Dr. Rudy's description of this event at the time of this patient's surgery is absolutely correct. I was the other cardiac surgeon that he refers to in the video (7.27). The patient's description of his experience is as Dr Rudy described it word by word. People should interpret this according to their own beliefs, these are the facts.

Really appreciate you adding your two cents, based upon experience. I've had some really, really odd experiences that lead me to believe consciousness - or the soul - exist absent the body. People need to open their minds and realize that we really don't know very much about how all of this works.

@@kimikiminurface938 Don’t get me wrong, it’s not easy. I am not saying it with disrespect, I’m saying it with love, in funeral time we cry for ourselves not for them if we have faith in the afterlife and believe that the afterlife is better than this one. This isn’t a mental exercise of someone that has never experienced loss, it’s coming from the perspective of someone that has lost many close people in my life and have gone through grief. And I cried in every single one of them, but we cry because we will never (that’s our assumption) get to experience their laughter, joy and time together again. We don’t cry for them, because Gods love will embrace them. If you don’t feel that way, it’s ok I understand, I didn’t feel this way for years either.

We have the misfortune of memorializing our 30 year old Sons life twice each year - his Birthday and the day he passed away (before our eyes ) leaving behind his pregnant wife whom he dated for 15 years. I have experienced this personnally. As a little boy- 4 or 5, I sort of drowned. I can still quite vividly recal the sensation of the cold water being inhaled, and how it was entering my lungs. The next thing was that I met with people that I knew was just dead. One old nice lady in the nabourhood that just died that spring, and I was suddently speaking to her again, and there were others too, and they greeted me kindly and joyfully. I cannot remember what they said now, or not any light, but I remember I was having a rather painful recover and a lot of coughing water as I was held by my legs head down by my oldest brother of 14 - 15. I remember I was sorry for having to return- I know it sounds weird, but that's how it was- a sensation of sadness. And I remember one thing I said that made my brother laugh; " why is it so very dark here"! It felt so dark, and yet the sun was glaring from a completely cloudless sky that day! So it makes me certain that the light I just had returned from must have been a lot greater than sunshine! No chance I had heard of any near death experience at that time, it was 1955 or 56, long before I could read, and we did not have television or any modern days stuff that possibly could have put such thoughts into my mind. This is a true and real experience! The soul of man definitely exists!

The next thing i knew my aunt ann was holding me upside down shaking water from my lungs and my mother was crying. I was in no pannick or terror. My dear mum had an out of body experience whilst having dental surgery. She floated up to the ceiling and watched the operation. Suddenly, the surgeon began to revive her as she had stopped breathing and then she came around. The surgeon was not a bit surprised when she told him about her experience. Years later while in ICU she woke up and said very clearly "The young soldier by my bed, he is so kind and has a beautiful smile" we lost her a few days later. She could'nt have known that the ward was once used for treatment of WW1 soldiers. Some might say its because of medication but as this gentleman said "there's something out there"

It was 1943, my father, a West Virginia coal miner, was crushed by a rock fall, dying eight days later.... My aunt held his hand as he prayed in those last precious moments of life. Dad was a believer but never religious or a church goer, as far as I know. Anyway, my aunt said he suddenly stopped praying, looked up and said: "Thank you Jesus, thank you Jesus" and was gone. I've often thought he must have seen something in answer to his prayers.

I had a body out of experience 50 years ago. I was very ill at home with mumps and in the middle of the night I needed to go to the bathroom. Just entering the hall I was suddenly up in the high end corner looking down at my body. I could see the whole length of the Hall , the light at the end, the painting and then suddenly I went with such a whose back into my body at a speed I can’t explain and suddenly I came to, feeling the carpet under my fingers and wondering where I was . But I could see the whole of that passage in every detail that if you were there you would have to look around. I told my husband but he just said it was my brain playing tricks but the feeling I had of the speed I went back into my body was like lightening. I don’t care who believes me. It was 50 years ago and I have never told any one else. But I believe.

I have a friend who died on the table at 21 while an emergency operation to remove a necrotic kidney was being carried out. She rose up and watched the surgeon hit her heart with a massive adrenaline shot. It was 50 years ago and a Catholic hospital and when she told the nun who sat with her that the dust on top of the operating theatre lights needed cleaning off, the nun went white and ran off to speak to the surgeon. He confirmed the coding and the nun checked the lights and ordered a clean up of them. No-one supported her at that time but she worked it out over the years. Her outlook: dont ever sweat the small stuff, it doesn't matter , just treat people with kindness in the small and large things. That is what REALLY matters.

Hi friend. Just read your comment and wanted to share something with you. The Bible says in Hebrews 9:24, "It is appointed unto men once to die, and after this the judgment". One thing is for sure, we are all going to die one day. And death will carry us into the presence of God. And God is going to judge us according to His commandments. However, we don't have to fear death my friend. Jesus Christ conquered death by dying for our sin and rising triumphantly from the dead in glorious victory. Have you ever thought about where you'll spend eternity? It's the most important question you will ever consider. We have all broken God's moral law - the 10 commandments. This is also why we need Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. Can I ask you some questions my friend? How many lies have you told in your life? What do we call someone who tells lies? A liar. Have you ever stolen something? What do we call someone who steals? A thief. Have you ever taken God's name in vain (omg)? God said He will not hold harmless those who misuse His name. Jesus said if a man even looks at a woman with lust in his heart then he's already committed adultery with her in his heart. Have you ever looked with lust my friend? This is just 4 out of the 10 commandments that we have broken. Since we have broken God's moral law, we deserve to be separated from God forever in hell. But God in His love sent His Son Jesus to die for my sin and your sin my friend. To have your sins forgiven and have eternal life place your faith in Jesus just like you would a parachute when having to jump out of an airplane at 30,000 feet. You can't just believe in the parachute you have to place your faith in it by putting it on. After you pray to receive Jesus read John 3 and 4. Then read the Bible every single day of your life no matter what and also pray that God will help you understand what you read. Please, please, please think about this my friend. Judgment is coming and this is how you get prepared.

I see peoples spirits leave their bodies. The first time I saw it I was 14 years old and it scared the living shit out of me. It was an old man I did not know in a hotel lobby. I ran from there and would never go near a dying person until one of my friends had a son that died in an ICU. I saw his spirit leave also. Then in 2008 my father passed, and his brother who had passed in 2000, spoke to me clearly in a very dark room as I held my fathers hand. He simply said "he is coming with me now". A couple of seconds later the doctor stepped in the room from an ICU control room and said "he's gone now". Then my mother passed in 2015. I was beside her on the bed and an uncle and a couple of friends were there in chairs beside the bed. I saw a fog in the room so thick I couldn't see the window a few feet away and it felt so heavy I could bearly breathe. I said out loud "do you see this cloud? what is it? ooh they are so heavy, its hard to breathe" not even realizing in the moment what I had said. Slowly it lightened and I could breathe again. Above the foot of the bed was small (maybe 2x2 foot) misty cloud like the others I had seen. I said "look you guys ! Do you see it?" They said no we don't. I said "that was mom, but I wonder what the other was that was so heavy?" One of my friends said quietly "those were the others that came for her." In my 50s now and not so afraid anymore. I still will only be around people I love that are dying. I do know what happens though. They don't stay long when their bodies are done serving them. Seconds, if that. And the others that have gone before do come to them, I don't know if to greet them or show them the way, but they do come. I have never felt so suffocated. They don't stay long either. That misty little cloud is what leaves the body of a person that leaves this earth. I believe it is their soul and it goes where the other souls go, where ever that is. I will not know until I go there.

Many now register for classes on how to display these emotions. Autistic ppl are highly intelligent and often have analytical minds. Quite often this is a reason for studying medicine. They aren't aware they're being unempathic, it's just their brains are wired differently. Different is Good!

I was in hospital in 1973 with myocarditis, septicaemia and endocarditis and other complications. At that time I was a single mum with a 6 year old son. Confined to bed rest I urgently needed to urinate but no one in the huge 50 to 60 bed old-fashioned ward, answered the bell. I decided I couldn't wait any longer and took one step out of bed then suddenly fell back into bed in severe pain. 2 aides rushed to my side and to me it appeared as if they grasped me by my elbows and thrust me up towards the ceiling. I heard them say, "She's going" as I floated upwards. I could see right down the long hospital ward to the nurses station/corridor beyond and saw them rushing a trolley of equipment towards my bed. Doctors followed in a flurry. I remember the clanking sound of the trolley and its load. Then, looking down I saw one doctor tear my gown open and start working on me. Incongruously my thoughts were, "That's boring" and with no effort turned my attention upwards and continued my upwards motion beyond the ceiling - (which logically ought to have taken me into the ward above) - but instead there was a light, so bright, so intensely bright and warm, an "otherwordly" light I'd never encountered before, so much so I never wanted to leave it. At that juncture thoughts of my young son briefly flickered through my mind and how he needed me, but the Light was so full of love and understanding I yearned utterly to be part of it. No people appeared. No voice said anything but slowly my floating body turned round to face what was happening to me on the bed below. Suddenly, with a tremendous rush I was back in my body - and the pain. The doctor must have sussed by my expression that I'd had some kind of experience and said, " So you've come back to us" and smilingly added the joke that all the medical personnel would need a canoe to paddle down the flood of liquid I'd expelled. How, I don't know. I recall seeing the doctor insert a large needle in between my big toe, again, I don't know why and in those days, doctors as a general rule, didn't communicate details with their patients. The following day, the elderly lady with dementia in the next bed to mine, who witnessed my belly swollen to such a degree she surmised I must have been pregnant for she enquired, "Well dearie, did you have your baby?" No one explained the physical things that happened to me and for many, many years I never divulged my "otherwordly" experience until I read of others who'd had similar things happen to them. I grew up Christian but this Light business I'm convinced, has no individual belief systems attached to it. It is just Pure Love, all encompassing and truly beautiful beyond our puny terrestial understanding. If that experience, reduced to sheer minutes, is truly ALL we have at the moment of our death then we'll have experienced the numinous and I for one, will be content and fulfilled for those brief moments in the Supreme Presence of Love. I am not religious, don't attend church and have a healthy scepticism towards "Bible bashers" so I don't attribute my experience to standard religious dogma. I'm 82 now and obviously closer to my eventual demise. I hope I can experience that Light when I finally pass. ❤

I believe Dr. Rudy's report because when I was a college student/intern in the School of Allied Health at UTMB in Texas, the medical faculty printed a textbook on incidents of several out-of-body experience reported by children in the pediatrics unit to the medical team. It must had been going on for years so the medical professionals created a textbook to educate college students about this issue so that we may be able to understand and be receptive to the children and/or adults in case they share this story to us. As a practicing Christian, I believe this theory that science was unable to explain to us interns. There must be a heavenly Being whom I call God out there and that "strong lights" and the "patients' being floating out there while his dead or unconscious" that the patients were reporting must be real because there are just too many of these reports going on in different hospitals.

"...2 Chronicles 18:19 The Lord said, 'Who will deceive (lie) King Ahab of Israel, so he will attack Ramoth Gilead and die there?'... And the spirit replied, 'I will go out and inspire all of Ahab's prophets to speak lies.' "'You will succeed,' said the LORD. " We were told that god doesn't lie, the bible is perfect, was written by people inspired by the holy spirit. Total Bullshit!! No god should dare judge humans on the basis of an erroneous corrupted book. Finally, go ask your pastors why they hide the suspicious parts. Many followers don't know them. Eeh? My father was a surgeon in the early 1970's before Raymond Moody's book came out. He kept hearing his patients talk about their NDE's. At first, he thought they were crazy, but he was a spiritual man and as they kept sharing these experiences, he started to listen and feel that what they were saying was true. When Life after Life came out, he was an avid reader and wasn't too surprised about what it said.

I have worked in cardiac/lung surgery & icu, and have had several pts relate stories similar to that. I was at the bedside of a woman who coded and was dead for 20 mins. As her family came into the room to view the body, she came back to life. She turned to me and said "I was in heaven. What happened? " the doctor behind me was in shock. Her mom passed out. She said goodbye to her husband & then coded and passed away.

tim59ism tim, I am a nurse. I have been open with my pts about nde's. There was a young mother who contracted varicella pneumonia (chickenpox in the lungs) during her 8th month of pregnancy. She was in limbo for at least a month. Afterwards, she told me that Mary (M of J) and her own mom were with her the entire time in that limbo period. They assured her she would be fine. She also thanked me for the care I gave her & hymns I sang....she could "see" me doing these things from above her body.

My 90 year old Grandmother has bad dementia & recently had a terrible stroke/seizure. I live on another continent & am very very close to her. I got a heartbreaking call from my family at her bedside in ICU to tell me I had to say goodbye as she only had minutes to live. She really was dying by the minute. My whole family was at her bedside. My Gran is a faithful Christian & so one of my uncles, an elder in the Church, prayed for her with the family & they all recited her favorite Psalm, Psalm 121. Then they sang “How great Thou art”. This was at about 4 pm on a Friday. She made a miraculous recovery overnight & was sent home on Monday morning. The doctors could not explain what happened but my rather skeptical aunt told me it was a true miracle.

I had an OBE and it is your energy/spirit/soul that leaves your body. I saw myself lying asleep and everything in the room was normal, but though I felt I had a body like reaching out to switch on a light, in fact I couldn't as I didn't have a body. I could see as well. My energy still had my senses. Recently, I experienced one nano second of Heaven. Nothing in the English vocabulary can describe the utter joy and peace I felt. I certainly was on cloud nine. I was half asleep and had forgotten to put on my breathing apparatus. I felt myself crossing the room and stepping into the light and felt so happy to have left the misery of the Earth. Because the way we all feel on earth, even at our happiest, is nothing compared to how you will feel in Heaven. Just an extremely brief visit to the other side, then I was back in my body. A moment I will never forget and an incentive to do what is right in life.

This happened to me as well. I've had 4 NDEs and many OBEs, but during 1 surgery in 2008 I didnt die, but described everything that was going on in the surgical suite. When i repeated key phrases and conversations that took place, my surgeon turned ghost white and i never saw him again. Its just the conscious disembodiment of the soul. We're all just plugged into these fancy vehicles. The soul is who we actually are, not these globs of mush. Our consciousness is who we are, not a brain, body, etc. Until our souls give these flesh suits the neurological electricity to become animated, they are no different than any other inanimate, organic object. Theyll never move, never think, or never experience. We are the ghosts in the machines....

THANKYOU so much for telling this honest account, I practiced as a hospice nurse and have been at the side of several people at the moment of their death and have experienced what I would call their spirit leaving their body, I myself had brief NDE during the caesarean birth of my first child and experienced my consciousness exiting my body out the crown of my head, I witnessed events in the operating room just before being drawn into a tunnel and felt myself moving toward a circle of light, My conclusion there is no death and if we “sleep” at the moment of our dying as some believe it says in the Bible , it is only a brief sleep and we regain full awareness and the eventual realization that we have physically passed out of our bodies

Highly interesting. To separate the wheat from the chaff, operating rooms have been installing signs up above the top of the lamp in the operating room where no one can see the note in the hope that if a spirit was above the table that the patient would see the note and tell doctors about what the note said. In this case the post it notes lined up on the screen is a substitute and lends great credence to the story. I have a heard of another case about a young boy describing a tennis shoe on top of the hospital roof. They checked and tennis shoe was there! This is only the second case I’ve heard of any external validation.

I had arrived at 4pm when my contractions were every 5 minutes. By 9pm they were every three minutes. It was painfully long and slow. By 11pm I was wanting to push. For four hours I pushed and pushed. I was in severe distress and extremely exhausted. I told the midwife time and again that the head was too big. She said it is a 6lb baby and I should have no trouble giving birth. Eventually she gave in at 2.45am. She cut me and the baby shot out like a bullet. They just caught her before she fell off the end of the table. She had a huge head and weighted 8lb I tore inside and out and lost a lot of blood. I went into immediate shock and my heart stopped beating. It was pandemonium. A nurse rushed in to pump my heart. Someone else rushed in with frozen blood and put it on the radiator. A junior doctor was reading my notes in a panic. He was just turning pages and pacing. He just didn’t know what to do. Another nurse yelled for a mask. She couldn’t give me oxygen because the mask was missing from the oxygen tube. A doctor asked for a mobile x-ray machine to see if it was an embolism. Then he asked a nurse to empty my bladder. She threw the contents away and the doctor went mad because he had wanted a sample or urine. A female doctor started shouting at me and saying ‘wake up’. How do I know all this? I watched it. The pain after giving birth was so bad that I decided to leave my body. I knew I was not supposed to, but I said, just for a minute to get away from the pain. I sat up and my top half of my spirit was at the head and my legs were still inside. I was being warned in my head ‘no more’, but I ignored it and headed for the ceiling. I was going backwards and there was a kind of misty tunnel which I went up. I landed on something firm, but I was in a doorway looking out at the mist. Someone was behind me stopping me from going further. I imaged it to be Jesus due to the compassion that flowed from him. He said telepathically ‘what do you want to do?’ I said I wanted to stay. He said ‘what about your daughter?’ I immediately got a picture of her life without me. I saw my husband in a sports car with a gold watch on his wrist, driving west down a straight motorway to go visit his daughter. When he got there his elderly parents were sitting on a sofa, and the baby was sitting on the floor looking dreadfully unhappy. I immediately decided I would go back. While out of my body I had no negativity at all. I was pure compassion. I could only think what was best for others. At that moment there was a wave of approval. I then realised there were hundreds of angels behind the man. They were flapping their wings and it sounded like applause. I was immediately rushed back to my body, and I have to say it was the worst experience of my life. Getting back inside the body was awful. I was overcome by pain as I slid in, and it felt as though I was too big to fit. It was like being squeezed into an iron lung. I immediately regretted my decision. I was so depressed. I was sewn up and that was awful too. The pain was as bad as the labour. I suffered for months and months with the effects of the tearing. I was unconscious for some time. When I woke up my husband was by my bed. I was in intensive care. He had left the hospital at 3.30 am and got phoned immediately to come back as ‘your wife is dying’. He looked shocked but was pleased to see me coming round. I was too weak to even wash myself and the nurses had to do it. After some time I went onto a ward and I could finally meet my daughter. Before I was discharged a consultant came to see me. I asked him what happened. He said ‘oh you lost some blood so we had to give you a transfusion. Everything is OK now though’. That was a lie. The blood loss was minimal. He never mentioned my heart stopping, being resuscitated, the pandemonium. As you can imagine, I try to stay away from hospitals and doctors now. I do not trust them at all.

@@tim59ism Hiya. Well once I was suffering, it was as if my body allowed my spirit to take a break. The minute the top half of me was out, I knew everything. I just knew that if I slid out I would not be popular, but I just wanted some respite. Once out it was bliss. I had no body, but it was if I was exactly the same. The difference was the fact that I knew things and could talk telepathically. It was all so right. I did not want to go back. It was sheer bliss out there. I was obviously being controlled in some way because of the way that master blocked me from going too far. I knew I could think something and it would happen, but he read my mind and gently stopped me. He didn't tell me anything, just got me to see what would happen if I stayed. I saw such clear pictures. Because you are total compassion when not in a body, you only make decisions that are positive. Once in the body again I was full of pain, hurt, depression, fear - all the negative emotions that are obviously only part of the body and not the spirit. The bit I didn't say was that, not long afterward my husband's parents moved to Wales. We used to drive down the M4 to visit them. I soon realised this was the motorway and the house they bought was the one I saw. Even the carpet was the same. It was so spooky to realise this at a later date. Seeing my daughter in this house was a premonition. However, if I had not been here, my daughter would only see her father now and again.

@@lynneheather4483 Again, thanks very much for that, Lynne ! Can I just press you a little bit more on the leaving your body bit ? How did you actually know you could do that (leave your body ) in the first place ? Was it just obvious or did it become obvious that you would be able to leave behind your body ? I accept that this really does happen and I believe you but most people would not think that they could accomplish such a thing as leaving their body, they wouldn't believe that they even possessed something else (other than their physical self) that COULD leave their body, do you see what I mean ? This is a really interesting NDE, the other components I have certainly heard of before !

@@tim59ism Hi again. I see what you mean now. What happened is that I was dying and my body started to leave. Once my head started to rise I suddenly knew everything. I knew I must not leave entirely. Sitting up was relieving the pain while they pumped my heart. However, once you are out the desire is to leave. Which I did. If my heart hadn't stopped I don't think I would know how to leave even if I wanted to. It is obviously the first thing the spirit does as you die, is start to leave the body. As I said, as soon as my head left I knew things. I knew not to leave entirely but I ignored that. It was just so pain-free and peaceful out of the body. No-one made me come back. It was my choice. However you become so unselfish and pure when you are not in the body that you only make the best decisions. The child was the important thing which overrode my feelings. I desperately wished I hadn't decided to come back once in the body, but that is because all the negative emotions were back. I have been constantly shocked at how toxic the body must be, to feel so different when you are in it to how you feel when you are out of it.

I flattened on the scope at my last heart attack. I was looking at the monitor when it happened. A shimmering curtain came down and I could suddenly see all through the hospital. There were these huge beings throughput the hospital. I thought they are not looking at me. Who are these men? A voice replied THESE ARE THE WATCHERS OF SOULS. My next thought was that they were not looking at me. The same voice said IT'S NOT YOUR TIME. I immediately came back to myself and the nurses were standing over me with paddles. I had been in absolute agony you for over 4 hours. The pain was completely gone. That was 36 years ago and I am now 76. Jesus is Lord.

It was 1955 and my mother was in bed asleep when she was woken by the sound of rain coming into the attic above her. She was annoyed as she'd only just cleaned up in there so imagine her surprised when she got up and went in later to find it bone dry. Got a letter a few days later from her family in Ireland (we're in Sheffield) to let her know her father had died. My mum believed the sound of rain in the attic was sent by her father when he died.

@@tylerbray8233 When circumstances go beyond "coincidences" GOD gets the GLORY, and deservedly so. Far too many want to deny GOD, because for a short time they think it removes their responsibility to HIM. Ultimately, they will meet their CREATOR. Scripture states, "Only a fool says there is no GOD" If they can't admit that, that's Spiritual blindness. As far as time goes, we're only here a micro-flash. Think about it. Is our life pleasing our Creator? How can we better make the most of time?
