Doc Severinsen Trumpet Clinic - Part 2 of 3
Музыка
Part 2 of the clinic by Doc Severinsen on trumpet playing. He goes through his entire warmup routine, actually warming up during the clinic. I believe this clinic was given in the early 1990's.

This was during the time when Doc was leader of the Tonight Show Band with Johnny Carson. Prior to that, Doc was a first-call trumpet player for studio work in New York City.

It is really insightful to just listen to a great player talk about his struggles with his chops and how he overcomes them every single day. Such honesty and matter of fact tone tells me a lot about how much he has had to work to get things right
Simply the BEST 👍🏼🎶🎵🎵🎶🎶🎵🎶🎶🎶♥️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!!
THIS.....is a real music lesson. So glad to find this. I had the pleasure of playing in a backup band for Doc many years ago for a show in Edmonton, Canada.....probably just a couple of years before he did this clinic. He always had the mouthpiece on his face, even between rehearsals. Buzzing, warming up....striving to be better and up to his standards. Very inspirational! What an amazing musician.
"There are no shortcuts on playing the trumpet...we should try to have as much fun playing it" - Took me a long time to learn that.

He is a masterful player that worked very hard to get as great as he is. I had the pleasure of taking lessons from some of the guys that played in that New York trumpet section.
The bow analogy around 23:00 is awesome.
un alma caritativa que subtitule en español estos tres clinics saludos gracias
I had no idea that Doc is that wise!
I remember seeing Doc give a similar Clinic in Kalamazoo, MI around the same time frame. I always wondered how Doc made it to his Gigs on time LOL
this is from 1990 because doc said he was 63 and as of this month he turned 85
