I've watched you for a long time, and your videos are absolutely top shelf. I have learned so much. There is one thing you do that I can't do. I cannot fast. If I fast for 24 or 36 hours, I get very sick when I start eating again. This happens every time. I've tried fasting 100 times. I've never been able to not be sick to my stomach afterwards, so I just quit doing it. It doesn't matter what I eat after the fast. It can be the softest scrambled eggs. I still get sick or throw up. Everything else but fasting is perfect.

I remembered that i use to do magic mushrooms when i was about 20 years old...i'm 47 now, female...and at that time i heard that the psilocybine would work much better when fasted. So at 20 i regurly fasted to make sure i had i good trip😊 magic mushrooms don't go together with food and especially sugars and make me less hungry. So i started doing that again and i microdosed. And the psilocybine puts you into your feelings and out of your thinking. First i ate lowcarb for a month, then started intermittent fasting, then started omad and carnivore with ferments and then introduced the mushrooms...like the shamans used to do: fasting first and then the plant medicine...always take the plant medicine fasted. To me it's a very nice and extra spiritual way to fast and to make fasting fun. Sometimes i really long to go into a longer fast with some psilocybine at the end because i love the way it makes me feel: younger, more elastic, more connected and sparkling❤

This is a really good video. But I didn't hear some explanations that I needed. First, what are the rules you talk about? Are they to follow the continuum and succeed at each stage before moving onto the next? Second, during the slide that lists mitochondria, fat adapted and psychology...are you saying that if your mitochondria are not healthy then your fast won't work properly? And you have to be fat adapted too? And what about psychology? I get that social influences impact us, but it's unclear to me what you suggest we do about it. And last, when you answered the first person's question about which type of fast do you do or prefer? I don't know what your answer was, and I'd like to know. Because it kinda seems like you're saying alternate day fasting, and yet you're doing 60-72 hr fasts. So regarding the title "do this if you hate fasting", besides following the continuum properly, are you saying that a sardine fast is recommended a few times before a water fast? Thank you. 🙂 PS: I took the first class, and look forward to doing the new 2.0 version!

What if we're trying to build muscle and spending an hour weight training most days? I'm eating mostly carnivore, but since I don't enjoy eating meat at all, get tired of eating lots of eggs and cheese, I don't eat much at a time. The boney and gaunt at 59 isn't pretty (lost all my desirable curves recently as well. Ugh). If I didn't still have excess skin from weight loss the thinness would be more pronounced. Muscle seems difficult to build in a fasted state if one is already thin. 10:56

My doctor has reduced it quite a bit since I began the low carb diet (20gm or less/day). I'm hugely insuline resistant, I stop eating at 4 or 5 pm and at 7 the next morning, my glucose is STILL CLIMBING. I have a Dexcom. I'm overweight for many years. Am I supposed to wait until I'm not injecting ANY INSULIN before I worry about making & burning ketones? It sounds to me like this whole thing is not for folks who are injecting insulin...

I have lost weight ,not all at least 50 times in my life and gain it back . I notice i do better and feel better when i eat mostly meat and veg. I think this keto diet is the same so I have decided to try this because I feel it is my last chance in life. The last time i lost weight was 4 years ago. I went under two hundred pounds , I was excited and hopeful until i for what ever reason stopped and gained it all back and more. always more . I can't afford to repeat my life long behavior because this last time devasted me to my soul . I can't bare to do this again.. It has taken me four years to try and find hope and the will to try again.

You have to start with liquids only. I've experienced the same when I break the fast incorrectly. Start either with sauerkraut or broth, chicken or beef whatever you like. You have to reintroduce foods slowly.

Maybe try fasting 16 hours, 24 hours is the maximum I managed to achieve.
I didn't find any ease in fasting until I started eating enough food. Just did my first 36 hour fast last week.
Okay, you convinced me. I haven't tried sardines many years, and I did an internet search for sardines that don't taste too fishy / strong. I I'm going to try the Costco sardines with no skin and no bones. It is probably closer to tuna fish. I figure if I don't like it I'm sure it would be good for my doggo.
Down 160lbs. A1c normalized at 5.1-5.3 from 6. Most blood markers good now. BP better. 50-60 more lbs to go.

Thank you for talking about this! ❤❤❤❤ 😅 It’s been a long journey to a better waistline.
Thank you for this KZread video! I learn something new every time I listen to you. Eating Sardines only really did improve my numbers during the 21-day, now I am inspired to do it again.🙂
Hate relationship with diets and fasting but my body is begging for a healthier solution.

You Got To Try Just Lower carbs and sugar and you will do Extremely Well!
You look fantastic Dr. Boz 👍🏻
Hey there fellow keton-iens, i think if you hate to fast its because it might be that you haven't riding the fatty way of life. Cause if you are a hardcore fat eater. Your body knows to eat its self. And there is no hunger. Been doing this for 7 years now and i fast every other day. Just because I can. Not to mention how much money I save!!!! I feel amazing glucose 51 and ketones at 1.9 lost 220 lbs. Can't wait till i can attend one of your Tuesday meetings.
Heavy Protein and fat 17:44 in the evening causes blood sugar rise during the night and then will start to decrease about 5 am. Lessen your protien and fat for 30 days and see if that helps. Use more protein and fat during the day to get at least 100 grams of protein and fat.
I did 80 hour fast.. at day 2 and 3 I felt weak and hungry.. I had been skipping breakfast and eating low carb for months before the fast.. I made, but wasn't easy.
So I can add MCT to my water/tee during my fast with no food? How much/often?
I had wondered if you fasted 72 hours weekly! Thank you for answering the question I hadn’t yet asked.
How ironic is that the FDA takes time to verify continuous ketone monitors are safe and effective?
excellent. Also, so much of how/when we eat is based on our conditioning/emotions and deeper issues. That’s truly where the challenges to fasting reside.
My daughters doc is giving her diet pills, I’m so upset! In doubling down to reverse my t2 and lose weight to show her it can be done!
Even half price it's not affordable. Hard to keep up in today's world.
I’m 45 hrs into fast nothing but salt & water. I feel terrific but this mornings glucose was 108 & ketones .8. Now it’s been very stressful doing a home reno & daughter had a new baby on Sunday. How do I keep stress out of my sugar
Should you do a sardine challenge longer than 72 hours if you have 80 pounds to lose?
Anyone know if dr boz has said if you can begin the keto journey with the sardine fast? Or do you have to begin 20 total carbs first? And how long weeks months of being keto before doing the sardine fast? Thank you.
How do you sleep when fasting? I'm never hungry but Ican't sleep at all in a fasted state.

Yes, it gets confusing - sounds like she’s recommending all of what you said.
What time of the day do you measure Dr. Boz ratio? I usually measure it right before breaking my fast at 11 am, but I'm not sure if this is what you recommend.
Any thoughts on having hot flashes after eating sardines? Good thing or bad thing 🤨 Ty
Couldnt you substituted hard boiled eggs for sardines?
Read Any Way You Can and watched videos for 4 years. I have learned so much! Tonight's video was just great!! BUT - I never hear anything in context to INJECTED INSULIN. I am still injecting insulin.
I just got the course yesterday, watched the first few lessons and took two scoops of BHB. BIG MISTAKE. Glad I was at home because I had some severe gastric distress. 😂 Here is my question: Does this lifestyle mean I can’t ever eat fruit or bread or desserts or chocolate again?! Or eat 50-75 carbs a day or even 100 once in a while? It feels pretty bleak.
Three days sardine fast , followed by thee days water fast?
I’ve been carnivore for six years. (I’m trying to lose the 20 pounds I gained on medication.) I’m on my 4th 3 day sardine fast for the month. I’m confused by my numbers. My ketones never get above 2. And my glucose hovers from 90-100. I’m a 72 year old female. Am I expecting too much?
If you’re doing a prolonged water fast, trying to do 10 days. If you feel weaker and weaker by day 4 or 5, what is going on? Shouldn’t it switch to ketosis and you have more energy? Why would someone feel weaker and weaker and dizzier. Would they still be running on glucose? Does the body not switch sometimes?

You teach high fat. Maria emmerich says tye body has a fat thresh hold. When I eat high fat I have issues. So what gives?
Where and How do I find a device to measure Ketones??? I have a Libre2 CGM. Super useful. Never seen such a device for ketone measurement.

Fasting is stressful. Even with all the fasting you do, you said you are still wanting to lose ?5 lbs. I haven’t heard your alternative to fasting 3/4 into your video.
I heard testing 1st thing isnt hood because of the dawn affect?? My glucose is always high(over 100) ketones low(less than 0.5) 1st thing. So confused.
Sardin3s without bread, like proteic bread (cottage cheese and eggs) is impossible for me. Simple sardines cannot do it. Do not know what to do. I am at a plateau. Hoping exercise will help.
I can make the sardines fast can I have a tea spoon of cream in my morning coffee?
Wats in offering for a vegeterian! if not sardines

Wow, you look younger and way hotter today than ten years ago. Nice.
How is your sister in law doing? Did she lost the weight? Did she keep it down? Is she better?
Hi Dr Boz! I've been consuming a lot of your content recently and have been monitoring my levels with ketomojo. I consistently keep my glucose low (~50-80s) and ketones high (4+ even up to 8 or more). My highest ratio was 32 in the last week. I've been as low as 9, but I've stalled anyway. I'm either doing it wrong or I'm inadvertently doing something to skew my numbers. I'm carnivore (no dairy except heavy cream in coffee in the am). I am not fasting. I am currently exclusively breastfeeding an infant, so I'm hesitant to fast, especially without direction. Any ideas?
hey Doc where can I buy that ketone tester?

I HATE FASTING! I am not a Natural faster. I have NEVER felt Amazing during or after a fast. I have only felt hunger. What do I do?
I had to stop Keto because I am an LMHR and my cholesterol skyrocketed along with my apoB levels. For some reason, I also have high hs-CRP likely due to autoimmunity or osteoarthritis but I had to stop doing keto. :( That part of the chemistry does not work for me! I am back to my usual low carb diet with about 75g carbs.
