Sorry, I'm trying to get your attention. What about pruning tamed, blackberries?
Thanks for this, it helps a lot. Please keep talking about pruning every year, it takes a long time to learn this stuff when you only do it or hear it once a year!
So thankful for this video. I had no idea that different types of fruit trees and shrubs need to be pruned differently from each other. I look forward to increasing my fruit harvest using these techniques. Thank you James and Tuck!!

I've always said growing vegetables, and growing fruit, are two totally different things. I can grow a vegetable garden. Growing fruit, I'm very limited.
Funny timing, I just pruned my apple trees and my orange tree this morning. I'm still very unsure what I'm doing when it comes to managing an orchard but I heard someone refer to it as being a painter's canvas that will always remain unsigned and that gave me heart
You are a great gardening teacher! Pruning trees is the hardest. You make it so easy to understand. Am bookmarking this! Thanks so much. I love your channel and garden!
I like how Tuck is supervising the grape pruning.
Yikes. I think I pruned my grapes too much. They had become overgrown - not pruned for years and what a tangled mess. Oh well - live and learn, right?

Yeah me with my one apple tree. Now I gotta remember all this great info.
I got nothing to prune but I’ve always got hearts for the boss!!! ❤️💫🐶💫❤️
Not 10 minutes ago, I was just thinking that I need to research how to prune the table grapes that I planted last spring and here is James coming to my rescue. Brilliant timing! Thanks!!
This was very helpful! Can you also talk about pruning pomegranates, currants, and columnar apples? Thanks!
@WingardMT

I was hoping to see the currants included also--ours are old, wild & very productive. Been leaving them so long without a trim, what is a best practice?
As a horticulturalist and teacher, I love when someone is able to break things down for students so they can not only understand but also retain that easy to remember breakdown. You do a very nice job. If you have done several videos about pruning, it would be great if you provided a playlist for everyone, to use as a reference. Even I need a refresher from time to time. 😅
I think at this point i need a book. There's just so much care info on so many varieties of plants, it's overwhelming for a beginner.
Your knowledge is priceless and your enthusiasm is contagious !! I always come to your channel when I am particularly unmotivated to get into the garden and it always helps 😊

Thank you James for another great video. I saved it because this will help us to prune and train our Concord grapes. Love to the little Boss! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I can’t wait to see fruit on my 2 & 3 year old trees! Saving this video for when I get to prune. Your food forest is such an inspiration!
Great advice. Nice to see Tuck being your companion as usual. Miss the boss

BEST VIDEO ON KZread ON PRUNING FRUIT TREES. THANK YOU!!!!
Thanks for the information. I like your approach to pruning. I've watched you pruning videos over the years and find them easy to follow. Last year we had a bumper grape harvest after following your instructions on pruning the vine.
Thanks James and Tuck. I hope my raspberries are a lot bigger this year and more productive. I hope to plant 2 new varieties. If I can figure on making some room.
Love seeing you back James

Excellent video! My parents had a wonderful garden and orchard of trees, berries, and grapes. How I wish I had asked them more about how to get that success. I’m planning an area for this now. So really helpful info!!

Every time I watch one of your videos I get inspired. I only have a small lot to grow on and the only full sun area is in the front yard which is approximately 25 x 50‘. I’d love your thoughts on where and how to grow.fruit trees

Ok, thank you for that quick clarification on pruning grapes. The way you said it in this video made sense. One year old branches, one going in each direction, keep about 5 buds per branch, cut everything else off. Got it! I pruned my vine, about 2 weeks ago, and I was still confused as to how to do it. Fortunately, I pruned it exactly like you said, in this video. I kept one new vine, going in each direction, and kept like 5 buds on each vine.

Hi James, why don't you do a question and answer video once a week, or month, because your fruit and veggies are so healthy, and you do such a great job, i am sure everyone could use so answers. Just a suggestion.♥♥♥

True, they are in the minority though so I didn't want to overcomplicate things. The main idea was that you should let the fruits tell you how to prune a crop and that not every crop even within the same kind is to be pruned the same way. Thanks for sharing that though it is good valuable information 😁
❤❤❤❤❤s for the Lil boss
thanks for the necessary information. I appreciate it.
Hey Tuck! I was wondering where you were. 😃
Good advice bro! GOD BLESS

Let's Gooo!! Thank you for the generous donation Mary Beth, It means a lot to me and the little boss! 😁🐕❤️
This video helped me figure out the difference between my long established summer bearing raspberries that I'm used to caring for, and my two year old ever bearing raspberries that only produced fruit for the first time last September!
I need a video on just soil, recommendations, understanding compost etc. Which is better for containers vs raised bed.
Give little Tuck a head pat from me & a big hello from Patriot (our border collie). Thank you for the raspberry info. My grandfather, my father and my sister (MI) have grown a raspberry (all came out of my grandfathers garden). My sister gave me a start from hers to bring home to WA. I don't know what kind of raspberry it is. Your info will help me know - thank you. Don't know the species but so far it is enjoying and doing well up here on the mountain :) Love your videos and your joyful spirit!
