You may be right on this but there are other parts that can make it hard to start. Leaky injector, pressure valve etc.

I'm having this exact issue now on my 03 I will check the tubes first and see if their leaking but sounds like it's the cp3

My problem was the in-tank fuel pump. When my truck would not start I would have do the following procedure 3 times then the truck would start up and run. Bump the starter let the failing pump prime the fuel bowl allow approximately 45 sec. turn key off and repeat

I have an 07 and my cp3 is going out but mine will start fine cold. But at temp if it sits for 10mins or so, Hard start. If I poor Luke warm water on the cp3 and cool it down fire's right up. Does anyone know someone that can rebuild my pump into a 10.6 mm stroker. I would rather have mine built than buy some other repop.

Mine is Doing this too! If I pour water on it it’ll fire right up. Did the new cp3 solve your problem?

My was just the batterys and did the same thing

I had a similar problem on my cummins 5.9 and the problem was the water drain valve on the fuel filter reservoir

Would it drip fuel or just let air in?

I had the same problem on my 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 it ended up being the FCA (Fuel Control actuator) I was ready to buy new injectors and everything but it ended up being this little $200 dollar part.

It's such an easy check too, I don't know why they didn't look.

did it end up actually being the cp3? have the same exact issues and everyone is telling me injectors but i dont have the $3k to blow at the moment. just wondering if the cp3 was the problem on his!

How do you know it’s not injectors high feedback from bad injector or two?

Replaced the CP3, truck has been running great since. No starting issues with since we replaced the pump.

I have the same intermittent problem. Injector return flow is good. Going to throw a new cp3 at it next.

Every vehicle runs and runs and runs as long as you put new parts on it! Hahaha you guys and your cummins.

That's what I say. People love them.cummins but then always ask someone to fix them
