Doctor's Near-Death Experience is Incredible

When Mark McDonough was a teen, a catastrophic fire claimed the lives of his mother and younger brother. It also left Mark with burns on over 65 percent of his body. During a long and painful recovery, his faltering faith in God was strengthened by a remarkable near-death experience. Inspired to pursue a career as a plastic surgeon to help those who suffer as he has, McDonough has overcome numerous other adversities on his journey, including addiction and a stroke. Now he shares his incredible true story of survival and perseverance to bring hope and healing to those dealing with great physical and emotional pain.

Awe you poor thing. that's so heartbreaking. I pray Father calls for me before he calls for our children.. you can't explain the love a parent has for their children. It's like describing the color blue to a blind person. The words simply don't exist. I don't know you but It genuinely hurts me to know that you have been dealt whats undoubtedly the greatest pain this world has to offer. When Father calls for your child before he calls for you.. 😫

Not an NDE. I had an encounter many years ago that involved a conversation with God. Lasted about 2 1/2 hours. It was a lot of info to process. It felt like a complete disconnect at the time. Though I was very present and alive in this moment. Felt like it dang near drove me insane afterwards. It was hard to reconnect with the world. Couldn't focus on the tasks at hand, sometimes time passing without knowing while I was deep in thought. God protected me through that time. I have a hard time describing this experience. But it seems that the only ones that understand what it felt like, are those who have experienced NDE's. The overwhelming love, peace, safety, certainty is nothing that can be matched in this world. Can't even put it into words. They fall very short for an accurate description. I suffered depression for a short time after. Wanting to actually die to get back there. Took me about 7 years before I felt normal again. Though I don't like feeling normal after that, but it helps to function with the world, and accept it as God's plan. I no longer have to just believe anymore. I know its real! Thank you God and Jesus for what you did and do for us!

My grandmother told her daughters that when she died and made to heaven she would come back and sing for one of the family members , because her mother did that for her . Me and my sisters didn’t know anything about her saying that . The night my Grandma died she came and sang to my sister . The words in the song was “ Only Jesus gives us peace in the valley “ . My sister didn’t know my Grandmother had promised to sing . When she went to the funeral she told our Aunts that she had heard a woman sing to her that morning . Our Aunts broke down crying and told the story of their mothers promise and wrote down the words in the song .

I almost drowned in a public pool at age 12. At first I panicked and was scared. I tried to get to the surface but couldn’t. I was thinking i hope someone comes and save me. Then all of a sudden I felt this incredible peace and calm come over me. I heard this beautiful music and it was getting louder as if the volume dial on the radio was being turned up. The louder the volume the more at peace i was. I then remember thinking i hope no one comes and saves me. Just then the lifeguard jumped in and pulled me out of the water. I was able to walk to the first aid room on my own with the lifeguard but i was very weak and had to hold onto him. As we were walking to the first aid room I said to him why did you save me I did not want to be saved. He looked at me and said its my job to save people. He was also surprised why i made that comment. From that moment on and through out my life of 66 years I have lost the fear of dying. I remember that incident as if it happened yesterday. I will never ever forget it. There is life after death as far as i am concerned.

I had something similar happen. My brother was driving us in a blizzard one time with zero visibility. We were teenagers and he’s always thought he was invincible (never outgrew it). He was driving at normal speeds (even though we couldn’t see) and passing semis though we had no idea if anyone was coming from the other direction. He was risking his life, my life, his friends life (who was in the backseat) and anyone who may have been coming in the opposite direction and just didn’t care and wouldn’t listen to our please to slow down and stop passing people. Anyways, I was terrified and came to accept I was going to die that night. I was preying and all of a sudden I got completely calm and lost all fear. It was such a profound feeling I’ll never forget. We made it home but I never got in a car with my brother for a very long time after that. I’ve never really been scared of dying, just of how. What this man has gone through sounds like a nightmare. It’s unbelievable how much pain a human body can endure without dying. THAT’S what I’m scared of. I’m far more scared of living than I’ve ever been of dying.

Having had a very near death experience myself I absolutely have no fear of death. It does not stop when we die... just in knowing that it does not stop there intrigues me of what will be come that time. That experience happened to me 20 years ago this summer I spent a hundred and thirty-nine days in the Hospital. I have to say that I am incredibly grateful for the experience because it gave me a depth of understanding that no book could ever give me. Remember each day is a miracle and we must never take them for granted because truly we don't know when it will be our last⚘

A man that I was a 24/7 caregiver for, ( 85 years old), told me something he had never told a soul. When he was in his late 20’s, married with three kids, was out in a Sunday drive, and got hit head on, by a car driven by a drunk driver. His four year old son died instantly. His Wife was in the hospital for three months. And his second son , 2 1/2 years old, had a broken jaw that had to be wired shut. The third son , 3 months old, unhurt, was found in the back seat underneath something, crying, his cry is how they found him. He himself had been pinned in his seat by the car engine practically sitting on his lap. He told be that he kept walking around the scene of the accident, feeling no pain at all, trying to find out what happened and NOBODY would talk to him ! He then could see, from above, the scene of the whole accident. After a time he then felt someone lift his wrist and check his pulse , and put his hand back down, and said “ This one is gone” . And at that moment he said he could see his own reflection crystal clear, in the windshield ( which was cracked and broken) and woke up. He then was rescued by the ambulance folk ( this was in the 50’s, EMT’s weren’t named that yet) got him out and to the hospital. He NEVER told ANYONE about that experience. He was afraid that people would think he was crazy. I felt honored that he felt comfortable enough to tell me about it. He was relieved to finally learn , that others have had a similar experience. And he wasn’t crazy! I cared for him in my home, until he passed. About a month before he passed, once in awhile he’d ask me where “ that little boy went?” He said he saw a little boy run across the living room and around the corner by the hall. I believe he was seeing was his 4 year old son. They call that “visioning”, often people have those, when it is getting closer to their time to pass. He was the most extraordinary man. I met him when I was 21 & I remember being so drawn to him , in a way i didn’t understand. I never ever forgot him. When I was 45 I ran into him at the store . At that time he was 79, and had just retired at 78, from driving truck over the road. He still was a mountain of a man, to work until he was 78!! He was there to pick up his meds at the pharmacy, & the Pharm had messed up the script. We spent the next four hours talking, while we waited for his meds. From that day on, I KNEW one day I would be his caregiver. I felt so certain of this, I told him that I would care for him when he got older. When he turned 84 & was a recent Widower, he moved in with us. ( I was already caring for another elderly gent, total care, in my home but we had room for one more) The three of us had a wonderful four years together. He passed at 87. The elderly gent I was already caring for ( for 22 years total) when he had moved in, just passed at 92 in January this year,2023. It was no accident that I got to care of both of these men, it was the honor of my life. I was SO GLAD I was able to keep them both out of a nursing home. Guess I got long winded in my telling this story, lol, but I felt compelled to share our story. (Yes.. I’m still tired & recovering from exhaustion.) The last gent I cared for, for 22 years, that just passed recently, was on hospice/palliative care/ then hospice again, for a total of four years . God gave me the strength to care for them in my home .

I was almost dying my eyes were shut and i saw all my family standing around me sadly and my sister-in-law was crying. I was put into a coma and my eyes were closed but my son came to visit me and he pulled my hospital gown up ontonmy left shoulder I knew it was him and what he did I felt one tear drop run down from my left eye at that moment even with being in an induced coma but I couldn’t move to wipe my tear. I also saw myself floating over top of my bed and then floated over the other pts bed in my room I also saw what I think were angels at the end of my bed in front of the walls a bunch of glowing entities rows of them SO BRIGHT. I felt kinda weird and scared floating in my room. But when I was looking at the glowing entities later on I felt elated and peaceful. I asked my husband who was beside me if he could see them and he said he couldn’t. Anyway that was my experience with having a near death experience and I lived to tell the story. 🥰

No, actually they haven't described the same experience. Not even close. That's just propaganda from the people pushing this stuff. Hindus see Yamraj, Thai people see lord Yama and Yamatoots, complete with talking dead roosters who want them to go to Buddhist "hell" for eating chicken, then be reincarnated as birds. You need to look past western stories. Then you'll see the reality. Some have even seen Nintendo characters and Santa Clause, as well as Elvis Presley and Groucho Marx!

I can't talk about my near-death experience, because I've never had one ... except in a dream. But the dream turned out to be precognitive. It was very vivid. I saw three people walking down the aisle of a movie theater. They were walking single-file down the middle aisle. I was in the middle between two men. I didn't know the man in front of me, but the man walking behind me was my husband at the time of the dream. We turned into a row of empty seats and sat down. The moment I sat down, the huge theater curtain went up. There was no movie, just a bare stage floor, a dull light brown color, and the curtain had been the same dull light brown - the color of dust. Then I looked up, and over the middle of the stage floor was hanging a huge guillotine blade. It was shining and bright gold. To my shock, I saw that it was suspended by a fragile piece of of thin material - and I immediately knew that the material would snap, which it immediately did as I was thinking about it! It crashed into the stage floor and almost buried itself in the wooden floor. The crash it made sounded like an explosion! It was so terrifying, that I suddenly "left my body" out the top of my head. As I flew out, I saw the flash of a thin, bright silver cord, it was flat and no more than an inch in width. I rose all the way up until I touched the ceiling, and the dream ended with me up against the (very high) ceiling, gazing down at the same three people, who were just sitting there, no movement or response. They were looking at the guillotine blade embedded in the wooden stage floor - then I woke up. Five years later, I met the man who had walked down the aisle ahead of me. We fell in love. At the time I had this dream, I was beginning to realize my husband and I were very incompatible. By the time I met the other man in real life, he and I had already decided to divorce. The other man turned out to be a marriage counselor our church recommended to us! Needless to say, he failed to save the marriage!!

A month later I had to have the same surgery over & he said I guarantee this time you won't feel anything, he was right, thankGod!! Also when I had my daughter by C-section I felt them cut me open & groaned & doc said, did you feel that? I said YES & passed out due to loss of blood because my placenta abrupted & I nearly bled out because they didn't know. All's well that ends well, she's 31 now.

I was swimming with my brother in Lake Winnipesaukee when I was about 8 year old. We were having a race to a floating dock and he was 12 at the time and a stronger swimmer. I knew I couldn’t reach the dock distance and just started to sink. I was so tired, so sleepy and felt myself going underwater but with so much peace. Just pure peace no fear at all. The next thing I felt was my brother underneath my body pushing me to the surface and then far enough to come ahead and drag me on shore on my side to release any water. I will never forget this moment in time- the overwhelming peace and no fear any longer of dying.

This is a different side of this human experience, my husband had pancreatic cancer with liver metastasis when he was first diagnosed. The diagnosing doctor told him over the phone and he said get your affairs in order you will be dead in two weeks. We couldn’t accept this so we went to M D Anderson and got a treatment plan. He managed to live almost two years undergoing treatment. The last month of his life he was in the hospital for 30 days and as a last ditch experiment they tried injecting this strong drug directly into his liver but it didn’t work out and it ended up dumping into his intestines instead. It put him in a bad way. I had been by his bedside for 30 days not eating and drinking and one of the days I passed out and ended up being admitted myself. The night he died we had been there all day and it is very tiring on the family ,we had dogs that needed let out so we went home not knowing exactly when he would die. After we got home we got a phone call, I was with my daughter in her room setting on her bed. I saw our cat who had her head bent way back in an odd way she was looking up at the corner of the room right at the ceiling. I looked at where she was looking and I said do you see that to my daughter and she said yes and asked me did I see it and I said yes, it was a golden transparent orb floating in that corner in the ceding edge. I knew immediately that was my husbands soul coming to say goodbye. I felt very relieved and reassured that life does go on. Praise be to Jesus. Believe and follow Him.
