Rightfully so. Messi is simply incomparable. There have been many great goal scorers like Cristiano, Lewandowski, Zlatan etc. But Messi is a genuis. His ability to see things on the field that even people sitting above can't see, his passing accuracy, dribbling ability etc. He orchestrates and finishes goals.

The English press doesn't understand that Messi has the vision and passing of De Bruyne, the dribbling and agility of Bernado Silva and the flair and attack of Haaland, only improved for each situation in the facets of football. Messi is absurd and incredibly complete, no wonder he is the only person alive who is compared to Pelé.

Halaand is a monster, and there will always be more players like him, football is always evolving and for me Halaand is an explosion of Ibra and Cr7, but one thing is for sure, he can have 1000, 2000, 3000 goals, but never will be better than Lionel Andres Messi. Messi at 22 already had the Ballon d'Or, champions and was already being compared to Maradona and Pelé.

I will never understand why people care so much about the goal count. Sure it's important but what separates Messi from everyone else is HOW he scores them. Huuuuuuuuugee difference there between him Haaland or C.Ronaldo. It's not just that Messi manages to surpass everyone statistically, but also he can do it while being the best dribbler, passer, great vision, assists.....he encompasses the whole football not just one aspect of it. His impact in the gameplay is huge.

For the context , recently i was watching matches of the younger leo of the age about 22-23 years when he won the UCL with barca and i was watching some league games as well and whenever he scored the camp nou was bowing down like we see right now with the chants of messi messi messi and he was just 22-23 years old and then I watched his entry to the stadium when they were celebrating the laliga win and the UCL win at the camp nou after the season end when he can the whole camp nou(98k+ people) were just bowing down and chanting messi messi I was like what the hell we don't see that response to mbappe , haaland or vini when they are at the same age, I am not kidding you can watch the games the whole camp nou was legit bowing and chanting a 22 year old guy's name, I mean that is a different gravy all together which is very hard to match so just imagine in week by week basis how he would have been. Messi is just way way clear of everyone.

Messi is a once in a lifetime footballer. Like R9 , PELE and Maradona his stats cant be put in brackets because of how consistent he has been and how dominant he has been in every aspect of his play. Messi wasn't just the best goal scorer, he was the best passer, assist provider, dribbler , false 9 , on the midfield or on the wing. He was always the best in every position you put him in and even now at 35 he is competing whit players 12-15 year younger than him like Haaland , Mbappe and Vinisius and is providing more Goals + Assists than all of them in a year after wining the World Cup. Pep is absolutely correct in everything he says. It does no one any favors to be compared whit the GOAT especially at 20.

Haaland vs CR7 is a skill for skill relatively better comparison. But, to be where Ronaldo is, Haaland has to do this for 15+ years, no let up. Now Messi, that is a different stratosphere, only Maradona and Pele are in that table. Head to head vs Maradona, I have Messi for consistency and higher rate if goals. Pele? Don't know much but playing 70% of your career in Latin America doesn't help. The world cup doesn't cut it for me too. Didn't play in 1962 after the group stage, and was arguably in the greatest team assembled in 1970. 1958, I give you that!

The only thing messi has over maradona is longevity, which has earnt messi this “complete player” status. Maradona, during his wonder years 1982-1989, was extraordinary true naturaly talent which cant be unmatched. Messi also has better playmaking ability and edges out Maradona in dribbles. The world is very different now. Someone with beer belly simply couldn't play modern football all of them are freak athletes and Messi makes them look like novices in his prime. He dominated more and harder than Maradona in a much tougher era. What Maradona has is nostalgia. A lot of people have admired him for a very long time. Both in ability and trophies. It is so easy to compare the two players, cause they are at different corners. Messi is game changer and affects the game to the extreme. He is midfielder and attacker. He makes the game easy for his team mate . He is creative and selfgoal maker. Yes Haaland also fast and makes gaol from the penality area . Haaland is seen when he scores but not much when he plays. Pep is GOAT himself. He has changed global football since his coming as coach in Barca and keep doing so in the following countries and clubs. Bayern Munich did win Champions League, but the country won World Cup titile with the players dominated by Bayern Munich side and played tiki taka so incredibly perfect. English football has changed alot since his coming to Manchester City. The club is immediately dominant and win every year title. Premier league is also getting stronger and dominates European and global football. Messi is likewise. He is GOAT for what he has shown in every game he plays. Despite winning and losses, his statistic in every game is second to none. Everytime he touches the ball is joy for there is always something that mesmerising and surprising. For me, title is a matter of team works. When Messi played for Barca with Pep as the coach, titles followed them tiredlessly. Messi was incredible, and the team support his brilliant with good football shows. Things got different when Messi played for the national team. The coaches were unable to build a good team. Messi was isolated with insufficient balls in his feet. Argentian players spent most of the time played in their own half. So Messi has lost the world cups, mostly due to he played with bad teams, though they consisted of many famous players. By the way, though he was playing with bad teams, Messi has got Argentina to the World Cup Final in Brazil. He also brought Argentina four times to the final of Copa America. Was there anyone with that achievements. Every time, every year in every cup, when Messi is around, he is always the favorite to lift the trophy. That's no denial. Is or was there a player so much expected to win? That's how the world of football seen Messi as a footballer. He is the best and always be. Maybe cause he fucking dominated football for decades? 2014-2019 Ronaldo was by far the most decisive player, so much that people started to call him GOAT. Messi got the GOAT status after 2021 Copa America and 2022 World Cup, otherwise he would have been second to Ronaldo who won Euros and UEFA Nations League with fucking Portugal, but lately Ronaldo ruined his carreer with poor club choices. Had he stayed in Real Madrid, maybe shit would have been different, starting with the 2018 ballon d'or which he didn't won just because he move out from Real Madrid, and you know Florentino's influence on FIFA/UEFA.

Exactly. Mbappe and Haaland can’t even compare with CR7 yet and Messi is quite a bit further ahead than him in overall greatness (CR7 did have some season he came close)

TBH it's an insult to even try to think to compare any player with Leo Messi... Messi is the most complete player that God will ever give to the immortals.

Man i've already told another guy, now i am telling you, Haaland is like Muller at prime but better, he's good at finding free spaces, and also in addition to it he's tall and fast what let's him to score headers and tap ins. As for his goals , give so much credit to de bruyne who assisted him so much, if you check de bruyne stats he did so many assists this season, but not many goals, most of them he assisted to Haaland.
