I have been sewing for almost 70 years, quilting for over 20. I love your approach for newbies...you dont assume that they know things that experienced sewists or quilters take for granted, like making a knot for hand sewing. You just fluidly include those instructions, not talking down to anyone. You're very thorough, but still make it fun and feel achievable for anyone. Keep up the great work! Im enjoying your channel😊

Totally agree!! I've been sending your videos to friends who want to learn how to sew...but I've never taught anyone how to (I'm self-taught) and don't know how to teach it. Ha! Not only that, but your videos are helping me help them with how you instruct! Thank you for that!
An old flannel shirt scrap would be a good alternative to the auto cloth.
To quote Jenny Doan... Finished is better than perfect.
I love your site. Your laugh is infectious. Well done!

PLEASE keep the longer tutorials! I'm learning to sew properly by watching your tutorials! Your are a natural teacher and entertainer! I'd love to see how to make a cross-body bag with a flap and pockets! I made my own, but didn't like the results as much as I had hoped. Love your channel!

Your nature is so perfect for keeping it light & fun, while sewing on the button “you didn’t know you were learning how to sew on a button today!” & the easy knot trick I didn’t know about until recently it’s so sweet you taught that too!

I was making the duffle bags and had to walk away halfway through. I think the probably is the needle is dull. I'll go back tonight when I am not so irritated, LOL. I was screaming "use a green button." The clear was cute too. Sometimes I put a drop of clear nail polish on the finished button if I am worried about wear and tear. I had an "1850's" dress for work at Greenfield Village that when the snaps came off, we would use dental floss for strength to sew the snaps back on, best hack ever.

It's true about that giant white towel. I despise microfiber, but this one is soft. Lol. I need to go back and get one after watching this😂
I want to make one of these now. I especially love the button and elastic touch. Thank you. I love to watch your videos.❤

I'm new to your channel! I just came across you the other day. I'm glad I found you! I am going to try your sewing thread knot trick and the button sewing finishing knot. I usually wrap the matched up ends around the end of my finger and roll the thread with my thumb and then pull it tight (if that makes sense) and I get a pretty big knot. Your button sewing finish incorporates the separate thread wrapping I do around the threads under the button. Pretty nice method!!!
You could get a eye glass string from the dollar tree and attach it to each side. Then you could have it around your neck at a festive or yard sales also hang it from rear view mirror.😊
This was so FUN!!!
Just started watching you, and I love how you explain in detail, but you don’t talk constantly and manically. You make it fun and relaxing and don’t talk about the project so much before, during and after, that I give up and go to something else. Like on Dragnet, “just the facts, ma’am”. Everyone has their own style, and their preference, and I prefer yours.

Great idea to use dish mats!
This is a great scrap buster. I would love to learn how to remove the ribbing neckline from a tee shirt to finish it with a nicer more feminine scoop neckline.
I made one this weekend and it’s super cute! I’m a new sewist. Learned in high school back in 1990 and haven’t sewed since. There was some trial and error but I got it done. It’s definitely not perfect but I love it! Thank you for all your tutorials and fun, functional, cost effective ideas!

Use dental floss when attaching the button instead of thread. It is stronger and won't require too many button hole passes.
You are so brave sewing in black. 😂 i have 1 pair of black slacks, that are forever more to be called sewing pants. Tiny threads are just embedded in them. Even after washing several times.

The needle organizer pad was out of stock on Amazon but I was able to get on sale at Joann’s with $1.99 shipping coupon. The car was cloth makes great winter trees. Just wrap and pin onto styrofoam trees.
I make mine out of dollar tree potholders, just fold in half and sew up three quarters .
❤❤
Maybe a simple wallet or card holder
👍🏻👍🏻🤗❤️
Chelsea, would you consider making min-oven mitts? The oval ones?
Do you have a video doing troubleshooting problems while you saw?
Wow u idea
Can you make tea wallet
I made 2 so far watching your video and rewinding and rewinding and rewinding but got 2 of them done! Not sure how to send you a picture of them on here.
can you turn your mike volume up just a bit? Thank you!!
I’m trying to make a holder for a tall mug for my daughters water bottle for soccer. I want it to have a strap on it. Any ideas? Thanks!
What size needle did you use? I am not sure mine is the right size. I am having issues with my thread breaking and troubleshooting problems can be the hardest part of sewing.
Could I use this with bigger squares for iPad case?
@shesewsseams
Ай бұрын
I have an iPad case tutorial!
I’m so going to make this….Question about your ruler, your Amazon store front shows a Fiskars, but the numbers don’t look the same…. Is there a different brand with large numbers….
How could you add a strap to this to slip over the sunvisor in your car?
What section of the dollar tree can u find that auto cloth
@michellenitschke5485

I'd guess the auto section
Wont the glue stick used between the mat and the outside fabric get the needle all sticky?

That’s very good news. I did see in the video that there was no issue. I just had a flashback to a time when I used some kind of sewing sticky tape. I don’t remember exactly, it was a long time ago. It totally trashed my needle and the project! I had a flashback when I saw that glue going on the fabric!
