I can confirm it accelerated retinopathy in my eyes ..I came off as I was experiencing gastric issues ..so much I ended up with duonitis and osophagitis plus severe flatulence ..not funny ..horrible . I recently was put back on low dose of Oz ...again I suffered slight blur on reading small messages on my phone . I decided to stop Oz immediately.. I have no experience of wegovy ...I have a question about vegetable juicing for eye health .. Thank you for your presentation and education . Hugh please feel free to message me privately ..

My Opthalmologist has noticed a surprising and sudden advanced stage of macular degeneration for my age and I was trying to see if it was related. I have no symptoms that are related to this diagnosis. Are there any studies related to this issue? I do understand that it's not the same as retinopathy.

Thank you Dr. Rupa, your videos are so interesting. Is that why they say your eyes will get worse before they get better once you start to get your sugar under control?

I started ozempic a month ago and now I have vision loss in my left eye. I got extremely sick with ozempic I told my diabetic RN and she took me off of it saying I didn't tolerate it. I feel my vision loss is connected with ozempic.

Yes! That would be great!… and maybe looking at the ingredients of adhesives. Does black vs. clear really have a significant risk associated with either one? I use many brands and change them often, use isopropyl like it’s going out of style on every tool… but also had basal cell carcinoma in lower lid (not associated with lashes) and I’ve been doing a lot of research just myself on the glues. So far I think it’s more about how you place them, remove them, sanitise, and changing often. I’d love to hear a Doctor’s expertise though!

The thing is does this cause the diabetic retinopathy if you're not diabetic? I ask because I already have retina issues (unrelated).

Could I get a scotoma after stopping semaglutide a couple weeks before? And is it permanent?

I have significant blurry vision after three doses of Ozempic. Went to ophthalmologist vision change was 20/40 to 20/60. Corrective lenses helped very little. That was two months ago and vision hasn’t improved. I also take a high dose of gabapentin. I quit take the ozempic, but wonder if I could go back on it. I am 50 pounds overweight and have.high cholesterol. The vision issue has a high impact on my life. Any thoughts. Thank you.

I told my retina specialist about my blurry vision and she said to ask my primary doctor? I am also stopping Ozempic. I was in the 2 mg dose

Interesting because I’ve been using ozempic for 9 months now and in April I noticed my eyes were itchy and I had crusty eyes in the morning we’ll fast forward and 7 eye appointments later I’ve been diagnosed with dry eye 👁️ but my vision is blurry and I have to wear glasses permanently 😢help can I reverse this!

Oh no. I am sorry you are experiencing this. Definitely get with an eye doctor and the doctor prescribing you Ozempic.

I started what seemed to be the second day after using Ozampic having slight blurred vision. Will this vison blurryness go away soon

Did it go away ? I’m on my first week with blurry vision on one eye and I have a 2 year old and 4 month old I am so scared and sad and afraid that my sight will not come back to normal

Hi Rupa, A very interesting, "diet review". I was not aware of these effects - on the retina. Your helping your own three children with, "off label", prevention of myopia - impresses me the most. You are the first two ophthalmologists who are helping their own children in this way. I completely support this science - based concept.

Every drug has negative affects and one of the side affects of taking OZEMPIC is severe damage to the blood vessel of the eyes it's not easy to loose any amount of weight and keep it off for the rest of your life but loosing your eye sight is something nobody wants or deserves just to become healthier.Ask yourself does the benefits outweigh the risk ?

Doc not diabetic but pre diabetic and high cholesterol. I am on my first dose of .25 ozempic day 5 and i woke up with some blurry vision. Is this just a side effect or something to worry about?

My vision is becoming more blurred. I already had my yearly eye. exam. .

I have Sarcoidosis and now I’m thinking twice before I take these medications 😬

Having long term SCR (10 plus years) I took Ozempic for only a month of doses.. my left eye is with SCR, my right eye had impairment in the peripheral.. it frightened the starch out of me. I discontinued and my vision returned to poor.

The blurry vision is temporary? I’m not a diabetic

@@DrRupaWong it goes away with mirtazapine pills use but not with paroxetine, amitriptyline or any other antidepressants

What about Trulicity dulaglutide? Does it cause the same vision changes? As a side note, I can't easily get my Trulicity for my diabetes currently becauae people are using these meds to lose 10 or 15 pounds and the people that need it for diabetes can't get their refills! This is so wrong. I was told the diabetics that can't get their Ozempic now are being put on Trulicity so people that were on Trulicity can't get it now. I do not know if non diabetics are taking Trulicity for weight loss or of its the Ozempic diabetics now taking Trulicity that is causing the Trulicity shortage.

For me Trulicity did the same thing ozempic did just not as fast. Both of them affect the eye very bad.

Will Ozempic affect macular degeneration?

Do you think Ozempic could cause swollen optic nerves with vision loss in 25% of the eye?

That new study just out re blindness. Not worth risk to me. I stopped it.

I am thinking about calling my diabetes nurse and ask if I really need Ozempic, have been taking it for 3 years and all the potential side effects is scaring me. Maybe it is enough to just change your lifestyle. Can you get Blepharitis from Ozempic? Or no correlation?

I've been on ozempic for diabetes for a year. I've had a lot of hair loss and blurred vision. I was diagnosed with glaucoma a month ago. Be very careful with this medication!

@@shanchan8247 Sorry to hear that! Are you sure it was due to Oze? Because I've read you can get it from untreated diabetes and that Oze is supposed to help against it.

Ozempic makes my eyes swollen, red, irritated with the formation of white mucus in the eye.

This video makes me really scared, hopefully Ozempic doesn't damage the eyes worse
