Actually, I disagree. This girl was smart and well spoken. The times she stumbled, it was because she was trying avoid traps. I one occasion, she was smart enough to ask for time to gather her thoughts. The problem was that the dude was smarter and was able to easily point out her B.S. Most of these kids have grown up in a political and intellectual bubble and have never been challenged in this way before. Social media echo chambers make complex thinking very difficult. If a priori you're told that everyone falls into suppressor/suppressed categories, and that all subsequent political equations factor from that dichotomy, then any behavior is defensible on the part of a "suppressed" culture against a "suppressor" culture. Every time I hear the American students I am shocked by the general ignorance, confusion, lack of specific knowledge, preparation and vision on the arguments. The girl in the video sounds like a 5 Grade student compared with a European equivalent.

Columbia University is a Private Institution on Private Property, which means even though you have a student ID, they have the right to ask you to leave from an area of the campus or the campus as whole. If you do not vacate said area you can be arrested for trespassing.

If this young woman is an indication of the level of students in the USA, then we are in trouble. Her ignorance is so extreme, it is sad and frightening.

The problem is that Israels crimes have been going on for over 70 years and humanity has had enough. You can argue that the US has committed worse crimes but that's debatable.

Why not just stop paying tuition as a protest? I mean, it is 90,000 usd a year. They should protest the tuition fee.

There’s a legitimate desire, by the local Arab population in the region, to establish a Palestinian state. Arguably, that state already exists: it’s Jordan. But OK, they want another Palestinian state. Who are we to deny them their desire. That still has no connection with the facts he is enumerating. Whatever you think or believe, there has in fact never existed, until the creation of Jordan arguably, an independent Palestinian state.

Even though they suffered greatly and unfairly due to communism, they still held a firm belief in the ideals of communism. If you get brainwashed during your coming of age years it's extremely hard to overcome. Not everyone is susceptible to brainwashing, but those who are there's not much you can do for them.

Moreover, not enough western supporters of Israel know this, but they’re in fact a welfare economy! I can’t speak for the UK, but in ‘murica the demographic most supportive of Israel is the least supportive of welfare/welfare states - that’s the basis for FOX and the fear mongering tactics they dub as “reporting.”
