We haven't even begun to get going in an attacking sense this season due to injuries (Martial, Antony), illness (Sancho), and lack of preseason/lack of form (Ronaldo). A lot of people are in for a shock during the second half of the season I think, especially if we can get another striker in (Gakpo?).

The only reason Giggs didn't have the same 'International' reputation is because He played for Wales(Who were sht) It is also a major contributor to the longevity of his career. Absolute Legend.

Great to see Rashford doing the same thing for England that he's been doing for United this season. Both goals had a bit of luck about them and his finishing could improve, but his work rate, pressing and the way he committed players was excellent. ETH deserves a lot of credit for the way he's coached Marcus this year.

Joel and Ste are great. However Rio shows his great humilty to work alongside them as peers. This is so rare it needs to be mentioned. Rio is exceptional. Who else switches from mainstream TV punditry to working with fans, albeit very entertaining, talented, knowledgeable presenters that they are in their own right.

There's more to it than that though. Joel and Ste aren't just football fans. They have experience in the online space that Rio lacked. You often see high profile people setting up KZread channels and their name will carry it to an extent but ultimately they don't really know what they're doing. Ste's experience with Stretford Paddock for example will have been invaluable to Rio, especially early on.

Giggs at his peak was easily among the baggio,romario,bebeto'..world class!

Rashford feels confident again..so happy for him 🙌🏽❤️

the giggs, rooney, bale debate is a tough one. my first memories of supporting man utd were in about 1991 and giggsy was 'the man'. he was the most talked about player and posterboy for man utd for about 10 years before beckham was in the spotlight. he faded into the background a bit by the early 2000's but he was always a decent player

Fella just coz he born and raised doesn't mean he deserves a new contract. He been inconsistent for over 5 years only once in 6 seasons he hit 20 goal mark a season. Whilst playing the most minutes in the squad since his debut bar de gea. Is he really worth 300k a week 5 year deal ??? Dunno about that tbh. He yet to be consistent this season.

Rio is 100% right about Giggs. THANK YOU! And it wasn't just the Premier League - he was cutting through the best defences in Europe like butter (i.e. best defenders in the world at that time). Ste and Joel are absolutely forgetting how good/ how dangerous he was. Rashford's performance yesterday was good but doesn't come close to what Giggs would do. Then there's the fact that late 30's - he was still being a very productive player in the latter stages of the Champions League

Listen to Rio guys - never before had the premier league seen a man with the audacity giggs had to take a man on with speed and attack defensive players in such a fearless manner- he tore players to absolute shreds left side right side cuts in cuts out whips balls across to Hughes, Cole, Mcclair, Cantona, Yorke - running at you with pure pace and his ability to dribble had defenders looking like Bambi on ice. He had goals he has assists and made full backs literally scared to play man United - There were several years back to back Giggs was the most sought after player on the planet but Fergie kept him under wraps!! In my eyes, it's not even that close, Rooney was literally the greatest all round footballer I have ever seen.. like put Messi and Ronaldo against Rooney 1v1 and Rooney wins every time.. mainly because neither Ronaldo or Messi were efficient at defending a man, only the attacking side.. Rooney could play in goal and still do a job.. Rooney was the man, weird that the lads didn't bring up anyone else though, I would say a few more lads could be in the mix.. like I hate this guy, but my dad talks about Souness like he invented football. Giggs was incredible and he changed the game and actually paved the way for the Bale we saw rip up la liga.. And past players charlton for me, and it's a damn tragedy that the Busby babes didn't mature.. few of the lads in that might have had a shout as well. RIP boys, never forgotten.

Also Joel was wrong about zindane not being signed because of Giggs.. Cantona told SAF about zizou, SAF thought he played the same position as Cantona so didn't make a move for him.. imagine the midfield we could have had.. scholes , zizou, Cantona, Beckham, Keane.. woooofff!

Rashford needs to be consistent. He's always had the quality.

People forget, in the early 90s, giggs was unbelievable. Watch footage kids. His dribbling, pace, passing, crossing, long range goals were insane. When he lost a bit of pace because of hamstring injuries, he became a different, less exciting player in the mid to late 90s. His explosive phase was very short. Even by 99 he wasn't the same player in terms of excitement.

Keane? Can you share a video compilation on KZread or anywhere highlighting the level of quality that suggest he's the best British player please? Keane for me was a great character, good leader. Football quality wise he was decent around. Not even world class at peak in my opinion. The others you mentioned are clear cut. Scholes, Beckham, Gerrard, Giggs, Bale, Rooney, Owen at peak potentially, Keane has never been outstanding. But I stand to be corrected if you can provide some clips or compilation etc..

Possibly because they are loved for England yet at United we see them week in week out for the average players they really are so there's more pressure to play for United every week especially when you been less than average for two years almost I don't want either to sign a new deal until we see improvement week in week out I don't care of rashfords an academy grad Robbie savage was in the academy and he was bang average rashford is no better than welbeck for me just quicker

Agree with Rio here about Giggs. Giggs was up there with Beckham Bale and Rooney in terms of peak too. He was tearing the Premier League and UCL apart from 1992-1999. Ste and Joel’s point is invalid. During Rooney’s peak of 2004-2008 there were also other best players in the world (Zizou Henry Kaka) Same for Beckham’s era (Ronaldo Rivaldo Zizou).

The PL in the early to mid 90's was a second tier league(5th best in Europe), when Bale and Rooney played it was top 2 with some of the world best players

italy played a high pressing system at the euros with bonucci and chiellini at the back. When people say you cant play a highline with a slower defender its nonsense its lazy punditry. barca done it with pique. not saying maguire is near those defenders just saying it can be done.

If we're talking all time, Sir Bobby, Best and Dalglish belong in the greatest convo with Rooney and Bale. Giggs is an honourable mention. Probs finishes 6th place after them, with Bale just ahead of him in 5th. But I honestly couldnt pick a number 1. The other 4 all have justified arguments.

He also remains the top scorer in the history of English football while not being the penalty taker but taking corners...and he retired at 31. He was a devastating goal scorer and could beat people. And again, I'm not acting like he wasn't an elite goalscoring machine and I'm not downplaying his importance to getting to a world cup final. But the others were talked about by the European and South American greats of their time and even beyond their time. Imo, to be the greatest you gotta have the skill, stats,, impact/legacy, and trophies to back it up. Greaves has 2 of the 4, again imo.

Hell yeah does he deserve a contract, he needs to be tied down to a long term contract, made the face of Man Utd and be lauded for his work outside football. I see a future United captain in him... I just hope he becomes the highest ever goal scorer as well, a Manchester bred youngster being a club legend is the ideal outcome. Marcus Rashford is potentially world Class that has gone to the world cup. He's an inside striker or winger, central striker on odd occasion, but a useful player to have around & as the capabilities to be as good as e.g. Kylian Mbappé. Good attitude & approach for the game but his awareness & link up play has to improve, so there's room for improvement + he's Man Utd through & through. Keep it Up, Marcus! Marcus Rashford does deserves an improve contract cos his potential is immense!

Giggs was electrifying as a youngster and a great vet, but at 27 considered retiring due to multiple hamstring injuries. Did a segment on my channel about this, but we’re small time. Peak Becks over Peak Giggs all day. Bale was actually reaching Cristiano levels before he went to Madrid but won nothing in England yet had mammoth moments abroad but lets not push the oldies to a side when you talk ALL TIME.
