If you choose to grunt on your ground-strokes (which is totally acceptable), it is a strategical must to grunt on your drop-shots the same. You wouldn't want the opponent to figure out that you don't grunt when you hit a drop shot so it is better to keep up the grunting even when hitting shots with lower power.

You know, I can't believe how Thiem plays with a racket like that. It is rated very highly on Tennis Warehouse for players of their level. But actually it is very light for a pro, a mere 320 g strung, even lighter than Nadal's racket. The beam is thinner as well. And the string pattern is 18x20. So this is all control, but quite easy to swing fast. No wonder he's absolutely murdering every shot. But seriously, for a strong guy like Thiem, he's made it impossible for himself to have easy power. There's nothing on his shots if he doesn't swing as hard as humanly possible. This racket won't do anything if he doesn't swing it as hard as he can.

If he wins the first set, but loses the second, again he's going to lose! I really feel for Thiem to win tomorrow he needs to win the first 2 sets, and then it still won't be a given! He looks tired. He played the week before the French started, winning that tournament in a tough final, and so I believe he's going to be in the same situation Wawrinka was last year doing the same thing, and then just not having what it takes to beat Rafa in the final. I believe Thiem will tire out if it goes 4 or 5 sets. So he better win in 3 sets if he plans on winning!

Hello I run Be Gr8 at Tennis and would like to use your videos please for educational purposes only (I will not charge or have ads on your videos and will credit your channel at the end of each video). Ian from Essential Tennis has given me permission, and I've done some videos. Their videos are great but they don't have any newer slow motion videos such as Thiem that I'd like to use. Please let me know. Many thanks, Rob

Not enought to beat Nadal in Roland Garros
Must be Monica Seles' sister with that unnecessary grunting. A lot of "pros" do that shit to play head games with their opponent. Personally, I think the chair ump should subtract points for it. :)

This guy has got the best of the best technique pieces. Roddick's serve, an improved Djokovic forehand with that stop right below his shoulder, and 00:59 to 1:02 was straight up Federer with that half-power making-it-look-easy forehand, a Gasquet backhand, and a slice of Nadal.

He is good but not good enough to beat any of the big 3 in a GS final yet. It's more mental than physical or strategic
