It aint even that bad of a truck. Debate its status as a truck all you want but its literally just a more useful suburban. And its still probably a 6.0L v8 regardless. If its the 5.3 that ram is pathetic. edit: nvm that year had an 8.1L option from the factory good god. I'm gonna guess that's what is in the truck shown here but I'm not really sure.

@@d-rose2604 the Ram makes more torque and HP. The center of gravity in the Ram is the front center console. The center of gravity in the Avalanche is in the rear middle seat. As far as traction, I can't really see what tires for the terrain they are on. First to break traction normally loses. There is a Chevy 3500 dually that pulls a Semi, what about the power difference there?

People put those balloon tires on rams. Stop doing this. You just spread your weight out too much and you can grip. I've saw so many of these trucks in a ditch. I have normal sized but aggressive threaded tires. I put a 3/4 ton tool box in the back and goes anywhere anytime. Except on ice.....found out how useless all vehicles are on ice the hard way. Even the bobcat got stuck lol

For two trucks with Lego built transmission, this went surprisingly well, the 1-2 band and clutches have left the chat though

The avalanche dosnt have that long and light ass end. Its a short bed with large cab giving a more even weight distribution to the wheels for better grip. Plus the 5.3L in them are pretty tough with a little work.

It is not an 8.l the Avalanche 2500 has an added plastic cladding on the front fenders (above the wheel) also the 2500 had "Avalanche 2500" on the cladding on both front doors. Last thing is the engine sound, definitely not a big block

Never understood this. Pulling strength doesn't work like that. Dodge has it's weight all in the front end so it's rear end traction and weight will be less then the Chevy. Tow the same weight and time it, that's the way to test it

Maybe it’s just me but judging by the back of the avalanche it looks like it has some weight in the back. The front also looks to be sitting kind of high which would suggest there’s weight in the back. Which of course would be an advantage.

Still don’t think it would have worked it’s not about power it’s about grip and the avalanche have the wight in the rear unlike the ram . You should never do this with a ram transmission have enough problems as it is

As an Avalanche owner this makes me proud. I know the Avalanche's have some trivial design issues (leaky rear window, the unfixable EVAP "leak", and the 03'-07' VCM nightmare), but they're SOLID AS F*CK where it counts... and to see my truck literally drag a dodge is so satisfying!! Watch the Avalanche vs. Ford Sport Trac & Honda Ridgeline (their attempted copies). The Chevy won literally everything vs. FORD & everything except gas milage vs. the Honda.

U can smell the rubber

The next day on marketplace: Chevy Avalanche, 9,000 lightly used. Driven by a grandma who only went to church and got groceries in it. Clean truck.
