This is the key to a killer midset. The ability to adapt and make good desitions in the moment when the stress is on. As you say everyone has the ability to look back a see thier mistakes. The miliary mitigates this by trying to pre plan every possible scenario and generate a long list of SOP's, Actions On ect. so you dont have to create a whole new plan in that stressfull situation just implement a pre agreed action. But the consequences of a failed military opertion could be catastrophic so all that planing seems worth while. But the consequences of not going for a swim, or not going to the gym, or ot pressing snooze, in that moment seem to have little or no negative consequences as you mind always seems to delay the outcome and tells you that you will have another chance to fix this tomorrow. But as the saying goes "Tomorrow Never Comes" and years slip by without you taking action. I still have not figured out how to sweat the small stuff. Most peoples answer to this is "you just have to get on and do it". Maybe it is just that simple but I still seem to fail to take the right actions on a consistant enough basis to make a differance.

Bang on! Been doing this for the last two years of being a parent 🤣. Plans change in an instant. For example training goes out the window but getting something done is better than doing f all.

Good dude. Love that you open sourced the wisdom in the bushcraft video too. That’s real politics- imparting useful wisdom and information and maximising the outreach of its effect. It’s a massive ball ache to often seem behind the desperate types who are good at playing the mad scramble for power, but what you sacrifice in expedient reward you gain in developing a foundation of trust.
