Jade discusses what her Counselling Psychology Doctorate entails and what she finds most challenging on the course. She also provides tips for anyone looking to apply for the counselling psychology doctorate programme.

This was very helpful! Just curious if she completed her undergraduate degree in reohampton as well? Also if she did a placement at undergraduate level? and was it provided by her uni or she had to look for it herself? Thank you very much. Reply would be very much appreciated 🙂

Has anyone here managed to get their existing employment to count as their first placement? I've seen it's possible on course specifications.

Hi there, Jade was able to use her existing employment at Private Therapy Clinic as her first placement on her Counselling Psychology Doctorate. It just has to be verified by the university. Hope this helps!
Would you say counselling psychology doctorate is quite unaffordable for a lot of people? I'm looking into it but not sure how I'd get by financially

Do I need a research background, to get admission in PHD program??

Research background would be highly beneficial to get onto a doctorate or PhD programme.

@@dr.beckyspelman Okay. That's very kind of you to reply. Do you know any universities which does not need any research experience to enroll in PHD program? So basically easy to get admission.
As an international student, can I do full time doctorate program and do part time job for survival, at the same time??

That completely depends on you and your time management skills. Lots of people find working part time alongside the doctorate manageable but obviously this would depend on the hours, the job, and you. Hope this helps.
