There is a thing called scare in Japan. It is a doll standing on the ground to prevent birds from eating rice grown in the land where rice is grown. This is something that has been around for a long time, and it just sticks the doll in the ground, but it works very well for birds. In Japan, people who are useless just by standing are sometimes called Kakashi. This referee is less useful than Kakashi. It's still better to stand in silence without judging. With love from Japan.

lol, that 3rd strike on ohtani was angel hernandez-like. but can't ignore fact that #17 reached twice and never came around. this will almost guarantee that frisco will not throw him any strikes on saturday and try to make him chase, take chance and walk him instead. too bad for fans

there's no way to argue with a robot. Keep the humans! If the umpire misses a call, you sometimes get it back on another borderline pitch. With a robot, you lose every time!

Really tried to enjoy this game, but that strike zone was just so BAD on both sides! Think MLB seriously tried to make up for that 'gift' comeback win they handed the Dodgers back in Coors' Field the other week with this loss (ugh). Poor Treinen, he actually had Wisely struck out prior to the walk-off HR. I don't mind wins and losses as long as both teams are largely allowed to decide the games for themselves. All this technology to aid these umpiring crews in doing a more efficient job out there and it's still not being utilized much at all, what a horrible joke being played for all to see...

actually, people need to admit that the video screen graphic for strike zone is NOT perfect. People think it is, but it isn't. When a batter crouches, that doesn't change his strike zone. But the screen graphic gets tricked by batters who crouch. And the ball to Ohtani went over the corner of the plate. The graphic showed where the ball was caught, not where it crossed the plate.

Disappointing loss yesterday but damn that Homeplate umpire was freaking horrible 😫

In the top of the first inning, Ohtani struck out looking, but no matter how you look at it, it was a ball. Because it was Ohtani, he didn't protest. If he was a hot-blooded batter, he would have protested and been ejected by now.

I feel Knack is being showcased between now and the upcoming trade deadline, quiet as kept. Too bad the Dodgers this season have a 'patchwork' rotation due to all these injuries (and the fact that they just don't have it in them to tell a completely washed-up Kershaw "IT'S OVER!", ugh) because that might be the very thing that keeps that kid on the active roster indefinitely. Barring another nagging injury, I see Miller bouncing back from his recent struggles as long as he continues to trust whoever's game-calling for him that day. Besides, he's got somebody like Glasnow to learn from so he better take advantage of that golden opportunity while it's still there for him...
