I first came across Tom Power with his Melissa Etheridge interview. I am a MLE superfan, and have heard hundreds of Melissa interviews. His stood out as one of my favorite Melissa interviews of all time. I am so glad to see him here with Dolly. He is so good!

It is amazing in this world how some people, too many, spend so much of their time and direct so much of their thinking, energy and efforts toward negativity, fighting, tearing others down, being so hate filled and warring; while others, like Dolly, are the opposite spending all of their time, energy and efforts thinking about and bringing about positivity, bringing people together, bringing so much love, light and joy to the world - I guess that is just the nature of the realm of duality.

There are so many great singers and song writers. Some in the past now, others still crafting joy for those who hear their songs. There will be others following in the footsteps of those who came their way. And then....THERE IS DOLLY...ENOUGH SAID!

I want to real talk with the host because this struck me. Miss Parton, I think she's really so awesome to us now it's not that we don't take her seriously but she makes us nervous like a Saint. We love her on this level of being awestruck if she speaks. And it means she rarely gets good interviews, sadly. But this host probably did the best interview she's ever done. He treated her with genuine respect while also demonstrating knowledge of her career which seemed to put her at ease. And it engaged this level of authentic honesty rarely shown in her interviews. I loved seeing it. I think she's just on a whole other level as a human being but most people are so stunned they can't engage with her really. I loved this. It touches my heart to know the interviewer is so familiar with her work. And I can tell Let it Be is a favorite it her. She sings is heavy like a preacher, it personally sends me every time.

You're right, was thinking to myself, I got feels for her like a saint. She stays authentic and caring no matter what. Generous and kind, down to earth. I care about Dolly and think of her almost daily, weird, maybe...I think it's because she sets a standard of goodness that the world needs to move forward in a way that promotes humanity. I've followed her since I was a youth when she was on the Porter Wagner Show. I loved when she took over Gold Rush Junction and started Dolly World, she gives back to her community.

But it was in the 90s, and me and my friends went to see his concert at the grand palace in Branson Missouri. I’ve always loved Breaky heart, and all Billy‘s songs. I think I have the complete Cyrus set, so two of Miley Cyrus news albums as well.

I know Debbie and I respect her tremendously but we can have a difference of opinion on this issue. Here are some women who are not in the RnR HOF that deserve to be there before Dolly: Siouxsie (from Siouxsie & The Banshees), Pat Benatar, Cyndi Lauper, Wanda Jackson, The Mavelettes, Chaka Khan, Kim Gordon (Sonic Youth), PJ Harvey, Big Mama Thornton, Emmylou Harris, and Bjork... There are more if I thought about it longer. Look everyone loves and respects Dolly Parton but she has never been a rocker. She is a great country/country pop singer and songwriter...@@PaulRichmondStudio

@@robbrown4621 well Dolly said the same when she tried to decline the honor (as she explains in this interview), but they told her they were going to put her in anyway. So that’s why she decided to make a rock album, and it’s awesome! Pat Benatar and Emmylou Harris from your list also make appearances on the album to endorse dolly’s rock status. People have been telling her what she can and can’t do for 60 years, and she has always done whatever she wanted. To me, there is nothing more rock and roll than that.

I have no issues with Dolly. She is a wonderful human being. And I am not telling her what to do. My issue is with the hypocrisy of the people in charge of the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame. There are many people who deserve to be there way before we ever get to Dolly. And like I previously wrote, Dolly is a country/pop singer songwriter. The only reason she did this rock record was because she had to after being inducted. And along this line, if we are going to induct pure country singers into the Hall then there are country singers who were more 'rocker' than Dolly. These would include George Jones, Jeanie C Riley, Loretta Lynn, Waylon Jennings, and Merle Haggard... @@PaulRichmondStudio

But I love Dolly’s rock album, and I believe it proves her quite worthy of being considered a “rocker.” Have you listened to it?
