GENUINELY grinned when it fired up. Lot of love for the Mk5 GTI - had one myself. Great work - enjoyable vid :)
"Nah, nah, bugger it, I'm confident" The quote of the week! :)

I tend to overdose mine for a better effect 🤣
Great to see it fire up Dean. It amazes me how complicated modern car engines are to service and repair. The number of pipes and sensors that are totally inaccessible without a major strip down is unbelievable. Good job you have the benefit of VAG training and know a lots of tricks of the trade, only known by actually doing the job 👍😎
That genuine happy face at the point it started up had me chuckling away - there is the face of a man that had no doubts that it would fire up LMFAO. Love it. Great work fella and another great vid. Keep them coming.
Sounded so smooth and quiet when it fired up. No idea what loud clicking sound it while it's turning over. Also that face picture when it started, amazing 😂

Injectors perhaps, without any fuel supply to them?

I do like it when a plan comes together nicely. Well done I would hold on to that could get a ko4 make it 360bhp would be a good bit of content. 👍🏼

Great video as usual 🎉
Quality sounds decent aswell, another good video nice one😎

Sounds a healthy happy motor, great job....jobbed
Nice one Dean , give yourself a pat on the back . That one must be nearly there mate. Looking forward to the TVR videos , those mice bother me mate. Cheers
Best best best....can't wait to see it rolling 👍
When the gloves come off ... 💪 Brilliant. Great vid.
if you forget to prime the turbo and dont want to re disturb the banjo bolt crush washers, use something to stop the turbo blade from spinning while the engine is started, something like a wooden serving spoon or similar, once the engine is running and oil has circulated, reconnect everything and job done.
Ive just had some supplied and fitted Comline front and rear disks and pads from my local tyre shop for £652, Vauxhall wanted nearer to £1k and they work great!
Great video Dean 😃😃😃😃
Another success- Well Done Dean :)
just did my rear main seal and inner cv plus boost pipe. after i have completely overhauled the engine. have a mk5 gti and everytime i drive her it never seems to disappoint me! 300hp stage 2 downpipe res delete and R8 coils. Next mod is air intake. :)
Beautiful! Great content
Woo, and might I add, hoo!!!! She's a runner 😊 That was an afternoons work all up right? 😜 Modern engines really aren't designed with maintenance in mind. Oh well, get that cam sensor replaced so the ECU knows where the timing is, few odds n ends and jobs a goodun 👍
Great success!
Great video mate 👌
The cam "sensor" you talk about is the N205 - it's a solenoid for the VVT. It doesn't stop starting. The ignition just needs turned over a few times and the fuel rail bled of air which is what that squeaky door noise is when you turn the key. That fuel rail holds nearly 200ml so it takes a long time for the injectors to purge the air and let fuel pressure build.
Nice job you whacked though this like it was light work 👍
Well done fella 👍
Loving the calpol syringe... I'd be the same. They only get chucked away anyway, so happy days.
Great info .. thanks 🙏🏻 That coolant pipe breaks if you look at it the wrong way, terrible design
Great watch, top man 👌
Lovely job!!!
There is a set of tools that hold the crank fast on the bell house.(there is a hole on top with a timing mark in it.) And a tool to hold the cams on the opposite end from the pulley.
Sounds sweet.
Nice result 👍👍
Bloody marvellous 👏
Enjoyed this one cheers.
Brilliant stuff 👏 👌
By the way there are 2 or 3 other UK utubers who are doing videos on working on the tvr .you might want to contact them and they may have extra parts or information on the car.I lost their names, but I’m sure you can find them.good video, keep doing what your doing.😎😎😎👍👍👍
Nicely done 👍😊
She's a runner 👌
that face at the end 😂 congratulations 🎉
Nice job dude
I believe it will start
Sounds sweet
Evening mate 👍
The syringe incident will be our little secret 😁😁 I hope, we will see more of the TVR ... I watch all your vids ... tho I am not a fan of german crap ... those vids are interesting nevertheless 😁
Well done.... sweeeeeeet....
She's purring like a beauty!
Here for the tvr. Here to stay
When are you selling this ?? Great video as always 👍👍
Unbeknown to me I used my wife’s last Calpol syringe the other day to remove some excess brake fluid on her Audi A3. She wasn’t happy! 🙄😂
Beautiful.... jobs a good'en👍👍👍👍
I Have the same engine on the Audi a3 😊
Ye boi! 💥👏💪🤙
Must’ve been a relief not to hear nasty rumbles and clonks from the bottom end 😄
Great job sounded sweet as a nut
Mate recently crashed his mk5 40 mph head on with a vw transporter some how both walked away luckily
Batteries always help 😂
Couldn’t you have put the cam belt on with the crank pulley then timed it up and then fit the belt?
👍👍👍
👌🏽
Beautiful 🤩 😂😂😂
Do you not pre fill the oil filter before fitting?
Comline, quality. Are you serious?
Evening
👍👊🚘
That waterpump is going to leak very soon 😢
tvr all day then ,an you find a 2.8 granada ghia .
Anyone who owns a VW crosses their fingers every time they start it.

Admit it, you just edited the engine sound in, it was dead as a doornail.

Yep, I’m now just sat here crying 😭
Lol how can you say the oil filter housing is a crap design when you're doing everything wrong with it. There's a drain nipple on the bottom of the filter cap that prevents that mess and you're meant to install the filter into the cap, not the housing.
@SavingSalvage

Because I don’t have the tool to drain it 😂.. and also it still makes a bit of a mess even if you drain it. And draining it takes ages. So I stand by my original statement 🤣. EA888 oil filter is much better.
@grahamek86

@@SavingSalvage If you press the nipple with a Philips head and angle it backwards towards the block, the drain bung locks open and drains cleanly into the container below. Once it stops dripping, push it up again and center it and it'll lock back down and seal. The only time I've made a mess is when the cap that screws in with the little tether has fallen down and interrupted the flow and sent oil in all direction. The EA888s are messy if you open them too quick and it's almost impossible to clean up all the spillage, with the 113 it's at least at the bottom of the engine so if it gets on the coolant hoses etc you can just drown it in brake cleaner.
