While i love the video and appreciate y'all making it look easy. There are a couple of things I'd point out 1. You should torque the bolts to specifications, usually around 101 ft/lbs for mounting bolts and 25 ft/lbs for the caliper slider bolts (pivot up sequence bolts) 2. Pumping up brakes very important, but bedding new brakes in is important as well. Procedures on the internet, cause too long to write on a comment that's long enough as it is. Otherwise great video.

Fair points. As far as torque specs go, "put it on with the same force it took to remove" is usually good enough, unless we are building engines. If the bolts were not on tight enough, you would know it over time as you would feel a weird sensation in the pedal. If you want to break out the torque wrench, by all means you can, I just don't think its necessary. Bleeding brakes is going to be another video. Definitely an important part of maintaining your brakes, but not necessary with a rotor and pad change. Thanks for your comments and thanks for wathcing.

@@ExtremeDailyDrivers i see it as stopping is far more critical than going. But i referred to bedding not bleeding, which is the act of seating the pad to the rotor.

And that's ANOTHER video 🤣. Yes, for aggressive drivers, bedding the pads is important. But for 95% of the public, its not really necessary.

I like how Kelly can be seen hacking away at the wheel while Brandon films under the car! Great tutorial guys, it's downright disturbing to see people pay for a simple brake job! I have friends who own their shop and they make sure customers do not see how damn easy it is to do a brake job, they say fast easy repairs are their bread and butter. I like that you guys gave the Lexus some love, how about a follow up later on painting the calipers and wheel upgrade?

Kelly mentioned painting the calipers, but dude, it's actually a lot of work because that stuff takes forever to dry. As far as new wheels, ehh we like the OEM wheels enough to keep as is. Thanks for always watching!

@@ExtremeDailyDrivers Thank You ! 🙏🏼 Might sound coincidence but recently a dealer told me the rear shock absorbers had starting leaking. I’m not sure how long they’ll last but it’s now on the list of potential fixes on the near term. Videos for maintenance and services will be awesome 👏🏼 Like flushing coolants? Maybe replacing the front struts and rear shocks? Mine is 2013 and just crossed 100K miles, then I’m guessing issues might start to pop up? Xfingers it goes smooth 🙏🏼 I’m doing all in my hands to keep it in good shape 👍🏼 Cheers from Iowa 🍻 And wishing you continuous success in your channel and personal lives 🙏🏼 You guys are an awesome couple 💕

Love the video. I have one question though, when you took the old pads off the clip was on the top and when you put on the new ones the clip was on the bottom. Is there a reason for that? Is it something to do with using aftermarket rotors and pads?

@@ExtremeDailyDrivers Actually, it does affect something. Indeed, Kelly realized the ambiguity of the situation and asked a very good question; good for her. What it affects is how the wear indicators work, when the wear indicators first give off their low brake pad warning. You want the warning to occur when you are driving in reverse, not forward. Accordingly, always place the wear-indicators on the leading edge. So for front facing calipers, the leading edge, when moving forward, is at the top. For rear facing calipers, the leading edge is at the bottom. Also, if you only have one wear-indicator per side, it always goes on the inboard pad because, with a floating-caliper system, the inboard brake pads tend to wear out before the outboard pads.

I kept the battery disconnected and the key fob 30 feet away from the vehicle just in case. If your car turns on for any reason and that piston actuates, no way you are getting that caliper back onto the rotor.
