipad Pro! Knowing me I prob end up getting the new ipad pro but in 11" with the oled screen cause I still love using ipad apps as it's fully optimized for the ipad but other than that the Ultra kicks ass watching movies, videos etc

Great point about the ecosystem working with others, making it actually a superior option.

Got ipad 10th gen. Used to have samsung but their oled screens give me headache because of the pwm they use to adjust brightness

I'd get a Samsung s9 ultra in a heartbeat. But it's not that simple. I mainly work in vector based apps such as Fresco, Illustrator and Affinity Designer. Android doesn't have a dedicated vector app, or any vector app apart from Concepts 2024 which isn't quite optimised vector. Another thing that I don't like on the Samsung is the palm rejection. I've noticed people wearing a glove or drawing without resting your palm which is un natural. iPad palm rejection with the pencil seems to be the way to go for artists IMO.

I watched so many videos this is the only one that actually feels like going to Vodafone in person for advice and I don’t have the time or energy to do that as a Mom 💟 Thankyou!

A month later, watching this a day after the Apple event, we can both agree the new M4 iPad Pro has dwarfed all the reasons u gave to ditch the new iPad for the s9 ultra. From the Tandom Oled to the new and improved Apple Pencil, not forgetting the new keyboard and most important thinner and light weight than ever. The M4 iPad Pro is the Godzilla of tablets.

I have both and I gotta say I pick the Tab way more than the iPad. There's more to do on Tab where my iPad sort of feels like an expensive paperweight.

I also have both however, the tab is lacking 5g so my iPad pro gets more play.

As long as you log into the new device with the same Google/Gmail account it should bring the reading list over, presuming you are using the KZread playlists. The KZread app is pretty much identical whether you're on an iPad or Android.

@@techwithbenefits Even when resizing it, it never felt right and just looked odd. Installed the google keyboard and it's alot closer to the apple one. Happy with that now. Also run a S24 Ultra along side a 15 Pro max as I wanted the functions of both.

personally I dont have the s9 (or any android tablet), but I doubt it would pair very well at all. Theres a special feature to allow airpods to auto connect between iphone/ android depending on what is playing music, but other than that they don't really pair that well. I would recommend using chrome on iphone and android in order to keep history etc, switching to spotify for any music, and using a cloud based storage service such as onedrive for any notes. This is all what i've done for "pairing" my samsung z fold 4 to my m2 mac air. Hope this helps

In my opinion, the biggest problem with the Android tablets is the screen ratio. I bought a OnePlus Pad some time ago, where it is really good with 7: 5.

It's a mobile first device running Samsung software. It serves for productivity and media consumption so serves dual purpose. As the comment in this thread mentions, battery life is superior also

The only issue that would keep me from buying a Samsung tablet is their warranty support.. There isn’t any!! If anything goes wrong with that tablet.. good luck getting any warranty support..

I find amusement in the existing tab s9 ultra owners coming here likely hoping to confirm they made the right choice. I do agree the tab s9 is likely tbe superior choice for most use caees in terms of media consumption and traditional productivity use cases. As a musician, I find it utterly useless for my needs, but were i simply looking for rhe most premium tablet for watching netflix, playing games, and basic productivity, I'd likely turn to this.

Umm. Android systems slow and apps get unsupported after a few generations battery goes down as well. This doesn’t happen as severe with iPads.

@@scottrixon5312 nope, u can't open two words doc to edit. U open the second words doc, the first one will revert to become the second one (and not editable). Meaning there will always be one editable words doc only. Precisely, why almost none talk about this limitation with iPad, cos nobody bothers and just use a Window device. I'm actually interested if someone managed to do so, I did managed to do so for a brief moment, then my iPad pro "realized" I have 2 editable words doc, freezes the screen. It seemed to be a limitation with software on a tablet, if a Samsung device cracks this, I'm sold. I am a hybrid user of both Samsung and Apple eco.

I agree that Samsungs tablets are good value. I love Apple and my Mac, but don't always agree on their product strategy. In Denmark where I live, I was able to buy an Tab S9 Ultra with 5G in a deal where I got a free Samsung keyboard and note cover for 1/2 the price of the iPad Pro 13 inch. With the incl. S-Pen this is amazing value.

With LTE option you can use it as a stand alone smartphone too

I believe editing videos and pictures on the iPad. It's probably much better Then On the galaxy tab

I wish. There's really good alternatives, such as Clip Studio, which now has a decent tablet/mobile UI. This is probably the closest Procreate competition. There's also Infinite Painter, but it isn't as fully fleshed out as Procreate. Unfortunately for Android, it is still lagging behind on the better design and art software.

I hope Samsungs puts something better than a Snapdragon 8 gen 4 inside the s10 Ultra. I mean, it should have a Snapdragon X Elite if it's going to compete against the M4.

Problem is there are so many Android apps not optimized for tablet use. Even apps with iPad versions don’t get Android tablet versions. Games are worst offenders of this which is my main tablet use case.

I still got my S7+ 5G, its a beast and still powers through anything and is a great travel buddy, only issue is screen size, the keyboard/case price is robbery for the new ultras, think its around $500AUD, i will be upgrading to one of the new ultras soon, not sure which one, when i can find a nice deal i will take it, plenty of FB market place ....

Android Tablets are great for Media (Netflix, YT ect) but for more "professional" Stuff the iPads are far better. There are no Affinity apps in Android, no real competitor to Logic Pro ... Also a lot of writing and note taking apps are much better on iOS

If you are a vector artist I wouldn't recommend any Android tablet as they don't have a worth wile vector app such as affinity designer, illustrator or fresco... Concepts is nice, but not for proper Bézier or blob brush vector workflow.

If we are being objective, the iPad Pro M4 is leagues ahead of the Tab S9 Ultra. There is no point in comparing, as in every metric, the iPad wins by some margin. Of course, the Tab S10 Ultra will be the principal rival to the iPad and has a two-generation newer chip that helps, but it is still miles behind. So, for those with disposable income, this is a no-brainer, buy the iPad Pro M4. Other factors matter, though, and price is probably as important to some people. So, although old, the Tab S9 Ultra is much cheaper at the end of its cycle. But the Tab S10 Ultra, from what I have heard, will be at a price similar to the iPad Pro M4.

I have both s9 ultra and Ipad pro m4 the s9 screen broke with protector on it brand new when I purchased the first ipad pro it lasted me 5 years after many falls and sitting on it ipad is built better if you have s9 dont even let nothing small fall on the screen it will break and samsung will tell you to pay 700 or buy new

My phone,laptop, watch, tablet all galaxy. now, if someone is deep in the apple ecosystem the tab ultra isn't for you.

Samsung keyboard is overpriced. Ultra variant plus keyboard are at $1400 at my country. At territory of Windows or Mac laptop being way faster than a tablet with windows management capabilities.

The Samsung Galaxy TAB S series is just an objectively better choice than all the other tablets in the market today!

Ultra is too big I think the S9+ would be the tablet I go for. I’m more on the go and taking notes sometimes standing up.

Upgrading my S8 ultra to an S9+. It's arriving today. Their trade-in promo and customer loyalty vouchers are a godsend in decreasing the cost to more than half the price. And It's on top of the current sale they have. Only reason I'm upgrading to the S9+ is because I need a smaller form factor for easier on-the-go travel.

Nah bro, I gotta disagree with you. I have both the Samsung Tab S9 Ultra and the iPad Pro, and while I agree that Samsung's screen is better, Apple's software and apps are way better. I've been trying to find a good handwriting note-taking app for my Samsung, but I haven't found one that's as good as Notability or Goodnotes on the iPad. And in terms of functionality, Apple is just miles ahead of Samsung. Samsung really needs to step up their app game.

No 5g version of the ultra here in the U.S. Only the tab s9 plus come in 5g version.

IPad is good for longer duration, Samsung tabs have many issues like hardware failure, black screen, amoled pink line , etc. after 2 years of usage. But iPads, they can run for more than 4-5 years without slowing down.I had tab s4 with motherboard failure, iPad pro running for 5th year with no issue.

Not everyone wants or needs a laptop. Tablets offer way more portability and function for people on the go. It's all done to needs. Not everyone thinks or acts the same, hence why so many different products exist

The ultra is better. The only thing is that it needs Adobe apps and procreate.

Many of the reasons people are drawn to the higher end ipads is becuse there isnt an android replcement for the _software_ you are looking to use. The samsung tablet looks great, but if it cant run ios apps, its basically useless. Im not a hater. Ive most likely used android longer than you and ive never had a ios device as a daily, but to suggest the samsung instead of higher end apple tablets is kinda dumb. If youre buing an ipad pro, youre probably a creator that needs the ios only apps.

I dislike Samsung! I love the Tab s9 ultra but Samsung doesn’t offer carrier support is only WiFi I don’t like that if they ever come out with carrier option I willing to spend more then $2000 dollars for Tab s9 ultra until then I’m gonna keep using my iPad Pro 2022…

That's so crazy! Over here in Australia tablets are a massive part of carriers and all the Tab S9 series have both WiFi and WiFi + 5G variants

@jorgemb77 The 5g on an ultra is not going to sell well in the USA because everyone has a cell phone. I mean, a laptop doesn't have a 5g cell option either. I saw an A9+ 5g in the USA. I think s9 fe has 5g model, too, in the usa.
