Fear that might be stored in the body can find it's way to our abdomen. This practice is part of why our super heroes go 'within themselves' and sometimes find freedom or power from dealing with the 'root' of the problem 🧘🏼‍♂️🙏🏼✨

I tried this for maybe a week years ago, it takes alot of mind/body effort...but it will make you damn near immovable w/your feet planted after building some strength. I've lifted heavy compound movements for 20+ years now, but *nothing* ive ever done lower body-wise has Ever compared to the functional strength I gained from that short, but consistent dedication to developing a low horse stance. I'm def getting back into that.

I’m curious have you tried adding weight and working through a dynamic range of motion with this? I especially feel like this would be beneficial for powerlifting seeing as tight hips and back muscles seem to be the bane of our existence. I’ve only started doing this since yesterday and it’s already made a massive difference for me. My hips don’t feel locked up and I feel like I can use all the muscle again. Thank you!

Yes, I have and it is beneficial. Just remember to keep your pelvis at the same level throughout, with fatigue you may collapse into an Anterior Pelvic Tilt (which will translate into a butt wink during a squat)

Sorry to say this, but when you do horse stance, your spine should remain neutral with an anterior pelvic tilt so your hips can open. If you tuck your pelvis posteriorly, you will shut off the glutes and core and end up using hip flexors and quads which will contribute to back and knee pain. Give it a try and you’ll know. Hope this helps. Sorry to contradict. Love your content and explanations.

A few years later I moved to Southern Ca and hooked up with a Jeet Kune Do group, who also knew Muy Thai, Savate, Fillipino martial arts, Gracie JJ, Catch wrestling etc... Needless to say, I threw away my Traditional martial arts for more effective arts. However, in doing so, I also threw away great exercises like the horse stance. It really is a great exercise. Your forgetting dorsiflexion of the ankles & reverse crescent with the spine. Look up an stick your jaw up and back while curling the spine backwards. I've been in that stance nonstop for 2 years literally . You can crack all your vertebrae in your spine if your raise your arms and pressure breathe from this stance. Arms raised and pushing upwards is the key. Don't compress the body expand it
