I'm back with another music production tutorial. In this video I will answer the question, Does SONARWORKS SoundID Really Work?!! For everyone looking for a sonarworks tutorial or a soundID review, this one's for you! Room acoustics and studio acoustics is a big topic for all music production and beat making so let's find out if sonarworks can fix room acoustics. I'm using Ableton Live, but all of these techniques and principles are applicable to Logic, Cubase, Reason, FL Studio, Studio One, Bitwig and all other popular DAW's.

i ended up not using sonarworks anymore. i personally like the sound of my genelecs much more without correction. i finally learnt how they sound and switching back and forth from them to smaller speakers and also to my trusted mm500 is the workflow i enjoy more personally. its also not so practical switching to diffrent monitoring with sonarworks i think.

What’s your advice for the sweetspot for this speakers? I found out that’s like it more to sit more between them and not in the perfect triangle. But I get a bit confused because when I move my head back just 5 cm the sound completely changes. I already made a Sonarworks measurement and checked the 30 degree angele etc. but there is still a gap exactly at 62hz and a huge push at 120hz. But this is changing drastically when I move my head within the sweetspot! Any hints?

Download the Home Studio Treatment Framework and follow it. It's pretty easy, works specifically for your room and set up. This is exactly what I followed and it gets the best results. Great KZread channel too @AcousticsInsider www.acousticsinsider.com/home-studio-treatment-framework

That's the point. Most, or probably all headphones are colouring the sound in some way. It's not about if they sound better or worse, it's about if they sound more flat.

I think Sound id makes my monitors too flat. It kind of functions like a dynamic EQ or a compressor removing all the lowend energy where most of the information is. Killing your creativity. Anyone else having the same issue?

How is your acoustic treatment looking? I think that sound ID works better the less it has to do. If it's changing the sound dramatically, it could be something that needs to be fixed in the room. Also, when you're a being with and without make sure you are doing it in the sound ID software, because if you turn it on and off you will hear it with and without the gain reduction that the software applies. The difference in volume will distort your perception and swear you towards the louder one.

@@dilbydj I have a lot if thick traps setup but it ofcourse always be better. I have looked at others calibration and theirs look similar to mine. No room is perfect. I just think it makes the sound dull.
