wow ! I didnt knew that i had to extend the tensionner before closing the timing cover, thats maybe why i never be able to fix the rattling noise ... Ill retry this week :0)

Did it work for you denisgiguere1600? I just finished a rebuild on a 03 4.7 runs Iike a top except after a little over 100 miles on break-in. I'm getting a tapping sound from behind the timing cover, so I removed the timing cover change and everything seemed pretty tight I can barely even move the right side tensioner and the left side tensioner has maybe 3/16" of play. The tapping gets worse when I raise the RPMs. There's no tapping on cold startup until it starts warming up, and then it starts becoming noticeable. I only have like two teeth on each side showing on my tensioners. Do you recommend I extend them all the way to the guides. Thank you in advance, Clay for any help.

Clay this is ken I text u before I see what u did to the tensioners nice job i thought my noise was the lifters (it was lifters) but what i want to ask u is what are they talking about some 03 jeeps libertys have clutch fans mine dont is this a up grade??/ plus my jeep boils back into bottle before fan comes on natural 215f i have to keeps a/c on with the fan going all the time

Some of them come with the clutch fan and some of them don’t, sorry I don’t know why some do it and some don’t so it wouldn’t be a problem adding one. Definitely wouldn’t hurt anything. You could take it to the self car wash and blowout the radiator maybe it’s got a bunch of dirt stuck in between the fins You could remove the thermostat and drill a 1/8 hole in it. This allows the coolant to pass by the thermostat constantly but not too much to take away from the ability for her to have heat. I often drill three holes in it and you will see exactly where to drill them there’s a flat ledge part that’s really easy to drill into and through. When the engine gets over about 210° it pressure rises and it’s supposed to have a little air passage escape at the top of it but it doesn’t often work because it vapor locks. There is a clock in to the thermostat the golden pieces supposed to be pointed straight up

Well you’re assuming that I’m wearing it because of Covid……. I guess technically it’s because of Covid…. Here’s the story during Covid the dog ate my false teeth and our governor shut down all the dentist offices so I couldn’t get any new ones made when I had the money….. well also during Covid I lost a lot of money because I wasn’t making as much and the government wasn’t giving me free handouts…. So now I don’t have any I’m just used to it so I no longer wear the mask… 😂😂

Why not just use a clamp to hold up the the guide??

Well there’s actually a couple ways you could do it I only did it this way because I was certain that it wouldn’t fall. That was kind of the point of the video you could just hold it with the screwdriver if you were sure but that would create a lot more work if you Slip
