I don't know why but I love Sylvester's enthusiasm for "ghetto blasters".
Theme song always needed more disco
McCoy wasn't Rrrrolling the Rrrrr in the intro. I don't know which universe I'm in anymore. Thankfully he did later on. Phew!

This version of the Doctor Who theme for the intro sounds like something straight from the Sonic CD soundtrack. lol
I still have my VHS copy of this. I still have all the 'Years' series on VHS. I always found it a shame that we never got the Peter Davison and Sylvester McCoy years on video back in the day.
I'm still thinking the BBC should do a version for the New series: "Hi. I'm David Tennant. And welcome to the Eccleston years."

Nah, that's just your imagination.
I bought this VHS in 1993 or 94. I watched it a lot with my father. We were both big fans of the show!
I like Sylvester McCoy

My Doctor 😊
Must of been crazy being a Dr who fan in the 90s as loads of classic episodes from the 60s where never rebroadcast so their doctors are completely unknown by a good chuck of the fanbase and there was no way to find out who they were.

Yes, they where never broadcast. "My Doctor" is New Who BS.
I LOVE the theme
Sylvester McCoy is so adorable 😋😊❤️
Good that the segments from these videos are being preserved on blu-ray, like the one for The Crusades is. I had these videos, back in 1991 - amazing to see some of the recovered episodes, back then. The theme tune is obnoxious!!! Sylvester does his part.

Yes, the kindest thing one can say is that the arrangement is very "of its time", but speaking as someone who bought this tape when it was first released I can assure you that even back then I thought it was embarrassingly cheesy and my opinion hasn't changed at all in the intervening decades. More broadly I find most of the incidental music of McCoy's era to be unlistenable. Lots of drum machines, an overuse of musical "stings" and scores that sound like an unhip nerd's idea of "hip" music. The notable exception being Mark Ayres, whose scores for "Ghost Light" and "The Curse of Fenric" are some of my favorite Who music, ever.
I had these vhs tapes, 1991- It was amazing to see these random surviving episodes Good these are getting put on the newest dvd/Blu to preserve them (recent news of The Celestial Toymaker/and with The Crusade)
I used to have this VHS. I think I bought it in 1994.

Opening the shutters with a click of his fingers Is that where they got the idea? 😏
Thanks for uploading this, I was 8 when this tape came out and my Dad bought it for me. After it was clear the show wasn't coming back after 89 it was this VHS that made me a fan for life - I watched it endlessly!
I love you kept the BBC VIDEO globe ident at the end. That music they used with the bongos was so cool.
I did not just hear this man say "ghetto blasters"

yes you did, and he referred to it as such in "Remembrance of the Daleks" I have old 240p copies of most of the '80s Doctor Who ripped from VHS, as well as a few Tom Baker episodes

At the time of the VHS release only Ep 3 of The Crusade exist, And sometime years later Ep 1 of the story was found.
I ain't got round to watching the DVD version of Galaxy 4, but I think it would have been a ideal place for the Hartnell Years to be included, as was the case for the Blu Ray releases, especially pleased that we got the full Tom Baker Years as I sadly no longer have access to my video collection. :(

That is an interesting picture... and you are right. It was the base of at least three TARGET novelisations - The Romans, The Edge of Destruction, The Gunfighters... either it was the only one they thought they had, or it was the most ready to hand and they were too lazy to look for something else. Same the Troughton one here... it seems to have been the bogstandard passport shot for his Doctor

Even the 7th doctor has a pair of brainy specs.
question whereabouts is that store at, as in Sylvester's played as a host in it?
doubt you'll get a copyright claim on such bad video quality. Like everything is smeared in Vaseline.
This is delightfully tacky!
Him wearing the costume for this is absurd.
