This is a great video for noobies. I think people will find it eye-opening how much you can do with magic and why good players say "use your gems". Also shows why good players scoff a bit at doomstacks. Not sure if you mentioned it in the video, but rituals that summon good commanders and/or troops like Faerie Court are a great way to use gems if you can't think of another way to use them. Globals can be another good way to do this. My rule of thumb is that if I ever have more than 100 of any gem type, I need to buckle down and start brainstorming ways to turn those gems into advantage.

I barely used my gems because i forgot i have them but now that you reminded me about summoning commander i will have to do that more often.

i love how this game is much more complex than what you see on the surface and the surface its already quite complex...this game and shadow empire really itch my desire for these types of games...there is another game that caught my eye as well that maybe you might want to check out..its called kingdom, dungeon, and hero...not out yet but gives me vibes of this game...its a light fantasy medieval hexagonal game anyway, cool video and very helpful :)

This really just shows the level of strategic depth that this game has, holy cow. I'm pretty new to the series and Ill be honest my mindset is so conventional that when I saw the stacks I thought there was no way you could deal with that lmao. Ill take more time to study the magic system in this game, it seems far more flexible, powerful, and interesting than I thought.

Presumably the magic-ness makes it just enough not-iron to be bearable. Although in theory you can also equip the magic salt item, if you had any reason that you ever wanted to...so at that point I got nothing 😅

Be careful doing this with low astral mages in MP... You should expect a doomstack to have some magic duels scripted to deal with Teleport army wipe casters. Life for a Life as well in Blood.

Na'Ba has a severe problem dealing with magic duel because of having exclusively S1, absolutely. In this video I decided to focus as narrow attention as I could on strategies that a player can use if they are unfamiliar with the spell list as a whole, and mostly against AI in single player. Otherwise the video would become prohibitively long lol
