I have uninstalled apps on my phone, and I have blocked the social media websites on my computer. It has been the best decision that I have made in 2021.

I started Instagram in 2012 when I was 23 and now nine years later I’m 32 and my feelings about social media has changed a lot. I love photography so I mostly posted my photography photos and slowly over the years stopped posting my personal life on my page. But I totally agree about those damn likes and getting interactions. I would get so frustrated when I wasn’t getting enough likes and engagement and I would use all these freakin hashtags to get my photos noticed 🙄 so ridiculous! I recently disable my account and taking a break. I actually love having some privacy for once and not have people knowing what I’m up to all the time in my stories. My friends have my number ✌️

Deleted all my socials and only have my business IG left. About to delete that too! I get a sick feeling whenever I log in. I just don’t belong there and never have. I like my individuality and humanity too much. Social media breeds conformity and misery, and as an artist it’s just too painful for me to carry such a burden. By the way, you are gorgeous! I love seeing real faces.

I deleted most of my social media, but the issue is I have no friends outside of it

Same, but I became friends with my neighbors and I hope you can meet some friends outside of social media as well

I'm planning to take a month break from FB to see how it feels. If I feel ok enough after the time is up to give it up altogether, then I will.

I was never big on social media, tbh. But I ended up studying marketing, so I'm afraid I'll have to rejoin it and I'm really not looking forward to it....

BARS ON BARSS!! literally all the reasons why I have been put off social media. Recently i’ve been very conscious of regulating the media I consume, hence why I so thankfully stumbled on ur wonderful channel. I also tend to think about what social media does for those with personality disorders and if there is often a connection between the two. I definitely think in the next 10 years we will get some concrete data on this so that there can be more of a widespread awareness to the negative affects of social media, especially instagram.

I started using social media as a teen I'll alway felt lonely on there but I'll stated trying to be photogenic on there so I can get more likes and comment so everyones can like lol I cant help myself

Excellent content Cheyenne. Although I don't post too much of myself on social media, I'm very cautious of who I follow. I only watch or follow people that I can learn from. Probably because I'm maturing and understanding social media from a different perspective.

Can you do a video on oral interpretation. I’m gonna be attending a university in the spring and I am a communications major and wanna get more into oral interpretation of communication.

The Social Network is such a game changer! Really makes you lookat social media through a different like. Do you have any other recommendations to watch??

i turned off my notifications too after watching Social Dilema and basically, i had my 3rd eye opened after not engaging with S.M via notifications 😳🤯🧿👄🧿 it was life changing, it kind of forced me to engage with S.M in a way that provided me more agency when use them, and also it was the fact that not having notifications whatsoever made have more intention when using apps like IG or TW (which is something that makes me feel full filled to an extent 🧘🏾‍♀️🍃🔮) thank u for your work 💌❤️‍🔥
