    They're definitely an expensive item, that's for sure! Costly upfront AND costly to run and maintain. But that's the great thing with buying the freeze dried food here: wickedprepared.thrivelife.com/monthly-specials/june-specials.html By purchasing food that's already freeze dried, you eliminate the upfront cost of a freeze dryer, and you save a bunch of time! You can build you inventory bit by bit, as your budget allows. If you have any questions or need any tips, email me at info@wickedprepared.com or text me at 207-762-7138

They sometimes bring things back on a limited run if they get enough requests, so maybe send an email in telling them you'd love to see it come back 😉 The more requests they get the more likely they are to bring it back!

I live above a 60 acre mandarin orchard and have canned a zillion mandarin jars and wonder would using the liquid interfer with the refreshing or the recipe. ?? My only issue with these meals are that the freeze dried meats you have to buy is ridiculously expensive! The vegetables aren’t that bad! I have alot of vegetables I’ve bought but I can’t afford the meats.

  • @wickedprepared

    @wickedprepared

    Ай бұрын

    Some people will make the jar without the meat and add fresh meat when preparing. Another option would be to look into using a tvp meat substitute which are cheaper than real meat. Also if you aren't on my text list, text SALE to (207) 762-7138 and I will put you on my list to be notified whenever there are sales. A few times a year there are big sales when things go 40-50% off. I always try to grab things on sale. Another thing you can do to cut the cost is use less meat and bulk it up with more veggies or a cheaper protein like beans. That works even with regular meals that aren't freeze dried- even fresh meat is expensive these days! It's almost always the most costly part of any meal. Remember with freeze dried foods every part is edible- on fresh meat there tends to be fat, skin, gristle, bones, juices that drain out and the like... parts we pay for but end up throwing away. With freeze dried foods we aren't paying for any of that.

    @@wickedprepared that makes a lot of sense! Thank you for getting back with me. I’ll consider all of that! Sorry I'm just seeing this question. There are all kinds of theories and research done on this ... many people have tested these meals out to 15 years and they've been fine. Others say they only last 6-8 years at best. So there's a wide range, and many variables. But the key to remember, the item with the shortest shelf life will dictate how long the meal is good for. So it varies from recipe to recipe.
