Fuck yea it is. I'm trying to make a turn in my life of learning to not engage in conflict with anybody. Relearn to practice the basics: be polite, show respect, and if I can't say something nice, keep my mouth shut. I am a recovering alcoholic/addict. That was a behavior that was crippling my life. I found a way out dependent on me maintaining a recovery effort. This conflict behavior is no different. Taxing and with consequences I do not want to deal with. Therefore I need to change my behavior patterns.

you shouldve heard him speak when he was young, and living with cus. he was an honest, humble, intelligent...he was a gentleman. im a year younger than mike, and i was never the type to be a "fan" of another man...not even my father. i never came across anyone i admired. But after the first interview i saw of Mike, all i remember is instantly becoming a fan. i think the reason his personality struck a chord is...he was the devourer of worlds, the babayaga, the boogeyman. Grown men, professional boxers were scared of him. not the healthy kind of scared...it was a paralyzing fear. i followed boxing closely back then and i never saw anything like it. There was Mike Tyson and then everybody else. Fighters skill was assessed by how long they lasted in the ring with mike. many didnt make it past the first round. very very few ate one of his left hooks and continued fighting. if he caught you with that punch the fight was usually over. Mike had every right to be arrogant but he wasnt.

Mike never once won after first overcoming adversity during a fight. That would make me doubt his ability to beat the likes of Ali, Foreman, Frazier and Marciano, all of whom could do exactly that. Prime Foreman is the worst match-up for Mike, no matter how humble George comes across when asked about such a fight. If a prime version of Mike fought Lennox Lewis and Vitalli Klitschko, they would also be very close fights IMO. To conclude, it is actually very close indeed and I'm a huge fan of Mike Tyson.

If it's one thing that's always bothered me, it's that people seriously FEAR Mike Tyson, there's nothing to be afraid of, he's just a human, he's been portrayed for years as this "VICIOUS BLOODTHIRSTY PSYCHO RABID PITBULL THAT'LL SNAP AT THE DROP OF A HAT" but some people can't see him as a person that's been through so much and lost so much, all because he's a fighter and he's had to fight his entire life while has been taking shots to the heart relentlessly throughout it. Yet people want to get concerned or ridicule him for getting angry or lashing out when he's been through enough in his life, as if HE did something wrong just for lashing out despite life lashing out at him time and time again, when all he's ever wanted and needed was the love and respect he deserved in his troubled life. People who've never had to fight and struggle for their worth and their very lives can never understand what a life like that is truly like, because they have different values due to not experiencing life the same way. No one has the right to shame or ridicule Mike for what he's been through by treating him as this inhuman crazed monster just for trying to fight for his life and happiness.

Mike was once the Monster I loved to hate. A fearful Beast with unmatchable rage and savage violence as a superpower. An absolute Gladiator. Over the years, since he left the ring and chose to cage the beast, Mike Tyson has evolved into a humble and wise man that I have grown to love and admire. It really is like someone else is now wearing the body and face of Tyson. However, the Beast is still in there. From time to time you can see it behind his eyes. Ive seen several videos in which Tyson became very emotional about the man he once was. To a point that it seems as if he hates his former self. Tyson is as iconic as Ali and has earned my respect and admiration. Too many men never outgrow their younger selves. It is beautiful to see such a savage man evolve into such a soft spoken, wise teacher. I have nothing but respect for him and I am beyond proud of his ability to become a better version of himself. He is worthy of admiration and I pray he lives a long, healthy life.

When you watch a compilation of wins, after he beats the snot out of his opponent and ref calls to stop the fight or the count or the TKO. Tyson is the first to make sure the dudes ok. Most fighters are like " fuck him" But Tyson actually cared the other guy was still breathing or not a drooling vegetable. One of the baddest to ever step in the ring. But with true empathy once the fight is over. But I never seem to hear people talk about that side of the man. For me, he's the best because of that. The ability to switch off when Force is no longer needed. True Respect and holy balls the man at 50+ years is still the true iron man. ( Tony Stark, pussy )

I think Mike's soul is that of a honest and gentle man who doesn't want fight or be violent, but life circumstance made him the best at those things. Once he got a taste for it, it became addictive - the fame, fortune and power. When he's speaking to people in interviews and they stroke his ego, I sense Mike is uncomfortable with it. He seems to turn from being chill to remembering the inner beast within him and the sense of power it brings as those flames are stoked, and he's very aware of it. Mike is ying and yang.
