The first time I watched one of Fr. Meyer’s videos, I wasn’t sure about how I felt about him as a priest. Now I have no question, I wish all priests could have his dedication to Jesus. We need more priests like him in the NO church. I am now totally committed to the Latin Mass but still believe there is a place for both types of Mass. Good work, Father. We need more priests like you.

Every parish should have a Father Jonathan Meyer. Priests please do not fear to give us what we are desperate to hear because there is a lot of ignorance about our catholic faith and many are misinformed Right from wrong has to be revived.thank you Father Jonathan

This is sooo important to be conveyed to our youth. No one explains to them these truths. I am taking this to my Sunday school (sri lanka). *THE BODY & BLOOD OF CHRIST* is the Unleavened Bread & the Grape Wine the "real" or "literal" body & blood of Christ? why is it that ALL Christians (Catholics, Orthodox, Protestants) were NOT breaking the Unleavened Bread (pass it among each other), nor drink the Grape Wine from the Cup (goblet) in its most "literal" way? how does a real Passover Unleavened Bread look like? was it really a Grape Wine, NOT a Grape Juice (as most Protestants were drinking) NOR a Grape Vinegar? in the Catholic daily Mass, why is it that ONLY the Priests were allowed to drink the Grape Wine (from a goblet), while the rest of the parishioners were simply NOT allowed to drink from it? do you think the Passover Unleavened Bread & the Grape Wine during the Last Supper should NOT be interpreted LITERALLY, then doctrinally endorsed or observed that way? legalistically-speaking, if the Passover Unleavened Bread & the Grape Wine should be interpreted "symbolically" or "metaphorically" (rather than literally) -- what do you think were the real, contextual symbolism that the Unleavened Bread & the Grape Wine each represent?

Read [John 6] Carlos, the whole chapter, not just isolated, inspirational sentences like protestants do. To Catholics in this comment section. We have to be patient with our separated brothers. Be kind with Carlos. There is a good reason why a protestant like Carlos come to a Catholic channel to listen to the REAL Presence of The Lord, even when their demeanor is to insult and fish reactions from us. He comes with anger, resentment and vitriol in his heart... Proof enough that Carlos does not come with The Good News of The Lord.

I agree there Beverly. First time I stumbled upon him, I was abit iffy. But, he tells it like it is. He is like Fr. Altman, not afraid to wake up the flock and tell them they are in danger of losing their souls & their Shepherd. The note that I must, if driving by any church, cross myself to my Lord, or get out & kneel.. I'm starting right away. I did not know this. But, he was right... we should be on the ground crawling to our Lord for His Holiness and grace. I thank God & the Holy Trinity They are loving. I pray Adoration here becomes more than a few hours.. I love Adoration.

You'll never have the Holy Spirit instead you have mysteries of men. Reply: If you understand apostolic succession which the Catholic Church has always claimed, then you must also know the great commission our Lord Jesus gave to the Apostles right? “And Jesus coming, spoke to them, saying: All power is given to me in heaven and in earth. Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.” (Mathew 28:18-20). And he breathed the Holy Ghost on the Apostles right? “He said therefore to them again: Peace be to you. As the Father hath sent me, I also send you. When he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: Receive ye the Holy Ghost,” (John 20:21-22). Our Lord Jesus even said to his Apostles, “He who hears you hears me, and he who rejects you rejects me” (Luke 10:16). God says do not have any graven images nor bow down to them. He's a jealous God Reply: (CCC-2110) The first commandment forbids honoring gods other than the one Lord who has revealed himself to his people. It proscribes superstition and irreligion. Superstition in some sense represents a perverse excess of religion; irreligion is the vice contrary by defect to the virtue of religion. Sacred art is used to evangelize, catechize and inspire. It is also used to show reverence and honor for God and His saints. When a Catholic kneels or bows in prayer before a statue, they are not worshiping it in any way whatsoever. Jesus was addressing the hypocrisy of the scribes and the Pharisees. Since the Bible frequently speaks of this spiritual fatherhood, we Catholics acknowledge it and follow the custom of the Apostles by calling our priests “father.” Failure to acknowledge this is a failure to recognize and honor a great gift God has bestowed on the Church: the spiritual fatherhood of the priesthood. God says do not do repetitive prayers Reply: “And in praying do not heap up empty phrases (“vain repetitions” in KJV) as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their many words.” (Mathew 6:7). The verse above your referring to if read in context is Jesus saying “do not heap up ‘empty phrases’ (Gr. - battalagesete, which means to stammer, babble, prate, or to repeat the same things over and over mindlessly) as the Gentiles do…” The pagans would say their incantations, offer their sacrifice, but there was no real connection between the moral life and the prayer. Jesus is saying that this will be different in the New Covenant Kingdom of God! One must pray from a heart of repentance and submission to God’s will, so we Catholics don’t repeat prayers mindlessly for the sake of repetition but rather when praying we truly enter into the words so the words are from the heart, not the number of times they are said. God says not by works but by grace alone Reply: James says, “A man is justified by works and not by faith alone.” (James 2:24). “For even as the body without the spirit is dead; so also faith without works is dead.” (James 2:26). The Catholic understanding of justification is the Church teaches that salvation is a process of becoming holier and holier through time. All of this is a work of grace that God performs in our hearts through faith. Works done in faith are the natural completion of believing in Christ. As we trust and do God’s work, he instills within us more grace so that we may become holier and so be ready to meet him at the end of our life

Do not pray to the dead Reply: (CCC-958) Communion with the dead. "In full consciousness of this communion of the whole Mystical Body of Jesus Christ, the Church in its pilgrim members, from the very earliest days of the Christian religion, has honored with great respect the memory of the dead; and 'because it is a holy and a wholesome thought to pray for the dead that they may be loosed from their sins' she offers her suffrage's for them." Our prayer for them is capable not only of helping them, but also of making their intercession for us effective. "For Christ also died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit; in which he went and preached to the spirits in prison, who formerly did not obey ." (1 Peter 3:18-20). This verse only makes sense if you believe in Purgatory (where are the spirits in prison?). “For this is why the gospel was preached even to the dead, that though judged in the flesh like men, they might live in the spirit like God.” (1Pet.4:6). "It is therefore a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead, that they may be loosed from sins." (2 Machabees 12:46). These verses only makes sense if you believe in Purgatory, which protestants and evangelicals do not. God says they worship my creation rather than the creator. Reply: “Who changed the truth of God into a lie; and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.” (Romans 1:25). Paul writes to the Romans and verse 21-31 he points out the philosophy of the heathens, being void of faith and humility, betrayed them into shameful sins. And God delivered them up by withdrawing his grace, and so permitting them, in punishment of their pride, to fall into those shameful sins. God says only He can forgive sins Reply: “He said therefore to them again: Peace be to you. As the Father hath sent me, I also send you. When he had said this, he breathed on them; and he said to them: Receive ye the Holy Ghost. Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained.” (John 20:21-23). Here Christ gave the Apostles the power to forgive sins. God says do not add to or subtract from His Word and if you do let them be an anathema. Reply: Luther and his reformers removed seven complete OT Books, seven books fewer than there are in the Catholic Bible, Tobias, Baruch, Judith, Wisdom, Ecclesiasticus, I Machabees, II Machabees, together with seven chapters of the Book of Esther and 66 verses of the 3rd chapter of Daniel called "the Song of the Three Children." Another example of what Luther did to the gospel was, not pleased with St Paul's doctrine, "we are justified by faith", he added the word "only" after St Paul's words, making the sentence run: "We are justified by Faith only," and so it reads in Lutheran Bibles to this day. “Understanding this first, that no prophecy of scripture is made by private interpretation.” (2 Peter 1:20). "No prophecy of scripture is made by private interpretation": This verse clearly shows that the scriptures are not to be expounded by any one's private judgment or private spirit, because every part of the holy scriptures were written by men inspired by the Holy Ghost, and declared as such by the Church. The true “rule of faith”-as expressed in the Bible itself-is Scripture plus apostolic tradition, as manifested in the living teaching authority of the Catholic Church, to which were entrusted the oral teachings of Jesus and the apostles, along with the authority to interpret Scripture correctly, not by personal interpretation or your imagination. God says a Bishop must be married and have a family. Reply: While recognizing that celibacy is not demanded by the very nature of the priesthood, the Council affirmed ways celibacy is in harmony with the priesthood: Through celibacy, a priest, identifying himself with Christ, dedicates his whole life to the service of his Lord and the church. Celibacy enables the priest to focus entirely on building up the kingdom of God here and now. Priests can “cling to Christ with undivided hearts and dedicate themselves more freely in Him and through Him to the service of God and of men” God says it's better to tie a milestone around your neck and throw yourself to the bottom of the sea than to touch one of his little ones. Reply: “But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea.” (Mark 9:42). The teaching of this verse regards the extreme gravity of causing any humble believer to lose his faith in the Lord and fall into sin. Persons guilty of such a breach of the will of God would be better off drowned in the sea. Pray to certain saints for certain prayers. Reply: (CCC-956) The intercession of the saints. "Being more closely united to Christ, those who dwell in heaven fix the whole Church more firmly in holiness. . . . They do not cease to intercede with the Father for us, as they proffer the merits which they acquired on earth through the one mediator between God and men, Christ Jesus . . . . So by their fraternal concern is our weakness greatly helped." (CCC-957) Communion with the saints. "It is not merely by the title of example that we cherish the memory of those in heaven; we seek, rather, that by this devotion to the exercise of fraternal charity the union of the whole Church in the Spirit may be strengthened. Exactly as Christian communion among our fellow pilgrims brings us closer to Christ, so our communion with the saints joins us to Christ, from whom as from its fountain and head issues all grace, and the life of the People of God itself" We worship Christ as God's Son; we love the martyrs as the Lord's disciples and imitators, and rightly so because of their matchless devotion towards their king and master. May we also be their companions and fellow disciples! Pray to Mary. Reply: (CCC-495) Called in the Gospels "the mother of Jesus", Mary is acclaimed by Elizabeth, at the prompting of the Spirit and even before the birth of her son, as "the mother of my Lord".144 In fact, the One whom she conceived as man by the Holy Spirit, who truly became her Son according to the flesh, was none other than the Father's eternal Son, the second person of the Holy Trinity. Hence the Church confesses that Mary is truly "Mother of God" (Theotokos) (CCC-487) What the Catholic faith believes about Mary is based on what it believes about Christ, and what it teaches about Mary illumines in turn its faith in Christ. (CCC-957) Communion with the saints. God says only He can forgive sins. In your church there's a confession booth to have a father forgive your sins instead of God. Reply: Same answer as 8. Again, Jesus says call no man Father, you say hey the church has been structured a certain way, just read what the church fathers say and call the priest father. Reply: Same answer as 3. You also have another gospel (catechism) added to His Word. Reply: Another false accusation by protestants and bible Christians! The Catholic Church catechism sums up, in book form, the beliefs of the Catholic faithful. You guys forbid a Bishop to be married Reply: Same answer as 10. Your priest molest the little ones. Reply: It is very sad that this has been happening in the Church. But you must understand that sexual abuse is not isolated to the Catholic clergy, this problem also happens in protestant and evangelical churches. But unlike the Catholic structure, protestant and evangelical churches are largely self-governing. This means it mostly lacks the kind of bureaucratic record that might prove systemic abuse the way it’s been documented in Catholic dioceses. Look online and you’ll see the epidemic of denial about sexual abuse in the evangelical church. William I hope some of these answers clarify misconceptions about the Catholic Church our Lord Jesus left to Peter to watch over and feed his sheep! Bratty, Did Jesus spoon feed His disciples? Here take this is my body , this should not become a silly stumbling block . Which of the four cups of wine in the Passover accompany the Matzo? Your Eucharist lacks the reality of the Passover meal. Jesus celebrated the Passover not the Eucharist.

When i used to go to catholic church we used to take only the bread but not the wine, only the priests and maybe altar boys and deacons got wine. Just wondering if its ok to get only one

As an Orthodox, i find this homily inspiring for the people who don't fully understand the meaning of the Eucharist. But let me raise my hand for 10:34 and say that even though the red colour could represents a red light that forces you to stop, the red colour in the Church, actually represents divinity :) Hence why we always put a red veil on the Eucharist in the Orthodox Church. But may God bless this Priest and keep up his good work through his ministry and great speeches.

I've been learning a little about the significance of colors in iconography -- not that I remember each, but the fact that it's consistent throughout the ages makes me sing praise to God for the way His creatures preach the Gospel. For one who grows up in the tradition of icons, the entire message of the image is read at a glance. We don't have anything that consistent in the Western Church as far as the symbolism of color. If I recall correctly, the colors of the vestments and adornment in churches for feasts and penitential seasons were determined in the late 1800s (perhaps changed from earlier instructions). Red for the light didn't represent a stop sign in those days, so there were other reasons for choosing that color -- and I'm not sure if it was random or if the origins were in the early, pre-schismatic Church and we just lost the reasons in the West. But making another association familiar to modern minds is a good teaching method, I think. May God be with you!

*THE BODY & BLOOD OF CHRIST* is the Unleavened Bread & the Grape Wine the "real" or "literal" body & blood of Christ? why is it that ALL Christians (Catholics, Orthodox, Protestants) were NOT breaking the Unleavened Bread (pass it among each other), nor drink the Grape Wine from the Cup (goblet) in its most "literal" way? how does a real Passover Unleavened Bread look like? was it really a Grape Wine, NOT a Grape Juice (as most Protestants were drinking) NOR a Grape Vinegar? in the Catholic daily Mass, why is it that ONLY the Priests were allowed to drink the Grape Wine (from a goblet), while the rest of the parishioners were simply NOT allowed to drink from it? do you think the Passover Unleavened Bread & the Grape Wine during the Last Supper should NOT be interpreted LITERALLY, then doctrinally endorsed or observed that way? legalistically-speaking, if the Passover Unleavened Bread & the Grape Wine should be interpreted "symbolically" or "metaphorically" (rather than literally) -- what do you think were the real, contextual symbolism that the Unleavened Bread & the Grape Wine each represent?

Amen. Absolutely. WE are the temple of the Lord and we receive the body blood soul and divinity of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist, which is why we must be pure and not in mortal sin when we receive Him into our body.

This homily literally made me cry. I love the Lord so much. I can't wait to be in mass as often as I can.

Another outstanding Homily. I am forever grateful for the Divine Intervention that nudged me towards your channel, I just can't believe how much I didn't know! I wish every Priest would explain the symbols and the reasons behind why we do the things we do at church, I feel so enlightened. I'm going to listen again and this time take notes.

W-O-W!!!!! I have never heard that about wearing a Veil that makes perfect sense and deep respect of oneself because how God made us the women. I always felt that when I had my first child and how special God made us to help bring children to Him and now you put it all together. W-O-W!!!!!

Because they are schismatics, meaning they are out of the full communion with the Church having been lead by the disobedient Lefebvre who thought of himself as more Catholic than the Pope and the Council resisted and rejected the reforms of Vatican II especially on the liturgy and religious freedom. Attending them do not fulfill Sunday obligations.

Thank you Fr. Meyer. It is so refreshing to listen to a sermon that is so much on fire for our Lord. The scandals all around among our clergy has been so sad and depressing. So, to listen to Fr. Meyer is like a cool breath of fresh air on a dry hot summer day. Thank you and may God mightily bless you, Father.

Jesus is truly present in the Eucharist. Do Eucharistic adoration and Jesus will show you that he is there for you. I did not know it until I do Eucharistic adoration on a regular basis. Now I sit before the blessed Sacrement 2 hrs a day and I am having the best time of my life. Come, taste and see it for yourself.

This escalated quickly, sent it to my pastor.

This past Sunday we went to a church that not a single time did we genuflect during the entire service. I honestly forgot which part of the mass we have to genuflect so I become one of them and it made my heart so heavy. You see, at my regular church everybody does it and it became automatic. During communion much to my surprise I discovered that their host isn’t flat. It was a tiny rectangular formed bread.

To: Father Jonathan Mayer, I am a catholic born and raised in the the Philippines, Baptist’s in the church, and your questioned was if any Christian believed in the presence of the Eucharist in time of a mass? Yes! I do believed that he was there, even though we don’t see him, but his spirits are there with us. I know my comment is a bit odd, but my feelings are his there, and I am a believer! Amen.........🙏

Jonathan , Greetings in Christ, *Amazing and passionate instructions on Eucharistic faith,* thanks Father, all the mystery of salvation is centred around Eucharist and it is an experience of growing in love , each of the days of our life. Jesus offers eternal life to all through His immortal body and blood as this is the only Body with immortality in its genetics, because God has acquired a human body to save and give immortality to mortals. Without knowing this truth many protestants think that Eucharist is a symbol, *God brings about immortality by offering His immortal body and blood to us.* It is very very deep and amazing reality , very present among us. How sad people ill treat the only elixir of immortality. Jesus took death on His immortal body , where death was annihilated, now He offers the same body to whoever comes through the door of faith by baptism, and prepare themselves worthy of reciveing Him with holiness , faith and real charity. Eucharist is the only food which is living while consuming and as any food that nourishes the eater, gives eternal life to the receiver. ONLY BY CONSUMING EUCHARIST, ONE ENTERS INTO JESUS TO GO TO FATHER, BECAUSE WHEN WE EAT EUCHARIST , MORE THAN JESUS ENTERING INTO US , WE ENTER INTO THE ETERNAL AND EVERLASTING GOD. 🙏🙏
