Jay Lakhani (Hindi:श्री जे लखानी; born December 5, 1948) is a theoretical physicist and a speaker on Spiritual humanism. He is the editor of two books related to the teaching of Hinduism in schools in the UK; Hinduism for Schools and Primary Hinduism. He received an MSc in Theoretical Physics in 1970 and is the first Hindu tutor to be appointed by Eton College for religious study. He is the head of The Hindu Academy (UK).
He presented several TED talks and television debates, challenging the paradigm of strict monotheism, materialism, and the connection between spiritual humanism and science.

    SHALINI: i have learnt alot ...............There are four mahavakyas in Hinduism. 1.Prajnanam Brahma -universal consciousness is Brahman -Rigveda 2. Aham Brahmasmi -I am Brahman -yajur veda. 3. That twam asi -you are Brahman -Sama veda. 4. Ayamathma Brahma -this Atman is Brahman -Atharva veda.

    Blood is the symbol of life, to give blood is often to save life and to take blood is to bring about death, therefore, the eating of meat is a compromise which Hindus /Janis refused to compromise and eat only vegetables.

    As per the book 'Holy Science' by Sri Yukteswar Giri food habits should be according to teeth structure and length of digestive canal from mouth to anus. He has shown the comparisons among carnivorous, herbivorous. I think this is good logic.
