As someone who works with polycarb, I enjoyed watching you guys trying to break something I knew wasn't going to break from blunt force. Heat will defeat polycarb, it can be cut fairly easily, but it is made for impacts and will deform a lot before breaking.

I bought a single small sheet of this stuff at a hardware store and cut out about 5 lens protectors for my airsoft gun dot sights and scopes. Never lost a scope to direct hits again. It was like $5, and could be cut and filled down to shape with hand tools easily.

Polycarbonate is super tough, I'm not sure if it's still true but they used to make fighter jet canopies out of the stuff and it's definitely still used for riot shields. However, if you can get hold of some liquid nitrogen and chill that bad boy down to -40 it'll shatter like glass

I even drove over them with a forklift. Only at that point did the arms break off. I never did break the lenses.

Tricks such as the Hang 10 and handstand and Bert slide were invented on boards like this. And carving on banks. Boards of this shape are also where pool skating started. The wheels on this one are a bit wide for pool skating tho. Very much for carving and downhilling and slalom.

It was the best feeling in the world, by this time hardly anyone skated, we had to skate on the streets and in parking lots and people chased us all day. if it had an aluminum shank spanning the two trucks, that would eliminate the flex and allow them to make a full size board. add some grip tape or just embed grit directly into the plastic and you would have an indestructible board that performs just like traditional wood. i suspect it's heavier than a normal board, but a few lightening holes could be drilled into it as necessary to bring it back down to a normal weight.

Yeah, it's one of their false outcomes. If you lean like a normal person, you don't get more water from the front in vertical rain but it's simple maths, if you walk like a snail, you get soaking wet in the lightest rain, if you go lightspeed in a planking position, you gather all the water that is in level with your head and shoulders. That's the bare minimum rain you have, unless you are smaller than 2mm and you can predict where the raindrops fall and completely avoid them. But anyone who actually tried to both run and walk in real-life rain knows that running is less pleasant at the moment but you only get your upper torso wet running as opposed to get soaking wet walking.

Which is the polycarbonate thickness for that board length?

These guys just learned why the polycarbonate compound was created by NASA to use in the windshield of their space shuttles and then moved on to be used in the windows of race cars. It is the toughest solid clear substance on earth currently!! Some companies even make their bulletproof windows for cars out of straight polycarbonate. This stuff is incredible. I think it would be really cool to see a set of skate trucks and wheels made out of straight polycarbonate as well.

Built my first pig board from 2 sheets of Plexiglass glued and bolted together....1978 rode it through early 80s. never broke it, broke lots of wooden boards. It was very forgiving on the knees/ankles.

A friend of mine had one of these 20 years ago way before Amazon was around. It’s so uncomfortable to ride because it feels like your sliding around on butter, the thing is too smooth unless it hits a pebble and you go flying 30 feet since this thing picks up speed so fast.

This skateboard should get a second video where it faces Ricky Glaser when he comes back from injury. If anyone can send this thing to boardhalla it's Ricky.

last time i watched this channel was something like 5 years or so ago, i remember when they bought this warehouse and were building it up slowly, remember the first ramp they got etc. trying to plan out what to do with it, it was great but yeah. today this video got randomly recommended to me and i was like "no way they still making videos?" so i watched it but i don't think i will come back watching more i just sadly don't have the time for it anymore and i also changed a lot as a person and i just don't think i would get the vibes from these people that i'm looking for.

i used to work at a place that made polycarbonate. You will not break polycarb. polycarb breaks you. The only way to get through it at all is with a frickin saw.
