    A tall you need to do to survive is do What most people do that survive violent crime every day and that is they strive to survive. What we are doing is helping by giving you alternatives to panic base responses and giving actual strategic tactical responses to increase your survivability. It’s important to remember that police officers have been disarmed by untrained criminals and regular people and regular citizens have been disarmed by regular citizens throughout history and many police officers have disarmed citizens without any disarm training.

    No when the slide goes back that is how the shell casing is extracted from the chamber after the bullet is shot or after you push the slide to the rear which automatically extracts the UN fired bullet not just the casing from the chamber. When you push the slide the rear it also disengage the trigger until it’s pushed back forward and in order to stop that you simply press the gun back towards the assailant and you attack them very quickly turn the barrel up towards them and go forward there’s no time for them to redirect or to drop back or to pull the gun back away from you if you are the victim you will be able to redirect the gun before they can put her on back

However, never ever ever ever would i advice anyone to try that! The amount of adrenaline on you and your assailant is beyond what you could imagine or handle and the unpredictability of you missing the slide as you're all shaky trying to grab it or the other person beating you to the squeeze, and your as good as dead

    I think the most important skill to have in this situation is reading/feeling your opponents level of alertness. Many perfectly viable techniques in combat sports don't really work unless you catch somebody lacking basically. Talking about escapes from bad positions in the ground, submissions, throws or advances in position in wrestling etc. Realizing at what point the attacker in this case is being slightly less focused or being a little distracted could multiply your window of opportunity to perform a technique.

I think the best move at gunpoint is to comply and try to keep the situation calm. Besides I don’t carry cash and I have insurance. I’ll be able to recover most of what I’m robbed the next day.

    Best defense is to de-escalate and comply. If that doesn’t work, we have options that can increase your survivability.

  • @DetroitThreatManagementCenter

    @DetroitThreatManagementCenter

    2 жыл бұрын

    This is not a choice of compliance or non compliance, The choice is to stop yourself from getting shot or stop yourself from getting shot repeatedly. Hundreds of women and children and thousands of men have been killed like this. Fortunately for some men women and children they were able to disarm their aggressors and save themselves and their family members. These people had no training I’ve never taken a karate class but they refused to allow themselves and their family members to perish so they simply fight back and they won. The purpose of these videos is to increase a persons likelihood of survivability so they don’t have to make things up so they can understand the science of how they can survive.

    Yes if you comply you die that is why police do not comply with violent criminals with guns. Thousands of men women and children were shot and killed after they did everything they were told to do. No people died using our tactics and we have used our tactics successfully for the past 27 years.

    You have to put your hands up and take a totally submissive approach. With this technique you can get your hands up closer to the weapon. You can grab the gun, his brain has to acknowledge movement, then the brain has to tell finger to pull trigger. Definitely an move that can be done with practice.

    It's a move that cannot be done, and has been proven to fail in pretty much every attempt to replicate it in full-speed training against an actively resisting assailant.

    @@zubdub2506 "had been proven to fail in PRETTY much every attempt" it takes the perp at least .25 of a second to realize you have moved. Its science. Better to have a plan than just be their victim.

    Everything we teach we can demonstrate works 100% in training which means it Will work even better in real life because in real life no violent criminal believes you’re gonna take the gun in the first place and that’s how we were able to defeat them in many situations because they could not understand why we lacked fear and why we attack them when they were numerically superior physically superior

    I pulled over in a bad part of the D when I lived there years ago. I was looking for a grocery store I had business with for the 1st time. 2 suvs pass me and park in front of me on both sides of the street about 30 yards ahead. One guy gets out, stands in the middle of the road, then points his hands at me like it’s a gun. He stared with the most evil look. I got out of there unharmed, but I can see why this cop is so serious about this. The D can be a scary place!
