I started with the 93, then the 94, sold those with the bass boat, the new boat I got the 1222, awesome unit! I since went with the 8612 xsv and absolutely love it. Only reason I didn’t go the 126 ultra, I wanted my active captain and record to the iPhone or iPad. The 126 you cannot record, you still have AC just not record on the 126 ultra. Have to agree the 34 is so much better than the 32, but wonder when garmin will come out with a new ducer, and if they do, will they still use the GLS10 or come out with something totally new.

In the echomap ultra series a 10 & 12" screens have same pixel density so technically a 10" screen has better clearity. I have 10" ultra on my PA12 kayak. It's perfect size to me. I never use side or down scan at same time as LS so split screens hasn't been an issue. I'll put a sliver of mapping on left side so I can see my position. Rest is on LS, when I'm using it. It's right next to me in my face so it's more than big enough. Maybe in a bass boat where it's at your feet it may be different? Russt marine did a bunch of comparisons recently with mega vs GT56 & gt56 vs new HD3n1. Their all so close on side imaging now. They all basically tie at this point. Can't go wrong with any of brands. At this point it seems like mapping & LS would be the deciding factor.

I've got 4 gpsmap units on my boat. That's the way to go if you want to get in the game for less. No sacrifice in quality picture, sonar etc either. Even my lifep04 batteries are cheap. I did the research, installed myself and didn't spend an arm and a leg...just s few fingers lol.

I'd like to know if you still use an I Pad in the boat for Google Earth? Whether you do or not, I'd like to get one to use in my boat but not sure what to get thats budget friendly. I think as long as it has a gps feature it's good to go for Google Earth? I concerned about screen quality in bright light as well, What's your opinion? Thanks.

My understanding is that the same blackbox can be used for 32 and 34, just different software. Just to be clear, you can not run a 32 and 34 on the same blackbox at the same time.

Jansen, yes, you can use the same black box from the 32 for the 34, they are the same. I just upgraded from the 32 to the 34, but got a new black box. Easier sell. If you go that rout, just make sure you update to the latest firmware.

So..Panoptics came out first utilizing the PS22 sonar..Livescope came next and utilizes the lvs 32, and then the lvs34, then the lvs 34 plus. Why is everone calling every livescope panoptics? Just looking to see what the plain jane panoptics PS22 system looks like when your scanning underwater trees and crappie looks like. It makes it hard to comb through all these videos when all I'm looking for is plane jane panoptics footage..not the newer livescope systems.

Of course you have 20 thousand dollars in electronics on the bow. That’s what bass fishing is after all. A rich man’s game. You people couldn’t do it the way we used to 30 years ago.

  • @basscat2107

Yes yes they would still smash the competition. If that's your Whats you think. 95% of the guys fishing the bigger tournaments would out fish you 5 out of 7 days a week with zero graphs. If you could not afford nice thing 30 years ago no difference today if you can afford nice things. Difference is back then the rich guys did not have the opportunity to buy nicer things cause there were none. They could just afford to prefish better longer. Had better and more tackle. You don't need to be rich to fish now. That's just a excuse to not try.
