There's the unused outfit from season 27. In the first episode to begin with, he wears the typical season 26 costume, but in part three, a character gives birth, he wraps up the baby in his jumper and for the rest of the episode/ season, he would have replaced the jumper with a waistcoat.

The Seventh Doctor wears both the grey and brown jackets with the question mark pullover from “Timewyrm: Genesys” to “Lucifer Rising” then wears the linen suit in “White Darkness” and I’m not sure what he wears from “Shadowmind” to “Blood Heat”. What I’ve noticed in “The Dimension Riders” he wears a more baize-like jacket, the question pullover is gone and the tie + hatband has a more dark blue/red paisley pattern. For “The Left-Handed Hummingbird” the checkered trousers are gone replacing them with a standard baize colour and the handkerchief is sort of the same as in season 24 + 25 although no scarf present. We get to “Tragedy Day” he sports a plain green tie, he returns to his season 24/25 costume for “Legacy”, in “All-Consuming Fire” the hatband is a plain red along with the scarf and the tie is a plain dark blue plus no pullover. For “Strange England” the pocket watch is on the opposite side and the tie is the dark blue/red paisley. Next we got “St Anthony’s Fire” this time sporting a plain black waistcoat along with a cravat of the same colour (not really sure?) and the hatband is the same as before. In “Infinite Requiem” he’s wearing his red paisley hatband along with the season 24/25 jacket other than that nothing really else to talk about this variant and in “Human Nature” he wears a plain brown tie. You discussed his costume in “Original Sin”, he obtains the smiley face pin badge in “Sky Pirates!” but I think he only wears it for that one story (maybe?), the baize jacket is used until “Shakedown”, the tie varies from a shiny red in “Sky Pirates!” to a dark blue/orangey paisley (along a light blue shirt) in “Zamper” to a very black paisley? (along with a black scarf and hatband) in “The Also People” to a hot pink? (along with a purple/orange paisley hatband and scarf) in “Shakedown”. He starts wearing his “TV Movie” costume in “Just War”, what I’ve read The Doctor wears a nun costume for the entirety of “Warchild” and then returns to the tweed until “Happy Endings” wear he puts on plain white jacket and trousers (along with a plain red tie and light blue shirt) and continues with the tweed look (including the missing adventure “Cold Fusion”) until his final novel “Lungbarrow”, leading into the “TV Movie”. Hope this has given some help about The Seventh Doctor variants in the VNAs.

I definitely prefer the first two outfits, but in my mind the TV movie outfit was the natural evolution of his costume, to sort of signify a darker time in sevens lifetime after all his companions have gone

Great video! Very interesting, I love breakdowns of the Doctors' outfits. I actually put together a quick basic 7th doctor cosplay months ago for MCM London in May for when Sylvester McCoy was there. I thought it was pretty good, though I'm sure Jonathan would be horrified by it XD

I know the story of how Jonathan got the button. It's so freaking funny.

Always great to see you doing a video with Jonathan. Really like these cosplay videos, personally I'm not a fan of the question mark sweater so I've always preferred the waistcoat from the TV movie but great video.

I enjoyed this video and found it really intetesting; you don't really know the propper differences in the costume until you have an in - depth look. Also I believe Jonathan has recently started listening to Big Finish, I would like to hear his thoughts on them and your recommendations (I feel as though there isn't enough BF related content on this channel).

I legit think they should make a film about Sylvester and the end of the classic series like they did with An Adventure in Space and Time

@batmanmarch I was legit just having another look at the scarf a few moments ago and notice that it had been sold. Great to see that his costume has become slightly more accurate.

Looking forward to meeting Sylvester McCoy and getting his autograph at this year's Pensacon Event in Pensacola, Florida. As well as the 5th,6th,8th and 9th Doctors that will also be there.

I think this is a very good recreation of the 7th doctors outfits well done I personally prefer the brown jacket as to the white/cream/grey one but I respect your opinion and the 7th doctors outfit is my favourite from the classic era. I have to agree with you on the 1996 look I am not a fan of his look in that film or the movie at all tbh as it looks bland and not really capturing the Doctors weird style, the only part of the outfit I don’t mind from the movie is the trousers. from new who my favourite look is Matt Smith in his day of the Doctor look as I think he wears his best bow tie in the episode , I’m intrigued to know who your favourite new series Doctor is great video xx

sorry, just to say that in season 26 the 7th doctors paisley scarf did change, it had a little bit more colour in it. it had a bit of mustardy colour in it and a bit of green, this scarf wasn't present in all stories that season, it wan't in curse of fenric and some scenes in survival. hope this helps!

Although I have a soft spot in my heart for the look the 7th Dco had in the classic series, i really thought he looked very sharp in the TV Movie and love that particular outfit. Superfans of the 7th Doc might also try dressing up with the outfit from the Virgin New Adventures!!

The trousers are a pain i want to cosplay 7th Doctor

Please, please reply to me lol Gosh that sounds kinda desperate right? I'm in this quandary right now of tweaking Seven's costume to fit a girl. I'm almost there, just a few adjustments here and there but I cannot for the life of me find his pocket watch. I have the casing but the digital interior really eludes me. My brother is quite technical (I'm not, I'm more of a cupcake kinda girl lol) but even he is stumped. Please help a fellow Brit, how did you find or make it.

I’m tearing my hair (what’s left of it) out trying to source the pocket watch, don’t suppose any kind soul would be able to point me in the right direction? And if someone suggests shapeways, what do I need to type in to actually find the faceplate?

I'm being this pedantic for all The Doctors, currently working on doing a costume guide for all of them. The annoying part about Davison's outfit is the red rectangle on the side of his boot seems to disappear in some stories (even in-between scenes)

Is it bad that I actually prefer the TVM costume to the other ones...?

I just so happen to be working on my own costume guides for all The Doctors as I'm doing my rewatch for the 60th and here's what I can tell about his wrist watch: In Season 24 he wears a square faced silver watch on a black leather strap with a white face. This also appears in Remembrance of the Daleks and is put on rest until Season 26 where it is worn in Battlefield (I'm unsure of what he wears in the other stories as I'm watching Battlefield as we speak, but I'll post updates). For the remainder of Season 25 he wears an all black circular faced watch which appears to have notches/ bars on the side connecting it to the strap. However there is one scene in The Greatest Show in the Galaxy Part 3 when the Doctor and Deadbeat break into the cabin where Ace & Bellboy are being held, he is now wearing a silver circular white faced watch on a black strap but both before and after this scene it is the all black one.
