Another fun video! I love the ape-footed Mego Screaming Werewolf. The customs are really cool, too, especially the furry Jack Russell. You should get a Distinctive Dummies Naschy Werewolf when you get a chance. DD also did some good Curse Of The Werewolf figures. The one in the 2-pack is a little too bulked-up for my taste but the single 8" one is great. It's very bloody and has a Eerie Pubsy quality (I'm probably overly obsessed with Eerie Publications :)). I'm a huge fan of the Sideshow monster figures. Such high quality, and they were very reasonably priced when they came out 20 years ago. I'd hate to have to buy those now at eBay prices. The puzzle, and especially the Soaky, really resonate with me. I was born in '59 so I was a little kid when a lot of the original monster items were out. The Marx Monsters and Nutty Mads, Palmer Monsters, MPC Weird Monsters, and MPC Pop-Tops, were huge back then and I had (and still have) all of those. My mom bought me a Haunted Hulk in 1964 and I still have it, though I had to replace some of the pieces to complete it. Remco Hamilton's Invaders and Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea toys and playsets, MPC King Kong Jungle Set and Window Box Set, Marx Prehistoric Times Playsets, etc. were what I grew up with, and either kept or replaced throughout the years. I, too, have the Soakies, and the Anchor-Hocking monster glasses, and the Elwar monster pinback buttons sold in vending machines and Captain Company ads. There's a lot of monster items I don't have from the '60s, but I'm really happy to have what I've managed to keep from childhood and accumulate as a collector. When I see a monster item like that Soaky it really speaks to me because that's from when I was entering the best time of life- when you realize you're a Monster Kid.

I was a 70’s monster kid born in 68 but still loved all that great 50’s and 60’s stuff. It sounds like you have an amazing collection yourself. Marx toys ruled! I had the 70’s playsets. Prehistoric world, Battleground, Navarone and knights and Vikings. Great stuff! Have you read the book on Eerie publications. Mike Howlett the author lives in my neck of the woods and I’ve seen him at conventions and interacted with him on Facebook. It’s a great book. I highly recommend it. He has a new one coming out that focuses on the covers. Sideshows are great and can still be found for reasonable prices. I have all the Frankenstein’s. I’m not a mint in box guy so I’ll be opening them soon to display. The Sanctum really is like a museum! :) so many comics and toys etc. I love reading your comments. It seems you maintained your love for this stuff as most of us Monster kids do for a lifetime! Why is that do you suppose ? I’m sure I’ll be chasing Naschy Werewolves soon. I love that as much as I’ve seen/collected there are still so many things I haven’t seen yet. Anything special on your Halloween watch list this year?

@@doctordurantssanctum1977 Yeah, Marx was the king of toys, even though some of the MPC monster toy packaging is unsurpassed in it's coolness. I limit myself to Monster/Sci-Fi/Dinosaur/Fantasy type toys so the only Marx playsets I collect are the prehistoric sets. It's really all I have room or money for since Marx made so many playsets. The Prehistoric Mountain playsets from the '70s are some of the best Marx ever did. I also made a few custom playsets over the years, and bought a couple of customs from eBay sellers. Yes, I have The Weird World Of Eerie Publications and The Weird Indexes Of Eerie Publications. I only have about a third of the Eerie Pubs issues, 86 to be exact, but I have many of the "keys"- the 1st issues of Weird and Tales Of Voodoo, as well as the Tales From The Crypt one-shot. I have a few of the Stanleys also. Where Eerie Pubs are the ugly stepchild of the Warrens, the Stanleys are the ugly stepchild of the Eerie Pubs, but the Stanleys are more scarce. Most of the Warren and Marvel monster mag titles were easy to complete 20 years ago, but some of the Warrens were/are quite expensive. I couldn't afford to complete them now. Even the Marvel monster mags are getting expensive, and I bought most of those for $5 or less 20 years ago. I have added a few items recently in celebration of Halloween- the three new Halloween Boglin "Dark Lords" after seeing Raymond Castile's video, and a repro of the Clinton Frankenstein Candy Bucket. I usually don't go for reproductions but the original Clinton Frankenstein Buckets have gotten so expensive I went ahead and grabbed a painted repop so I could enjoy the sculpt. If I ever find a great deal on an original I'll buy it but I don't expect to. I've also purchased several Blu-rays recently, mostly Hammer movies. The Shout! Factory Hammer BDs are worth the upgrade for Hammer fans. I don't have as much extra money as I used to. My main goal at this point is just to hold on to what I have and slowly add inexpensive pieces here and there. I do have a pretty good stash of extra items I've been accumulating for the past few years and I'll begin selling those off before long. That will give me some extra income to work with. What have you been picking up recently, besides the Naschy Collection BDs I mean? BTW, I'd like to address you by your first name if that's okay. You've been calling me Michael, which is fine, but I don't know your first name. We seem to be getting to know each other some through these YT comments.

@@michaeldodd6902 My name is Rich.Pleased to meet you! I'm enjoying our chats and you're recollections of things immensely. I don't collect Marx play-sets as they are too pricey and I don't have the room. I do have several boxes of my old Marx soldiers and Dinosaurs. I had the Prehistoric Mountain and you're right it was a cool-set. Sadly my mother threw it away at some point. I have a small portion of my original toys but most are well loved and played with as are my original comics. I really started buying Bronze Age stuff about 10 years ago and really got some nice stuff from Craigslist finds. I bought several boxes of Warren, Skywald and eerie pubs fro a guy for what i thought was an outrageous price of 300.00 at the time. Im glad I did as now that stuff is insane. I really love the 70's B&W mags. they really take me back. As for stuff Ive been buying. I just got most of the Boodega Universal Monsters from Super 7! I really like the 3 3/4 inch Creatures! I also just picked up The Bloodthirsty Trilogy Blu Ray from Arrow. its a trio of Japanese Vampire movies from the 70's heavily influenced by Hammer. Most blu rays I buy are fro the boutique labels. Scream factory,Vinegar Syndrome,Arrow and kino. I bought most of the scream factory Hammer Blu-rays. did you get the Mill Creek Hammer box set? Its great. it has a mix of Hammer action,Noir and horror. I did do a film episode where I discuss my favorite off beat Christmas movies. Check it out! Id love to see if you agree. I also have a Facebook page for the channel if you want to chat there, but chatting here is fine as well. facebook.com/groups/667547650841705 Ok, comic question for you. Whose an artist that you didn't like and later in life came around to and really enjoyed. I'm going with Richard Corben and Frank Robbins. As a kid Corben's stuff was just so disturbing! But now I love it and really dig the eerie unsettling quality it has. Robbins was another one I didn't enjoy until I really got the Milton Caniff influence he was going for. Now I love his retro Comic strip style.

@@doctordurantssanctum1977 Hey, Rich, good to know you. I have The Bloodthirsty Trilogy as well. It's fun to see a Japanese take on Hammer-style Gothic Horror. Most of the movies I buy are from the boutique labels as well. I'm much more interested in older genre films than most of the new stuff being pumped out in the last few years. That said though I do enjoy the MCU and the Legendary Pictures Monsterverse. I'm looking forward to the Marvel Monsters and related characters coming to the MCU like Ghost Rider, Blade, Werewolf By Night, Dracula, Moon Knight, Brother Voodoo, Simon Garth, Man-Thing, Mephisto, etc. Speaking of movies, I hear Synapse is working on a new Blu-ray for Tombs Of The Blind Dead loaded with special features. So far just Night Of The Seagulls has made it to BD and it'll be good to upgrade the old Blind Dead Collection coffin box with all four films on BD with all the extra features (though I'll never sell my coffin box DVD set :)). BTW, The Ghost Galleon seems to get less respect than the other three Blind Dead films but I love it. True that it shows it's low budget more than the others what with the cheap miniature burning ship at the end, but I look past that and enjoy it for the imagination fuel that it is. Maybe I'm a bit partial to it because it reminds me of my favorite monster toy the MPC Haunted Hulk. Anyway, I always enjoy watching it. For me Don Perlin comes to mind as someone who's art I didn't care for early on and I tended to warm up to later. I still don't think it's great, but I'm not as set against it as I was. I think the letdown from Ploog to Perlin on Werewolf By Night was pretty jarring at first, but over time I've come to appreciate Perlin's contributions to Marvel's Bronze Age. I've always loved Corben's work, especially those beautiful Warren stories in color. Frank Robbins' work I accept as okay, but below many of the Marvel stalwart pencilers like John and Sal Buscema, Gil Kane, Gene Colan, etc. Invaders is a favorite title of mine and I do wish another artist had been assigned to it. Kirby would have been great on Invaders, as would John Buscema. I'm not on the Book Of Faces but I'll continue to chat with you here. Till next time...
