Shout out to Spoon for duking it out with a werewolf armed only with kitchenware, willpower, and a pair of cojones.
This is probably one of my all time favourite movies to be honest. It shows how amazing a film can be in a really simple form. Plus we get Spoon beating a Werewolf with a pan. I mean what more do we need? 🤣

I love how in this movie, the werewolves don't just howl and growl, they straight up roar like lions.
Spoon fighting that werewolf is such a classic scene! Brilliant film
This is comedy gold and freaky at the same time! - Sean Pewtry actually got pissed for that bit and the actor actually hit him after he asked. British film making at its best.

This is such a campy fun movie for me. I only just watched it for the first time a few years back and I can't say I've seen anything like it since which gives it a special charm
Definitely one of my favorite werewolf designs, probably the best live action werewolves. It’s basically “predators” movie meets werewolf lore - and somehow that works so well. Loved this movie
This movie is SO quotable and the perfect mix of funny and scary and thrilling. It takes itself just seriously enough to be dramatic and make you feel each of these deaths, but it also gives you a laugh here and there to break the tension just long enough to get you ready for the next sprint.
I live in Chicago. Around 4 years ago, I found this film in blu ray at a Dollar Tree store for $1. I heard of it but never seen it. I was like: "$1? What the hell. Can't go wrong." After watching it I was like "How is this masterpiece of a movie sitting in a bin at a dollar store?" What a travesty. This film is definitely in top 10 werewolf films of all time. I would put it at #2.
Such a fun movie, shame it gets little recognition. The werewolf costumes are amazing, way better than Howling in my opinion, and the main characters all have their charms. Plus this is the only movie we see an absolute Chad named Spoon beat one down with a frying pan!!

Spoon is one of my fav characters in a film because he acts like it’s life or death and that means he’s going to use it all at hand to try and win his battle.
This is my favorite werewolf movie. I love the werewolf costume and the practical effects. If it was made today they would ruin it with too much CGI.

There was a deleted story arc. Cooper's g/f had just left him & he was, basically, bitter about it throughout which is why some of the lines feel a bit off. Not that I'm a bit obsessed with this film. 🤣
Good werewolf movies are a rare breed. I went into this back in the day expecting meh and got wow. So, good stuff. We need more good werewolf movies. It's my favorite kind of monster and we see so few good ones. 🐾🐾🍻

FYI super glue (Cyanoacrylates) actually have more uses than just a glue. Some of them can also be used to help stick wounds together, particularly in combat situations where temporary fixes for lacerations until stitches can be put in are often necessary.
2 fun facts. 1) The Whiskey was real & Pertwee was drunk. 2) The punch in that scene actually connected & that is real blood.
I saw this at a 24 hour Horror Marathon. I was in the VIP area, and while watching this, I struck up a conversation with the guy sitting next to me. It turned out he was a producer on Dog Soldiers. The audience went wild when it looked like the dog was pulling on Sean’s intestines. The producer said everyone mistakes the bandages for internal organs. It was completely unintentional, but he laughter. He was a really nice guy. He signed my poster “I hope I give you the shits!”
Definitely 10 out of 10 for me , especially as this had only a small budget . I love this film, the actors are all so talented, they play their characters as if they're real people. I particularly love Sean Pertwee's scene where he was talking about his friend with the tattoo, just brilliant acting. the script, the scenery, the atmosphere , everything was awesome. 👏👏☺️
Thanks for covering this film. I was one of those that recommended it among so many others who did. Glad you enjoyed it!
8:45 "They're not gonna fucking fit!" I remember a story once from a friend of mine who's dad was in Nam. He's dad once saw this one guy, an M60 gunner, man got wounded from shrapnel this man had his guts out. Next thing he did, he calmly shove his intestines back in, wrap a poncho around his waist and tied the sleeves up before picking up his M60 again, laid it on a rock and start returning fire. He survived. I actually wanted to talk to his dad for the details, or even better if he knew the guy well, but the man died 4 years from lung cancer, before I met my buddy who told the story. So it's quite literally a "believe it or not" scenario (sorry boys).
My favourite werewolf movie, it's so relentlessly British with the dialogue too. 'I hope I give you the shits' absolute perfection.
Ginger Snaps is also a cult classic werewolf film 🖤
So glad to see you reacting to this film. This film is so underrated.
One of my all time faves. I think it works mainly because you genuinely like these characters, and that the werewolves are genuinely scary. You should rewatch it with the commentary sometime; the main actors/director get progressively drunk and it’s hilarious.

@@jwhite-1471 Well, you might need a multi-region DVD player. Which I don't have anymore, unless my PC will work. It's the British release, and I am not british.
Super glue was actually originally intended for sticking wounds together
This movie needs to be on Netflix or any streaming service. To finally gain the recognition it deserves and expand the fan base.
My favorite werewolf film. Probably in my top 10 favorite movies of all time, actually.
Easily the best modern warewolf movie, a bit campy at times but gritty and frantic af, with stellar performances by everyone involved, especially Kevin Mckidd who went on to play the soldier Vorenus in ROME. Thanks for the review guys
Bad Moon is good too. In short, is the story of a dog defending its human family from a werewolf that...sadly belongs to the same family.
Love this movie with a passion. Badass movie and with a badass cast. Love that there's no CGI, just practical effects. Not often you see a person get a fist fight with a werewolf
It's criminal that this classic got a sequel.
The filmmakers wanted to make a soldier movie with werewolves, not a werewolf movie with soldiers. Each of the soldiers indeed feels unique, and their interactions make the movie great. FYI: they hired professional dancers to play the werewolves. They wore prosthetic leg "extenders" on their feet and shins, giving them extra height and the dog-like lower limbs.
The actor playing the hero is the actor who portrayed soap in the original modern warfare trilogy
Dog Soldier is such a fun movie. I loved it.
One of the werewolf costumes was sold at auction a while back. I missed out on that because I certainly would have bid on it.
YEEAAAHH! I was so excited when I saw this on my feed. This movie is rad as hell and it feels like nobody knows about it. Glad you were able to share this with your audience ;)
Super Glue was originally developed and used as emergency field sutures (stitches) by the Americans in Vietnam. Not sure if its still used anywhere but in a pinch it will close a wound.

I enjoyed this movie. As the comments states, it's campy and fun. Being this was Neil Marshall's 1st/debut film, it's easy to see how similar they are to his movie "The Descent." Very underrated werewolf film.
the best cast commentry on a DVD ever.
Thank you lol, I've been requesting this film to channels for years. It's a hidden gem (as far as werewolf movies go) glad y'all got to it haha. This was amazing keep up the great work fellas.
Hubby and I watched this movie while on holiday in a little cottage in the woods - in the Scottish Highlands. We didn't get much sleep after that!
"There is no Spoon" When that line came up, i hsd to pause the movie because i was laughing so hard i wasnt paying attention anymore.
So, fun little bit here: that second punch was very, very real. According to Sean Pertwee, he was drunk during that scene and being a pain in the ass. He was supposed to get knocked out by the first punch, but he was being an ass and over-acted...so he got knocked the hell out for real when that second punch went. That's why the second punch sounded different. It was the sound of Sean getting knocked the fuck out.
If this came out in 2022 people would be raving about it.
A lot of fun, this movie. Funnily enough the same strong points carry across the director's entire reportoire but with the exception of Centurion his convoluted plotting just keeps ramping up and up

This and the Crow definitely getting my Teenage years with these films great choices. 💯💯💯
Love this film, watched it so many times, love Sean Pertwee in this but he's brilliant in every film he's done to be fair. Such an underestimated film it could've been very cliche and cheesy but all of it was so well done which is difficult for a werewolf film which has been done to death.
Dog Soldiers and An American Werewolf in London are imho the best werewolf movies out there. Both have a nice amount of comedy mixed into the horror. I mean "I hope I give you the shits!" is just quality.
The werewolfs are actually ballets dancers dressed as werewolfs, fun facts
"My name is Tom and behind the camera we have Shaun." Is this gonna be on the final exam? In all seriousness, this is my favorite werewolf movie and I'm glad you boys enjoyed it as much as I did. Definitely put British Horror on my radar. The creature special effects artist from this also made werewolf movie called Howl. It was pretty decent IMO. It's free on KZread for anyone interested.
This is still one of my favourite werewolf movies. Also my first introduction to both Sean Pertwee and Liam Cunningham, bloody great movie. And bloody bloody.

Why the movie is great, you want all of them to live. Like the part where Cooper is yelling about how his squadmate would be watching the game but he's in this bullshit situation.
I REALLY like Dog Soldiers! Both Vampires and Werewolves quite often are characters in a genre that kinda annoys me - "romantic horror" (like, of course, Twilight). And they're often characters the viewer is supposed to feel sad for. Tragic characters. Dog Soldiers has none of that bull - it's Werewolves are proper scary monsters. And dangerous too, taking out two bunches of soldiers (and the first one even knew they were there). And I love that it's a movie from the UK. Me I'm German and I watch English movies in the original - and I like the sound of the European English dialects (including the Scottish and the Irish ones) much more than the American ones. Dunno why. ^^

@@el34glo59 I haven't missed the point, I just don't like it, I'm not it's target audience. 1 X Chromosome too many. ;) (jsut kidding, it's fine if you like that kind of stuff when you're a guy too). Sexy, brooding, sad vampires with a tragic background story simply don't do it for me. My favourite story about a dead guy who needs the blood of the living is Hellraiser.
Fun fact: The 'Fing Hit me properly!' sean pertwee actually got roaring drunk for the scene, the first punch is a mime, the second one Mckidd misjudged the distance and the punch actually connected, depending on which commentary you're listening to either broke his nose, or came very close to breaking his nose. but apparently pertwee didn't feel a thing thanks to the aid of a litre bottle of bells whiskey. And since you seem to be a fan of horror type movies. id like to recommend the movie 'Threads' its not scary as in 'slasher villain chasing you at night time' its more scary in a 'this could happen next Tuesday' sort of dread. i fully recommend it as in my opinion even on the shoestring budget they had the effects still stand up to this day (save for maybe the ET looking prop getting incinerated) Though you may want to keep some snacks on hand to depression eat through the film as it gets very very bleak in the second half. But theres a good reason it usually tops 'scariest films ever made' lists.
So happy to see you both react to Dog Soldiers! Arguably my favourite werewolf movie of all time. Sean Pertwee was great in this.
Two decades ago was a great time of reinventing the werewolf film. Two years before this came Ginger Snaps. Also a bit underrated.

Those 2 punches were real, he actually got drunk. They also had dancers in the Werewolf costumes to get their elegance? Can't think of another word to describe them
absolutely love Dog Soldiers, i remember going to see it at the cinema with my Big Brother and we where the only two people there(it was so awesome to watch it on the big screen without other people making noise)
This movie was made in 2002. It is an okay film because there is not CGI, which is how werewolf films should be made.
Have one recommendation in movie for you: The Grey (2011), this movie is excellent.
I think Sean pointed out how cheesy this flick feels at times, and he's 100% right, this was a Sci-Fi channel TV movie. It has a combination of creative storytelling, great talent on both sides of the camera, and exceptional use of a limited budget that just shines. Add to it the distinct lack of decent werewolf movies out there and you can see how this got a cult following immediately.

Yes! I love this film and I love that you did a reaction to it (my Cinema Rules wish list) and that you rated it so high. I think Dog Soldiers balances so many different things and so well. Violence, humour, drama, effects, action and more. Its an absolute banger! If you're looking for more Neil Marshall, check out Doomsday. Its big budget Mad Max style action adventure. I wouldn't say its as good as Dog Soldiers but it's really fun. And for Werewolf movies; Ginger Snaps. Nice one, boys. ❤️

Loved your reaction to the visceral nature of this film, guys - thanks. My first experience of your channel - will definitely be watching more!
The guy who plays Sergeant Wells also plays Alfred the butler on Gotham, and pretty much plays it the EXACT same as he does here.
FINALLY …. You are watching my FAVORITE WEREWOLF MOVIE! I love that it doesn’t try to compete with A. W.I.L. in regards to the transformation scene . It knew it couldn’t be topped .. so it didn’t try. I love there is no CGI .. but uses costumes . I love that the werewolves are no bipedal Lycanthropes and not on all fours . Just a great fun film.
I remember when i watched this for the first time. At the end i was confused whether to cry or laugh
IMO this is the second best werewolf movie ever made, it's so good!
This is one of the rare cases of a good Werewolf movie and I love Werewolves more than Vampires but it's so hard to make a good Werewolf film do to the special effects needing to be completely believable or it all falls apart, plus everything else that makes a good film. Recommendation: Wolf (1994) staring Jack Nicholson, Michelle Pfeiffer, James Spader and directed by Mike Nichols.
This film reinforces the stereotype we foreigners have that Scotland isn't exactly the Ibiza of the UK.
Thanks Guys for this reaction Think I was one of the people who suggested this movie. Saw it last year for the first time and liked it a lot!
