This has always been my favorite Snake funny car....love the white Cuda body.Very classy!

At one of the Nats in 71 Don P. was kind enough to allow my 10 year old self bug the hell out of him under the car body as he tuned it. He was a very big hero of mine. I've never forgotten how nice he was.

I finally got a chance to meet him last year- he was very cool- my childhood hero- I was so nervous lol - definitely a moment I will never forget

I remember seeing the yellow cuda in front of Ramchargers with the Mongoose, got to see them run that same night. EPIC

pretty sure at the cacklefest they make ya take the driveshaft out. there was an incident in a pitt , rail running, no jackstands , reved it up went into gear & took off into a trailer , killing the driver. i cant find anymore info on that. anybody ?

From back in the day when Funny Cars actually looked like the cars they were supposed to represent. Today Funny Cars all have the same shape, are ugly as hell and you can't tell what make it's supposed to be without reading the sticker.

I was at the Winternationals a few years ago and Don was standing 2 feet away from me....I said "HI Don" and he just stared through me as if I wasn't there, and he did the same thing to someone right behind me...not a nice person at all.

don i can rember being in tulsa as a kid out side your pit and all these hillbillys are smoking out side the ropes and your checking your nitro with the hydrometer and you look out their and dump it right in the most marlbro men and you cracked the most amazing shiteating grin and you became my hero right then you are the man snake

SNAKE! Before I got into music,I was gonna drive Funny Car! Snake and Mongoose were it for me! My Dad and his brother raced a 57 chevy a San Fernando and Lions ,and h would take me,that how my Mom found out he was RACING! And that stopped ,but we still went almost every weekend when I was growing up! Pomona was a nothing 2 bit track,Lions was the best,and Irwindale ,Orange county Intl. Raceway! Of course Bakersfield! At Famoso or Bakersfield it was cold l had my new jacket on I think I was 11 and we were walking through the pits ,no ropes ,so you could walk right up to whoever a talk or get a autograph,so I was trying to get another Snake one and he turned and bumped into me holding his crankshaft ,and smeared grease all over my new jacket! He put it down to wipe it off and I stopped him and said"no,I don't have this from anyone,and he signed my jacket ,I only wore it once to school,no one thought it was as cool a I did,especially my MOM! Still love the floppers,Pisano ,Jungle Jim and Pam! My favorite loud funny car was a car out of Az, I think ,called "KING CAMARO" it was a 70 Camaro body with weed burner headers ,and what I hear ,2 electronic ignitions,verry hard to find much out about that car,but I loved.I could go on forever,Holy Toledo ,Beach Chevrolet Corvette I watched burn down on the freeway at OCIR ,and the driver got a ticket to boot! There are the good old days!!!!!!!!!

Would be so awesome if some of these old 70s-era fuelers could come back to race in the Top Dragster class. Does anyone race funny cars in that class or is it all dragsters?

Go online and check with the NHRA or IHRA Ford nostalgia funny car races they have them all over the country they're very exciting I run a super comp dragster and hang out with Steve Torrence during the gatornationals but people used to run funny cars in super comp also but it just cost more and it's less consistent

Not too much to that car simple tube box frame engine drive shaft diff with a body over the top. These guys were the icons of drag racing when I was growing up Eddie Hill, Don Prudhomme the snake, Big Daddy, Sherly Muldowney, and others I don't remember them all. Then John Force shows up I think late 80's. I remember Vance and Hines drag bike racing.

These 70's FC's look fantastic. Today's modern funny cars are butt-ugly.

RUNNING CAR , NO BELTS ON, NO FIRE PROTECTION, ON HYD JACK, NO HELMET, YOU,VE GOT A HUGE LEARNING CURVE TO LEARN. THESE ARNT TOYS
