Some cinemas had very few people turning up. The cinema in Westfield shopping centre had just three lone people in it, all sat away from each other. Imagine paying £20 to spend your Friday night sat in a strange room with two strange men, watching a rubbish episode of Doctor Who and then having to leave together at 1:25am with everything shut and a long wait for the nightbus. I wonder if they made eye contact or acknowledged each other, especially if they ended up awkwardly bumping into each other again at the bus stop? Still, at least it wasn't raining on the shortest night of the year. If Doctor Who is ever shown in cinemas again, it'll have to be very limited screenings in specialist cinemas that do cult screenings, such as the BFI in London. Even the cinema on London's Regent's Street was mostly empty. Given that it's 173 yards from the BBC, perhaps the small audience was mainly staffers with free tickets?

What a load of complete bollocks! If we are to believe that Sutekh was hiding in the TARDIS since 1975, does that mean there's another Sutekh in a garden in North London with Doctor 14? Tennant's TARDIS after all is the original TARDIS. If Ruby's mum is a nobody and Ruby is a human, why the snow and the music and all the mysterious garbage we've had to endure. This rubbish is an insult to people who trusted in RTD to deliver something better than an episode of EastEnders. Count me out for next season.

I mean when it comes to answering "but what would make Doctor Who popular again?" Look at Pertwee's first season. Look at how popular Stranger things became. Maybe we need to pull back on colour and camp. Give a more grounded and surrealist doctor who series. And if well told, you'll probably have more non who fans be like "man, did you see Doctor Who? That was so creepy and cool" and it will grow out in a Stranger Things like fashon. I don't think it's a very hard equation to crack.

It's just for some reason Russell feels Doctor Who needs to be completely light when shows like House of the Dragon and stranger things are resonating more with darker elements. What would have been much more fun than having them watch Pyramids of Mars on I-Player is if they had had to do a Trial and Tribblations type episode in which they had to wander around the manor during the events of Pyramids of Mars trying to avoid Tom and Sarah so they don't create a paradox, in order to retrieve a piece of Osiran technology that is in Scarman's collection of Egyptian artefacts

Also RTD made it clear what he thinks of Pyramids of Mars by making the Doctor say it was "Cultural Appropriation" knowing that the New "fans" of the show with the same ideology as him will start calling it problematic and vilify the Classic story. Even in the context of the story and canon it makes zero sense as there was no cultural Appropriation. The Orsians were aliens and gave technology and knowledge to the ancient Egyptians in return they were seen as Gods and the "Egyptian" imagery could of come from the Aliens. Also I felt they just dismissed the 4th Doctor as just someone who used to use the TARDIS and them talked to Mel about all the great times they had.

For me, that was one of the worst scenes, I hated it so much. The cultural appropriation comment made no sense, considering Sutek and the Osirans were at the core of Egyptian mythology. Also, they make Ruby look stupid by making her ask who the 4th doctor is despite regeneration being explained to her, and the doctor is doing his absolute utmost to hide his previous lives like he is ashamed, laughing at the fact that Ruby is oblivious to his past.

You telling me the doctor couldn't find a spoon or a peice of metal anywhere but only from a random woman? Ruby making snow everywhere...WHY....she not just normal after all? why did meistro panic over her song of she was just normal? why was rubys mum wearing a huge robe? who was supposed to see her pointing? if it's the doctor, why would rubys mum care to stop and point just to tell him a name that would mean nothing to him? why did ruby make it snow everywhere if it was a memory of an event she would probablyexperiencd when she was DAYS OLD! TIME IS NOT A MEMORY RUSSEL!! why did sutehk look like a fiberglass dog on the flashback screen yet immediately looked like scoobydoo when he attatched himself to the tardis? Are we really supposed to believe sutehk was there when the tardis splintered at frontios? What about the big bang reset? was stupid!!! Just a stupid reset button. How completely LAME. Don't get me started on the cultural appropriation quip. Egyptian culture was based on tbe osirans..not stolen by sutehk. Sutehk was totally wasted. That ending was abysmal! So now death brings life? Really? It reversed every death? Why? Sutehk lived for centuries sitting on top of the tardis in the vortex, but now he is destroyed by exposure to it? Russel apparently can't write for toffee anymore and i have to say I only enjoyed a single episode this series....last week's. Russel failed to end on a high and fumbled the ball. Rubbish episode ending a rubbish season. 2 out of 10.

When did he climb off the original onto the one made by the toymaker's hammer? How did he have hundred's of years of control over a tardis 6 months old? Or did the toymaker make another Suetek. My brain aches. And when did Doctor "I would NEVER" become Doctor killer? He straight up murdered Suetek. I'm also really tired of spot the crying doctor. Well thought out. I don't completely agree but that's life lol. The only problem with your idea for pulling Sutekh off, ha ha, is that if Sutekh doesn't return they have no reason to go back and pull him off in the first place and things get all paradoxically timey-wimey. Wasn't the spoon just to repair the screen? I didn't pick up on it needing to contain a memory. Although having seen the memory TARDIS several times now I find it hard to believe there was no metal they could use in there. The memory TARDIS is the setting for Tales of the TARDIS if you fancy giving those a watch. The new scenes bookending the classic stories are quite charming and are set in the memory TARDIS. There were definitely some good ideas but as you say, think about it a little and it falls apart.

If Sutekh escaped at the end of time after the salty business, sure. But when the TARDIS was a living, breathing woman... Wouldn't she say, "Oh yeah, Sutekh is on the roof. Might want to check on that." Or something. I feel insulted, I feel betrayed and I feel lied to. The f*ing memory TARDIS... JESUS!!! People just seem fine with it... Makes no sense. Definitely room for more crying. I'd like next series to be mainly crying... It really has weight to it when it NEVER STOPS!!!! And in the end... Oh! Perhaps if they'd ditched one of the bad episodes and made the finale a three partner to give time to join all the dots? And Anita Dobson's monologue to camera at the end? Overall pretty fine / decent season of Doctor Who. Doesn’t stick the landing tho. The writing of this new era has honestly been pretty good, better than people are giving it credit for. That being said, the two parter finale was by far the weakest written of the series which is quite a shame really. Here is my ranking of the episodes: 7: Space Babies - 4/10 6: Legend of Ruby Sunday / Empire of Death - 5/10 5: Rogue - 6/10 4: Boom - 7/10 3: The Devil’s Chord - 7/10 2: Dot and Bubble - 8/10 1: 73 Yards - 8/10 And the specials: 4: The Church on Ruby Road - 6/10 3: The Star Beast - 7/10 2: The Giggle - 8/10 1: Wild Blue Yonder - 9/10

The writing has been pathetic overall. Placing ideology above all else is not the best move as Disney Star Wars is finding out with that Acolyte trash.

“Baselessly disgruntled” is the opposite of my review. Oh well, at least I tried to explain why I was not happy with it. 🙄

Turdy Davies has lost the plot and Doctor Who is just his gay wet dream now.

True. Never mind the pyramids of Mars. Look out for the piles of Uranus.

We always knew it was going to be a magic reset button. Worst Doctor Who writer of all time. Worst Doctor of all time. Worst series of Doctor Who of all time. This makes season 24 look like a masterpiece.
