@@daniellemilligan6307 Interesting! I had to do some quick googling after your comment, since all the honeydew melons I've seen and bought have been bright yellow and more elliptical than round. But I do get some search results for round, veiny melons with the same name too, so I assume they're a different thing in different countries maybe. I immediately thought it must be a cantaloupe or a galia melon, those are the ones looking most like the picture in our grocery stores. Either way definitely a melon rather than any of Mike's other guesses 🤣

As a lefty, I DEFINITELY want a lawsuit against those desks.

Seriously. We were lucky to have one or two desks for us in a classroom. Sometimes none. I think it's why my left-handed father wrote with his wrist turned down, you know what I mean? I never did. And yeah, my writing slants the opposite way from right-ies. I can always spot a left-handed writer because of that slant.

When I did find one, it felt uncomfortable because I had gotten so used to resting my right arm on the side and maybe reaching across my body to write. At the very least, I felt like it was easy to sit up straight while writing when I sat in a righthanded desk.

My favorites are when he dives into the medical field, DESTROYING misinformation, and teaching us new subjects as he does so well. The Legal Eagle part was my favorite. I love their partnership. They are my two favorite KZreadrs, so I always love a mention or even better, a collaboration.

Real quick about fitness trackers: my sister has had an Apple Watch for years, and it actually saved her life recently. She went to her doctor complaining of something feeling wrong with her heart, but after talking through stuff with her, the doctor said nothing looked wrong. My sister then showed the health data her watch had been recording for the past year, with a pretty dramatic change in recent weeks. The doctor, armed with a little more knowledge of where to look, found one of her valves wasn’t opening or closing right, and that surgery was needed to fix the problem. She got the surgery and has been fine ever since. Her doctor even recommended to always wear the watch from that point on since it had so dramatically saved her life. TLDR: while the precision or short term benefits of health trackers may be questionable, they are very useful to get a long-term picture that saved my sister’s life.

I know he's got SOME smartness in there because he's a doctor.... But he makes me second guess myself sometimes 😂

I highly recommend Lasik. My vision was nearsighted and -9.75 or worse when I was 18. My graduation gift from my father was custom Lasik from Ficte, Endl & Elmer. Customization was needed because my pupils are larger than average at rest. I ended up with 15/20 vision which remains to this day (I'm 36). The only downside was that my eyes, already pretty sensitive to light before surgery, ended up even more sensitive. The starburst and halos for night driving are the worst; although wearing amber tinted computer glasses does help a bit.

lol those desks, since I'm left handed the ones my school had were useless to me and actually kind of got in the way depending on the specific desk (the ones in the math classrooms were the worst - and yes my school had different brands in different rooms) so I was constantly turned around sideways taking notes on my lap.

My partner and I panicked for a bit when we saw mine, I remember it looking really off and called over the teacher because it wasn't an exactly healthy looking EKG and my partner's EKG looked just fine. When we looked at the numbers though, it turns out that I had an average EKG for someone of my demographics when looking solely at the numbers. Looking at only EKGs with the humpy and lumpy bit pictures can be misleading sometimes haha

How's it going Doctor Mike, you've really inspired me to go to Med School once i graduate. Before I wished to have other occupations, but seeing how successful you were as a Doctor Changed my Mind.

I love tracking my steps and sleep because, even if not perfectly accurate, when I'm having a lazy day (less steps than usual) it gets me to go for a walk in the evening and if I didn't have enough sleep it motivates me to try to go to sleep earlier the next evening. And I track my stats, maybe not every day, but I'm looking at trends and try to adjust my habits to see the changes i want.

Thanks to doctor Mike…I actually knew how to do CPR on my neighbour. I am still a pre-med, wanting to go into medicine, but that incident, along with my mother’s death, really made me sure of the choice I made. Even though we couldn’t read the hospital on time, but the CPR I did and everything else just really helped the man’s wife. Even tho uncle wasn’t with us anymore…she hugged me and thanked me for trying when no one even came to help her. That was the day I realised again why I chose this profession… (After my mother died, I became really depressed towards my studies as it was *our* dream to see me as a doctor…) I believe what I was saying what, thanks to Doctor Mike, I was able to provide comfort to a woman who really needed it. (And keep uncle going for a bit…💀) Thank you sir, you’re really doing a great job

My fitbit helped me explain a possible sleep disorder to my doctor. I showed her the consistent, specific times I was waking up and the fact I was only sleeping about 4- 5 hours a night. So, hardly useless. A lot easier than me just saying, "I keep waking up"
