I am ocd since I was a child I passed throught many abusive and neglective situations as a child and then as an adolecent. I hided in my world in the disorded, then when this had absorved my whole life, people tried to help me, but I realized that is all an internal process. Now days I take my meds, I go to the doctor once a while and most important I love myself as I am, I now I could never be totally cured but I say myself, one day at time and move on.

I developed OCD during my childhood. I was 12 when I recognized that I had these obsessive thoughts and strange rituals to help ease my fears. But I kept this a secret until I was 16. I told my older sister and eventually my family and my friends helped me, they encouraged me to step away little by little from my obsessive thoughts and not give into my desire to check, double check, and triple check things like the door lock, the stove, and so on. I’m 31 now, I still suffer from anxiety but my OCD has subsided significantly through the help of my support network. If you have OCD, reach out for help so that you don’t have to suffer anymore.

Omg my ex boyfriend had OCD so bad sometimes I couldn’t go to his house after he cleaned ! He would spend nights at home cleaning instead of coming to see me for a date. Also after he put on clean clothes and he would come to my house I couldn’t touch his clothes It was so heartbreaking 😥 I used to take it personally but then I knew it wasn’t about me He had mental illness- I felt so sad for him poor guy - took his own life last year after we dated for 3 years 😪

Thank you Mel ❤️ I have been recently saying to myself “it’s the FEAR of the event going wrong- that’s my choice of reaction and not in fact the outcome or the reality of the situation that will happen”. Although the compulsion is hard to break, this tool I find works to know when my brain is labelling the situation with a fear of a negative outcome rather than what might actually happen. Practicing separating fear from actuality of the situation.

Fabulous Mel Robbins you are a miracle worker. My three children have OCD and PTSD. Each one demonstrates different emphasis on the categories. Where can I find this full episode.

My OCD is under control. The intrusive thoughts had to be mastered and stepping back and I ow you are not your thoughts. Don't need to judge them because when you chase after to confront them, with practice they go away. Hits terrorizing when you don't know what it is you got. Bob
