Nondrinking alcoholic, quite while in jail for yet another drunk and disorderly that cost me yet another job. Chronic insomniac, a good buzz means a good nights sleep and be ready to work the next day.

Psychedelics saved me from years of uncontrollable depression, anxiety, smoking, and illicit pills addiction. Imagine carving heavy chains for over a decade and then all of a sudden that burden is gone. Believe it or not, in a couple of years they'll be all over for treatment of mental health related issues.

I wish they were readily available in my place. Microdosing was my next plan of care for my husband. He's 59 & has many mental health issues plus probably CTE & a TBI that left him in a coma 8 days. It's too late now I had to get a TPO as he's 6'6 300+ pound homicidal maniac. He's constantly talking about killing someone. He's violent. Anyone reading this Familiar w/ BPD knows if it is common for an obsession with violence.

Should have never been illegal to begin with. It's far safer than alcohol.

Opiates are generally safe. I can't use marijuana as it doesn't work at all for pain and I don't like to feel euphoria so I stuck with opiates that don't cause any euphoria and are safe when used correctly.

I'm Canadian - we've had legal weed for 6 years now

Think about how many blue-collar workers we dont have because they test for THC. The number of CDL drivers we dont have because smoke in 30 days of a drug test can get you fired. Think about many lives were ruined by loss of job just because someone wanted to relax.

It should be de-scheduled completely, and regulated like alcohol. But this is at least a major step in the right direction.

I was never selling weed. Seems like they wanted to bust me to get me to snitch on a friend of mine that did sell weed. I wouldn't do it and got a distribution charge. They kept telling me all I had to do was set him up and they would drop the charges.

Marijuana should be taken off of the DEA's schedule of controlled substances. Alcohol is not on the schedule and alcohol kills. There is not one documented case of anyone over dosing on marijuana. In fact, there is no known lethal dosage of weed.

It’s always gonna be a reason to lose your job for certain occupations. Pilots , truck drivers, I have a boilers license. When boilers explode , planes and trucks crash , they look for someone to blame. Justifiably so. But they do not separate the blame for a guy that smoked a joint 3 weeks ago vs a guy that smoked 30 minutes ago. Worked construction my whole life. The mist dangerous guys are the drunks and the coke heads , but they pretty much get a pass because those substances metabolize so much quicker than weed

This plant, not put on Earth by humans, should be free to be grown in abundance by anybody who desires it. Treat it like tomatoes. Don't criminalize something that can help save the planet in more ways than one.

As a medical cannabis patient, I was able to quit smoking tobacco and drinking. It has treated my anxiety and PTSD symptoms. Legalization is the solution to so many issues in this country. This will help Vets, police officers, EMTs with PSTD. This will quell the opioid and fentanyl epidemic. Marijuana tax dollars is in the millions for states that chose to support it. Pardons to non violent offenders for possession will lower prison populations and legalization allows police to focus on more serious issues.

I was a law enforcement officer for 34 years. During that time, I NEVER, not once, went to a domestic where they'd smoked a joint and got into a fight. I also NEVER answered a car accident where the driver had smoked and had an accident. Not once. Alcohol on the other hand,...

56 year old Disabled Veteran here and has helped me more than anything prescribed for my chronic back/neck pain, anxiety etc .........

3 drug users arrive at my door looking for shelter from a storm. The first one is drinking a beer. The second one merely admits they use cocaine, but has none on them. The third one is actively smoking pot. The first two better find a bridge somewhere. The pothead, once finished partaking, has a room for the night. Pot is only dangerous to young minds yet to complete grade school, and to those who happen to be allergic. Meanwhile, I have watched alcohol cause violence without cause, and have watched cocaine cause a person to try to rent out their own child. Potheads, at their absolute worst, eat, laugh, and hold down furniture. Pot had no business as Schedule 1 to begin with.

@Trohelio My state, too. We passed Rec and Medical in 2018. Our puppy killing Gov'na sued us with our own money and overturned the vote on a technicality. The fight ain't over for us homie, but this move to lower classification will help ✌️ It'll decriminalize it at least, and legalization will come to us all when we get a toker friendly majoroty in that damn House. I'm pretty sure the Senate is already on board.

Idk what state you live in, but everybody in New England smokes pot and a TON of places Will hire you regardless if you test positive for weed,unless you're coming to work high as a kite and making it a problem it usually isn't an issue if you smoke weed

First good move in quite awhile and completely support it. This is something that has needed to happen and I'm glad that Biden has the guts to do it.

What exactly is different from the cannabis plant and a tobacco plant? they both come from the ground, they both get you "high" and both are addictive, so since we are classifying plants as drugs, then shouldnt nicotine be illegal too by your logic?

We should legalize it federally. Especially with a worker shortage and people not willing to join the military. They should be able to use it then people will most likely want to work in these industries.

Ironically, Xanax and all benzos are FAR FAR worse than marijuana. Even coming off a low, doctor prescribed dose of Xanax can be absolute hell on earth. When going through it you would happily accept death instead. Actually the withdrawal can kill you.

There are some states and local jurisdictions that prohibit growing castor bean plants, not just the attempt of ricin distillation. Oklahoma most recently. It was a local law where I grew up in Arkansas in the 80s.

Federal folks have been pardoned for simple possession/use or attempted. Some states are working on state-level stuff, but Congress has to act to fully remove the controlled substance status.
