When I listen to you I understand why you got the place. In my opinion it's your personality, warmth, honesty, genuineness, empathy will make you such a good psychologist. Really, what you naturally have is more important than years of experience, knowledge and whatnot. I believe this is your biggest strength in this profession. Most clients are looking for the kind of person-psychologist you are.

Well done on getting into the doctorate in Clin Psy! Thats amazing! You're really not alone in what you're feeling! I'm currently training in South Africa to be a Clinical Psychologist, and it's also such a process to get on to the Masters course here, and I felt the same way as you did when I got into the course last year! There was such a huge relief and a massive weight was lifted off my shoulders but there is such a huge shift in other things that go through your mind! Moving, adulting, moving closer and closer to financial freedom, but there's also such a thing as arrival fallacy and I imagine many of us go through it in psychology, when you finally get into the course after years and years of build up can really leave you with so many other feelings :). Also the clinical psychology training is mad hard, but you can do it! This time next year you'll be looking back at this video feeling so proud of yourself! :)

I love how you express your gratitude to God, it was part of His plan for you so despite the momentary imposter syndrome you might be experiencing, you were destined to get a place on the training course . Good luck with everything 🙏🏾✨

Watching this after processing getting on on my first application (and having mixed feelings about that too!) The whole 'What can I do this summer to prepare and be ready for training' is literally me right now haha. I'm starting to try to think about how to build my confidence and relax as well. Thanks for your video, I resonated with so much of what you were saying. Loved the bit about preparing for when times get tough and self-care!

I have a question, did you take a year out to get experience before applying to the doctorate?
