Dog Care Dog Training Collar from Amazon 1 year review.

After 1 year of use, how does the Dog Training Collar from Dog Care hold up? UPDATE: I just received another one for a new puppy, and now it does have an on/off button on the collar!

    Not one of my proudest moments lol. The mechanics have changed slightly on the new ones, theres an on/off button on the collar itself now. hold the button in until the collar vibrates, then turn the remote on.

    Thanks Ray Ray! I need to invest in this when our dog 'escapes' and runs the neighborhood for 30 minutes- particularly when we are leaving to go out. Thanks for all the great pipe videos as well (courtesy of Paladin).

    How has this not gone viral? I respect the hell out of you for testing it on yourself. I'm gonna be honest. I thought about it and couldn't make myself hit the button. Gotta admit though, turned it up and forgot about it and hit yourself at 99, that's some funny shit.

    Thank you for reminding about the strength of the shock. Our rescue Lab had been shocked repeatedly by the previous owners. In turn this caused major damage to one of his salivary glands. They then dumped him in a high kill shelter. Surgical repair had to be performed by a specialist costing $2900.00 (the rescue reimbursed us). To this day he is scared of that beep (i.e. when I was watching your video☹️)

    Those rubber covers I would assume are for “soft” dogs. Some dogs will get shocked and just stop. Takes all their drive out and they go into a shut down. So instead of listening, it just makes things worse lol. So to prevent an accidental shock and make things worse, just cover them up. Again… I’m only assuming.

    I have had one of these for 2 years maybe 3 and am just now having problems with only the controller. I am very rough on it, and use it multiple times a day on walks, so I'd say it has held up nicely. The signal length is very long at full charge and the collar still has a good battery life. My dog gets accidentally shocked more than purposely, that is the only downside. I wish the shock button wasn't so large and easily pressed, though the locking feature is nice, the button is still easily accidentally pressed almost every time you forget to lock it..

  • @RayRay80

    @RayRay80

    Agreed, a recessed shock button, or having the lock feature only lock the shock but keep the vibrate and audible functions could be much more user friendly. Thank you for your input!

    I saw a video that the man was pushing on The top of the receiver and you could hear a beep turning it on and off but I can't seem to find any buttons on mine nor is there one listed in the instruction manual on the diagram of the parts of the receiver. Could you tell me where it's located?

  • @icie4u
    @icie4u2 жыл бұрын

    Please tell me this one doesn’t have a motion sensored “sleep mode.” Just got a different model and it goes into sleep mode after two minutes of no motion and requires us to physically power the collar back on to activate the remote control again. No form of motion is bringing it out of sleep mode as the instructions say it will do. So frustrating and totally useless when he starts obsessively barking in the middle of the night.

    I only use the collar and only audible for correction. I've found that treats, praise and rewarding are much better for them to attend to commands. Hey you have to name sure the prongs are touching her neck not her coat and it should not be any where near 25 the most you should need to go up is 15 and I have a super reactive German shepherd but that is advised from dog trainers. Use the long prongs with no rubber tip because rubber stops electrical flow so she can’t feel anything with the tips on and make sure it’s touching her skin but keep changing the position every couple of days so you don’t rub her neck raw and cause sores. You will see a difference start it back at 1 And stop once you see her head turn that’s when you have her attention don’t go higher unless It’s necessary
