I have owned powerloc dogs for a few years. That are fantastic and so versatile . I have made jigs for my table , the powerloc dogs hold the jig steady with out any clamps in the way just like you have done with your grinder. A way to bore your holes exact every is to use the UJK Park guide. I know not everyone will have that but if you ever need to make MFT tops it works excellent.

So many great ideas in here. You could also use nylock marine nuts for the grinder mount. 😊

Thank you, this is a great idea! You guys are an endless source of inspiration. I had considered buying a small pedestal stand for my bench grinder but I will do this instead. Was thinking maybe you could utilize an old discarded MFT/3 top, cutting that up into several plates and the dog holes would already be there.

Very useful! I can see using this for several jigs and small machinery. The mobile work bench for my Kapex I’ve been working on, the technique you demonstrated using an existing MFT top as a reference will be helpful for me because I want to bore holes in my bench’s MDF top that mirror the MFT’s (just 4) so that when I re-position my Kapex, it goes in the exact same location. Very timely video!

Great idea. UJK Powerlocks are relatively new on the market. To mount my Father-in-law's small vice to my MFT years ago, I used a piece of "L" shaped plywood, to have 20mm dog holes, and some bolts on the front rail to lock the vice to the MFT. slide on, position over a dog hole, drop a long dog into the hole, tighten up the front knobs, and that vice is not going anywhere. Did that for several tools and it works great.
